Picked Up a White Cut Black Wife - Chapter 21
Shen Zhao was so furious tonight that she forgot to take her sleeping pills. She expected to toss and turn all night, but surprisingly, she drifted off almost immediately after closing her eyes.
Seizing the opportunity, the person beside her carefully slipped under the covers.
My wife’s bed is so warm.
Not content with just being under the covers, she grabbed Shen Zhao’s hand and wrapped it around her waist. After finding a comfortable position, she closed her eyes with a satisfied expression and fell asleep.
The next morning, the alarm clock rang. Shen Zhao woke up groggily, reaching out to turn it off. Suddenly, her arm felt numb. She opened her eyes and found someone in her arms.
“…Shen… Qiao!”
“Mmm… uh…” Shen Qiao stirred awake, burying her face against Shen Zhao’s chest and rubbing against her. She blinked sleepily, opening her eyes. “Wife, what are you doing here?”
Shen Zhao forced a smile. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”
“Huh?” Shen Qiao looked puzzled. “I fell asleep last night and don’t remember anything. Why is Wife hugging me? Hehe.”
The thief crying “Stop, thief!”
Shen Zhao rolled her eyes silently and released Shen Qiao, turning her back.
“Wife,” the person behind her immediately pressed close, nuzzling against her restlessly. “Wife, hug me again.”
“Stop moving!” Shen Zhao’s voice was hoarse from just waking up, sounding deeper and less intimidating, tinged with a hint of desire.
“Why are you scolding me, Wife?” Shen Qiao huffed in protest, resting her chin on Shen Zhao’s neck, her warm breath rushing into her ear. “What did I do wrong? I didn’t even do anything.”
Shen Zhao squirmed, unable to bear it, and tried to kick her off.
As if anticipating this, Shen Qiao swiftly pinned her down, straddling her and trapping her legs, making it impossible for her to move.
“Shen Qiao!” Shen Zhao snapped, flipping them over to pin her down. “Go back to your own room.”
“Wife,” Shen Qiao said, freezing. She bit her lip, her face flushed with a hint of bashful coquettishness. “What are you doing, Wife? Do you want to do something naughty with me?”
“You—!” Shen Zhao gasped, jolting upright as if electrocuted.
Without the blanket, Shen Qiao’s nightgown had ridden up to her thighs, the top hanging loosely off her shoulder, revealing half of her creamy shoulder. She lay languidly on the bed, looking exactly like the bl00d-sucking succubi from folklore.
With a single glance, Shen Zhao turned away, grabbed the blanket, and stiffly climbed out of bed.
“Wife, you…”
“Shut up!”
Shen Zhao’s morning peace had been shattered by Shen Qiao’s antics. Glancing at the calendar, she suddenly remembered it was her first day back at work. Already running late, she quickly got ready and snapped at Shen Qiao, “Move back tonight, or don’t blame me for kicking you out!”
Unfazed, Shen Qiao rolled around in the bed, wrapped in the blanket, right in front of Shen Zhao. “Wife, your bed is so soft, and the blanket smells so good—it’s all your scent.”
Shen Zhao’s vision darkened, nearly dying of anger. If she hadn’t been so pressed for time, she would have… she would have…
Rushing frantically, she finally made it to the museum just in time.
Everyone else had already arrived, chatting and complaining about how quickly the holiday had passed.
When they noticed Shen Zhao, several faces turned curiously toward her, all wearing expressions of disbelief.
“God, am I sleepwalking? How else would I be seeing…” The speaker gestured at Shen Zhao’s appearance.
“If you hadn’t said anything, I’d have thought I’d gone crazy after the holiday and was hallucinating,” Yu Xiaoxiao chimed in, teasingly.
“It’s a rare sight to see Xiao Zhao arriving on time! Once in a century, once in a century! I wonder what tripped her up? Ha ha ha ha…”
Shen Zhao calmly set down her bag and forced herself to explain, “We recently got a cat at home. It’s been quite a handful and delayed me a bit.”
Hearing this, everyone’s eyes widened in even greater surprise.
Yu Xiaoxiao asked, “Why did you suddenly decide to get a cat? This… doesn’t seem like you at all.”
Shen Zhao sighed. “It’s a little stray that wandered in. I can’t get rid of it.”
“Since it’s already made itself at home, you might as well take good care of it. You need a life outside of work too, you know.”
Shen Zhao nodded with a smile, but inwardly she thought, I’ll kick her out of the house sooner or later! I’ll deal with her properly tonight!
However, before evening arrived, someone called at noon, acting as if nothing had happened. She cooed into the phone, “Wife, are you done with work? I’m here. Come out and get me!”
Startled, Shen Zhao forgot to tell her not to come.
Just then, someone called from the doorway, “Xiao Zhao, stop fussing around. Let’s go grab some lunch.”
The person on the phone overheard and immediately whined, “Wife, it’s so cold out here! My hands are numb.”
“Shut up for a second,” Shen Zhao whispered to Shen Qiao, then turned to her colleagues. “Go ahead and eat. I’ll join you later.”
Used to her ways, her colleagues didn’t press further. “Alright, just remember to eat.”
“Wife~” Shen Qiao’s voice instantly brightened. “Why aren’t you here yet?”
“Stay put. I’m coming right now.” Shen Zhao hung up, glancing guiltily at her colleagues across the hall for some reason. She grabbed her hot water bottle and strode out the door.
“Wife, I missed you so much—” Before Shen Zhao could even approach, Shen Qiao pounced on her. Several acquaintances passed by outside, and Shen Zhao quickly pushed her back, shoving the hot water bottle into her arms. “I forgot to tell you earlier, you don’t need to come tomorrow.”
“Why not?” Shen Qiao’s small face crumpled. “Does Wife not like me anymore?”
“When did I ever say I liked you?” Shen Zhao gritted her teeth. “Go home. I’ll eat at the cafeteria later.”
“Wife won’t eat my food anymore and wants to kick me out?” Shen Qiao’s eyes rimmed with red, her nose twitching as if she were about to burst into tears.
Shen Zhao glanced around and snapped, “Don’t cry!”
Her harsh tone made Shen Qiao’s nose turn even redder, tears welling up in her eyes, on the verge of spilling. “Wife, you’re being mean to me,” she whimpered. “I brought you lunch, and you’re still being mean.”
Seeing this, Shen Zhao’s heart softened. Knowing she was in the wrong, she pulled Shen Qiao’s hand into her pocket to warm it and softened her tone slightly. “Everyone’s working now. It’s not a good time.”
Shen Qiao tugged on her sleeve and shook it. “But isn’t it lunchtime?”
Shen Zhao froze. “But… but it would still disturb others.”
“How would the break room disturb anyone?” Shen Qiao tilted her head, puzzled.
Shen Zhao bit her lip, desperately searching for an excuse. After a long pause, she blurted out, “It’s not my private break room! It would definitely bother people.”
“Liar,” Shen Qiao huffed. “I saw your name on the door.”
Shen Zhao fell silent. This woman was truly impossible to deal with!
“There’s a rule: no outsiders allowed.”
“How am I an outsider?” Shen Qiao’s delicate brows furrowed. “I’m clearly your wife, your insider.”
Despite the freezing weather, Shen Zhao’s mouth felt dry and her head began to throb.
“Wife~” Shen Qiao cooed, shaking her hand playfully. “Let’s go eat lunch, Wife.”
“Fine, fine, fine. Give me the lunchbox,” Shen Zhao relented, making her final concession. “Now hurry home.”
Shen Qiao gasped, shocked. “Wife doesn’t want me to stay with you?”
“It’s really not a good time today.” Shen Zhao pulled her outside, hailed a taxi, and pushed her into the car. “Be good and go home.”
Shen Qiao stood her ground, pouting stubbornly. “I’ll leave if you promise not to kick me out tonight. You have to hold me while we sleep.”
