One Piece: Red Sword - Chapter 4
The Marine warship sailed at a much faster speed than Luo Ze’s small boat.
A few hours later, Luo Ze was able to see the shadow of Logue Town.
After more than ten minutes, the warship reached the western coast of Logue Town.
The warship was anchored at the western shore, and under the guidance of Plian, Luo Ze disembarked.
However, while the Marines were wearing their white uniforms, Luo Ze was dressed in black clothes, making her stand out in contrast.
Moreover, the respect that Plian showed towards Luo Ze only added to the strangeness.
Just after getting off the ship, many people in the area turned to look at Luo Ze.
Most of them were civilians from Logue Town, and seeing someone disembark from a warship, they were naturally curious.
Upon noticing Luo Ze standing out so much, they were even more surprised.
What kind of person must she be to make the Marines treat her with such respect?
Soon, this thought spread through the crowd.
“Hey, who is that person? Why is she with the Marines? She’s not even wearing a Marine uniform!”
People whispered, looking back and forth, discussing Luo Ze’s identity.
But neither Luo Ze nor Plian paid them any attention.
Luo Ze was indifferent to others’ opinions, as she had no connection to these civilians, and she wasn’t interested in what they thought.
As for Plian, he chose to ignore the people around them.
He was embarrassed by the situation and was already plotting how to take revenge on Luo Ze after capturing her.
“Luo Ze, are you heading to the Marine base? If you’d like, I can go with you. I can help you get the 100 million Berries in compensation, and with my help, you’ll avoid many of the procedures when
collecting the bounty.”
After walking a few steps, Plian stopped and turned to Luo Ze, smiling as he spoke.
“Alright.”
Luo Ze thought for a moment and agreed.
Although she wasn’t sure about Plian’s intentions, she agreed anyway.
After all, she came here to claim her bounty.
The sooner she completed the system’s task, the sooner she could improve her strength, so it was better to head to the Marine base sooner rather than later.
“Alright, let’s go.”
Plian felt a sense of triumph, a satisfaction from the success of his scheme.
He had been worried that Luo Ze might refuse his offer, but now it seemed that the other person wasn’t as clever as him.
He sneered inwardly.
A foolish person with muscles and no brains was destined to fall for his trap.
Luo Ze cast a faint glance at Plian, a glimmer of something unclear in her eyes.
They walked through a few streets and arrived at the Marine base.
By the time they reached the central area of Logue Town, many people had already recognized Luo Ze’s identity.
However, most of these people were pirates or pirate hunters.
It was only in their circle that people would pay special attention to such news.
“We’re here.”
Plian looked at the large building ahead, his eyes narrowing as a smug smile appeared on his face.
He turned to Luo Ze and quickly put on a respectful expression, saying, “Mr. Luo Ze, let’s go inside.”
Luo Ze raised an eyebrow.
Her sixth sense told her that something was off with Plian, but she couldn’t pinpoint what exactly.
Still, she was confident in her strength and nodded at Plian, following him inside.
However, as soon as they entered the Marine base, Luo Ze felt something was wrong.
There seemed to be more Marines than usual.
She had visited the Marine base many times before, but she had never seen so many Marines coming and going.
Moreover, there were no other people around.
This was strange. Since entering, she hadn’t seen a single pirate hunter or civilian. The whole base was full of Marines, which felt off.
“Mr. Luo Ze, please wait here. I’ll go get the money.”
Plian led Luo Ze to the main hall, directing her to sit. He gave her a smile before turning around and leaving without waiting for a response.
Luo Ze was puzzled, deep in thought when suddenly, a black bullet shot at her from behind.
Bang!
The loud sound of the gunshot made Luo Ze’s brow furrow.
She quickly drew her sword, and with a flick of her wrist, she split the bullet in half in a single movement.
“What is this…”
Luo Ze’s gaze turned cold.
She had a feeling the Marines were about to make a move against her, but she didn’t think she had done anything wrong.
Had the Marines really just decided to attack her for no reason?
“Hahahaha! Wonderful, you must be the pirate hunter, Luo Ze, right?”
Just as Luo Ze was wondering, a sharp voice suddenly rang out, causing her to frown.
“Colonel Art, isn’t this a bit inappropriate? I haven’t committed any crimes.”
Luo Ze gave the suddenly appearing fat man a cold look and spoke.
However, Colonel Art ignored her.
He sneered and clapped, praising Plian.
“Nice job! Plian.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a group of Marines in white uniforms charged in from the outside, quickly surrounding the entire hall.
Hundreds of rifles aimed at Luo Ze, ready to shoot her into a sieve at Colonel Art’s command.
Because so many Marines had entered, the hall felt cramped, leaving Luo Ze little room to maneuver.
“So, this was the plan. You intentionally brought me here to kill me…”
Seeing this scene, Luo Ze quickly understood.
She gave Colonel Art a cold stare, her expression turning dark.
It seemed she had overestimated these Marines.
She had thought that, as Marines, they wouldn’t use such despicable methods.
Now, it seemed she had been wrong.
“Very clever!… But Luo Ze, even with your skills, in this situation, you’re as good as dead.”
Colonel Art sneered coldly, a look of satisfaction on his face.
He glanced at Plian and the others with disdain.
It was clear that with just a little trick, this pirate hunter would have been eliminated.
Yet, these idiots couldn’t handle it.
“Colonel Art, you’re so impressive!”
The long-haired beauty lying in Art’s lap stirred slightly and said coyly.
“Haha, just a little trick. Back when I hunted pirates in the South Blue, this kid was probably still playing in the mud.”
Colonel Art said proudly, then looked at Luo Ze with a mocking expression, clearly believing he had already won.
“What about the 100 million you promised?”
Luo Ze suddenly asked Plian, who was standing to the side.
“Haha, fool. That was a lie to trick you. If you want money, go to hell!”
Plian laughed loudly.
Pirate hunters were just that—still thinking about that non-existent money even when their death was right in front of them.
“That’s really too bad…”
Luo Ze sighed lightly.
Actually, she had wanted to live peacefully as a pirate hunter.
It would have been carefree and profitable.
But now, judging by the current situation, it seemed that she wouldn’t be leaving this Marine base alive unless she killed them all.
“This is troublesome… I’ve actually gotten along with the Marines quite well.”
Luo Ze said regretfully.
“But, since you want to make a move, then bring it on. I’ve never killed Marines before.”
Luo Ze grinned and suddenly slashed with her sword.
