One Piece: Red Sword - Chapter 7
After studying the system for a while, Rozar quickly put it away.
Right now, she was covered in bl00d. Although she had already grown numb to the sharp metallic smell, the sticky feeling all over her body still made her uncomfortable.
She planned to stay at an inn in town for a few days. After several months of pirate hunting, it was time to rest.
Also, her clothes were soaked in bl00d. Even if she wanted to wash them, they wouldn’t come clean. She needed new ones.
…
For the next few days, Rozar wandered around town.
Sometimes, she would taste the local food.
Other times, she’d hang around shady taverns.
She even spent a day fishing by the sea with a fishing rod.
In short, Rozar had many hobbies, and her life was quite enjoyable.
She had always believed: hard work is for a better life.
She wanted to become stronger, a true warrior, but that didn’t stop her from enjoying life.
She wasn’t a robot. She also needed to have fun.
Rozar was doing well these days—
but the navy was in chaos.
A few days ago, Navy Headquarters had sent a mission to the Dog Town branch, but no one picked up the call.
Sensing something was wrong, they sent a group of navy officers to investigate.
When the officers entered the Dog Town navy base, they turned pale at what they saw.
The large hall was full of dead bodies. The stench was unbearable because the corpses had been lying there for days.
As soon as the investigator Arts walked into the hall, they were nearly knocked out by the foul smell.
The bl00d on the floor had dried up, but ants and bugs, drawn by the scent, crawled all over it. It was disgusting.
The inspection team quickly submitted their report.
In an instant, the entire navy government was shocked!
How could someone be so bold and insane?!
Not a single survivor was left in the whole Dog Town navy branch—
they were all slaughtered.
Worse, the method of killing was extremely brutal and horrifying.
The higher-ups immediately arranged for proper burials and gave large compensation payments to the families of the dead.
At the same time, the navy treated the case with extreme seriousness.
They sent a new team from Headquarters to Dog Town, promoted Brigadier General Luka to Rear Admiral, and ordered her to lead the investigation.
Today was Luka’s first day on the job at the Dog Town branch.
The first thing she did after arriving was visit the cemetery to honor the fallen soldiers.
“Warriors, may you rest in peace. Justice will always be on our side. I promise I will not let that heartless criminal go free. Don’t worry. I will find the truth and give you the answer you
deserve.”
At the cemetery, Luka held a white bowl filled with fine white wine. She stood solemnly in place and made her vow.
Then she raised her arm and poured all the wine onto the ground.
“Salute!” Luka shouted.
All the navy soldiers behind her raised their hands and saluted the dead.
“Fall in!”
Luka turned around and led the team away.
She swore she would make the criminal pay the price.
…
Another seven days passed.
Rear Admiral Luka gave her all to the investigation, but Rozar hadn’t left a single clue behind.
So the search was very difficult. Seven days passed, and there was still no progress.
Rozar also heard that a Rear Admiral had been sent to take over Colonel Art’s position.
Early that morning, she brought the pirate heads she had collected over the past few months and headed to the navy branch to claim her reward.
She didn’t feel guilty about the slaughter at all.
Rozar wasn’t the type to be full of justice.
She only knew that Art had tried to harm her, so he died.
If Art hadn’t plotted against her, Rozar wouldn’t have attacked.
That branch could’ve been a good business partner—
she wasn’t stupid enough to throw away a useful deal for no reason.
Still, today she came prepared—
after all, who knew if the new officer would be as shady as the last?
“Hello, I’m the bounty hunter, the Killing Sword Rozar. These are the pirates I’ve hunted in the past few months. I’d like to exchange them for bounty rewards.”
Rozar arrived at the navy base and spoke to a navy soldier at the front desk.
“Understood. Please wait a moment.”
The soldier nodded to Rozar, then opened the wooden door and walked out.
Soon, a long-haired navy officer came in.
He sat down in front of Rozar and slowly spoke.
“Mr. Rozar, is it? You can now show the pirate heads and their bounty posters.”
The officer gave Rozar a lazy glance.
Rozar nodded, threw a thick stack of wanted posters on the table, then opened a large hemp sack and dumped out ten pirate heads.
“T-This is…”
The officer’s pupils shrank, and his jaw dropped.
He was clearly shocked.
“Twin Pistols Bartle. Bounty: 37 million.”
“Greatsword Barbara. Bounty: 22 million.”
“Bomber Richie. Bounty: 30 million.”
“Axe-Hand Raimonmon. Bounty: 42 million.”
…
He muttered the names one by one, his voice growing more horrified with each.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Rozar, this exceeds my authority. I’ll have to report to my superior.”
The officer’s expression became serious, and he no longer acted casually.
It was clear the pirate heads had frightened him.
“No problem,” Rozar nodded lightly.
She didn’t mind waiting—
as long as the navy paid.
“Please hold on.”
The officer excused himself and quickly left the room.
When he returned, a strong-looking middle-aged man led the way, and the officer quietly followed behind him.
Rozar looked closely at the strong man, her eyes sharpening.
She could tell this man was powerful.
Just one glance gave her a heavy pressure on her heart.
Her hands started trembling slightly. She felt a little excited.
It was the first time she had seen someone this strong.
She almost couldn’t hold back the urge to challenge him.
“Haha, you must be Mr. Rozar! I’m Rear Admiral Luka. Let’s talk about the bounty, shall we?”
Luka had a bold, loud voice that boomed through the room.
