Chapter 28: Jiejie Isn’t Allowed to Go Back on Her Word
Ni Hezhi deliberately paused, waiting for Su Yu’s eyes to look over. Then, composed, she met her gaze and pulled her beautiful features into a smile: “What do you think… would Miao Hailu be willing to be my little dog?”
The light in Su Yu’s eyes wavered intensely. A look of hurt gradually settled on her brows.
She took two steps forward, her eyes becoming moist and red. Her voice sounded as if she was holding back: “That day, you said… I was your little dog.”
Su Yu was always quiet and introverted. Even though she cared immensely, she couldn’t say sweet nothings.
Those words had taken all of her courage.
A billion bubbles of delight instantly popped up in Ni Hezhi’s heart, bursting in a continuous flurry.
Heavens!
This goofball was actually taking the initiative to say she wanted to be her little dog.
Ni Hezhi was almost toppled by overwhelming glee. All her disappointment was instantly smoothed over by that single sentence.
She knew that a small step for Su Yu was a giant leap for her.
Ni Hezhi suppressed the corners of her lips from turning up, forcing herself to maintain a calm expression and not reveal any sign of her overjoyed acting.
She intensified her performance: “That’s right, I did say that. But a little dog that’s disobedient and hides when it sees its owner… should such a dog be thrown away, in your opinion?”
Every word she spoke was aimed precisely at Su Yu’s heart.
She curled her fingers, her nails digging into her palms, but it still couldn’t offset the pain surging from her heart.
Su Yu hid because of her inferiority complex. She only dared to stay within a comfortable distance from the Omega, secretly admiring her from afar, not daring to get close, not daring to look her in the eye, and not daring to cross the line.
But now, Ni Hezhi wanted to find a new little dog, and Su Yu wouldn’t even have the chance to be by her side.
Su Yu fought back the sourness welling up in her eyes and carefully said, “Don’t throw it away. She will change.”
Flowers bloomed all over Ni Hezhi’s heart and eyes. How could she bear to throw away such a well-behaved little dog?
Not only would she not throw her away, but she would also plant a fierce kiss on Su Yu’s lips, solemnly stamping her own mark on her. From now on, she would be hers alone, and no one else would be allowed to covet her.
To get Su Yu to wise up sooner, Ni Hezhi pretended to be cold and distant. She huffed, raising her chin proudly. “But now I want to raise a different little dog and kiss and hug her… That Miao Hailu… I find her quite interesting, unlike some people who are as boring as a gourd and no fun at all.”
Su Yu remained silent, a cold frost in her eyes.
After two seconds, Ni Hezhi still didn’t hear Su Yu say anything. She feigned looking at her wristwatch: “Grandma should be awake by now. I’ll go pack my things and say goodbye to her.”
With that, she turned to leave nonchalantly, but deliberately slowed down as she passed Su Yu. She caught a glimpse of Su Yu’s hand trembling, but in the end, she did nothing.
Ni Hezhi bit her lip and continued walking. Halfway there, she stopped and looked back. Su Yu was still standing there motionlessly. A moment later, she turned and walked in the opposite direction, all the way to the washbasin, where she placed the bundle of cloth from her hand into the wooden basin.
Ni Hezhi watched Su Yu’s silent retreating figure, her heart growing colder and colder.
She had already put on this much of a show. If Su Yu didn’t chase after her, what reason did she have to stay?
If Su Yu didn’t care, she didn’t care either!
Bye-bye, then. The next one will be more obedient!
Ni Hezhi forced back the moisture in her eyes and turned her face away from Su Yu. Just as she took a step, the person standing by the washbasin seemed to regain her soul. She quickly ran after her and grabbed her wrist with force.
Ni Hezhi didn’t react immediately, only feeling a tingling current shoot up her arm and then spread throughout her body.
She looked up, belatedly realizing that Su Yu’s eyes had changed. They were nothing like her usual shyness. There was an indescribable dominance in them.
“Don’t go.” Su Yu blocked Ni Hezhi’s path. Her head-taller frame cast a direct shadow over her, and her eyes were fixed on her.
Ni Hezhi secretly smiled but quickly suppressed it. She lifted her face and challenged, “Who are you to me? Why are you telling me what to do?”
Su Yu looked down without a word.
“Let go!” Ni Hezhi tightened her lips, hiding her overly triumphant smile. The current situation was too theatrical, something she hadn’t anticipated at all.
Beneath the goofball’s good looks was not the dull shyness she had imagined.
Her aggressive side was utterly captivating.
Ni Hezhi adored Su Yu’s rare burst of aggression. It made her feel like a weak little rabbit being pounced on and devoured by a hungry wolf, leaving not even crumbs behind.
Ni Hezhi’s heart cried out in delight: Goofball, hurry up and kiss me, force-kiss me, make me submit. It’s okay to be domineering. Tie me up with a rope, let’s do some forced play…
However, Su Yu just held her wrist, did nothing else, and said nothing.
She was a silent one.
Ni Hezhi was so angry she kicked her shin. “What’s wrong? You’re holding my hand. Do you want to take me to see Miao Hailu?”
Su Yu still didn’t speak.
Ni Hezhi was both fond of her and exasperated. She no longer expected Su Yu to wise up anytime soon. But she liked her, so she had to accept her in all her forms, understand and respect her feelings, and give her enough time to figure things out.
Just as Ni Hezhi was about to give in and go comfort her, Su Yu gave a hard tug, pinning Ni Hezhi against the wooden wall behind them. Her hands were placed behind the Omega’s slender back to prevent her from being bumped or bruised.
“Jiejie…” Su Yu suddenly called out to her, her eyes filled with an undeniable possessiveness.
Ni Hezhi was stunned. From last night until now, Su Yu hadn’t taken the initiative to call her “Jiejie.”
The next second, a warm, helpless body leaned in, stopping at just a one-finger distance.
“You said you would help me differentiate.” Su Yu’s breath brushed against Ni Hezhi’s lips. “Jiejie can’t go back on her word.”
Ni Hezhi blinked in disbelief, and blinked again, as if she couldn’t trust her ears.
Were these really the kind of seductive words a blockhead would say?
The morning light streamed through the worn window frame, creating golden pillars of light above them. Everything felt dreamlike and almost unreal.
Su Yu’s anxiousness gradually calmed down. Realizing she had just said such suggestive words, beads of shameful sweat ran down her temples.
Ni Hezhi watched her go from being aggressive to slowly turning red. When Su Yu came to her senses, she immediately let go and retreated properly, her eyes flickering, not daring to make eye contact.
See? The stupid goofball chickened out again.
Just a moment ago, she was as fierce as a thirsty young beast, and now she was as pure and innocent as a little white flower.
She really could switch between roles effortlessly.
Ni Hezhi sighed in her heart.
Forget it!
She was the one always taking the initiative. What was one more time?
Ni Hezhi raised her slender, fair arm and wrapped it around Su Yu’s neck, burying her face in her shoulder with a charming, coquettish chuckle. “Jiejie never lies to children.”
“So, does Xiao Yu want Jiejie to help you differentiate, yes?”
If this goofball dared to say no, she would tie her to the bed and give her a thorough lesson.
Su Yu had been provoked by Ni Hezhi’s taunts earlier. Now that she had calmed down, she felt a little uncomfortable. She blushed from her ears to her neck and turned her head to the other side, too ashamed to face her.
Ni Hezhi cupped her hot, flushed face and forcibly turned it back. As if to force an answer from her, she asked again, “Does Xiao Yu want Jiejie to help you differentiate?”
Su Yu couldn’t answer. She wanted to push her away but couldn’t, and wanted to hide but was too ashamed to. She buried her head in guilt.
Ni Hezhi was utterly smitten by her shy expression. She couldn’t help but press closer. Her fingers traced up Su Yu’s jawline, and her voice held a hint of grievance. “Why are you hiding again?”
“Last night, we already did that. Why are you still hiding from me like before?”
“Xiao Yu, my mom told me… that an Omega’s body shouldn’t be shown to just anyone.” Ni Hezhi leaned her body against her, determined to catch her evasive gaze. “You saw my body, and now you’re hiding. Do you know how sad that makes me?”
Su Yu finally turned her face, seriously meeting the Omega’s beautiful eyes. She whispered an apology: “I’m sorry, it’s my fault…”
“It is your fault.” Ni Hezhi stood on her tiptoes to get closer. Her moist lips parted slightly and covered Su Yu’s cool lips. She bit them lightly and asked in a whisper, “Will you still hide from me?”
“No, Jiejie.” Su Yu gazed at her unblinkingly. Her eyes, backlit by the sun, were so sincere, so deep, and so moving.
Ni Hezhi’s heart was stirred. She pecked her again. “Then hug me now!”
Su Yu froze, a crimson blush spreading in her eyes.
Ni Hezhi waited for a long time but didn’t get a hug. She lowered her eyes, hiding her disappointment. “Fine, if you don’t want to, then forget it. I’ll go check on Grandma.”
Just as she turned around, Ni Hezhi felt her arm tighten abruptly. She was pulled into a warm, fragrant embrace.
She turned her face and saw Su Yu’s bl00d-red earlobes, her eyelashes trembling with shyness, and her nervous hands with nowhere to go.
How could she be so innocent?
Ni Hezhi was defeated. She felt like a greasy older sister corrupting an innocent girl. She took a deep breath, leaned in close to Su Yu’s flushed earlobe, and said word by word, “Su Yu, when you hug someone, you need to put both arms around them. The way you’re holding me right now isn’t called a ‘hug.’ It’s called ‘standing in line.’ Do you understand?”
“Oh.” Su Yu raised her arms and circled Ni Hezhi’s waist. Lacking experience with hugging, her movements were particularly stiff. The back-hugging posture made her look like a giant human hanger, and the sight was as comical as could be.
“You’re so clumsy.” Ni Hezhi chuckled. She turned around in Su Yu’s embrace and took her hand, placing it on her own waist. “Is this better?”
Su Yu frowned, wrapping her hand around the Omega’s slender waist. With a slight squeeze of her arm, their two bodies fit together perfectly.
Her brush-like eyelashes lifted, and her expression seemed a little unconvinced. “I’m not clumsy.”
Ni Hezhi: ???
This goofball was a true genius. She could go from clumsy to skilled in a single step and even apply the knowledge to other things.
Ni Hezhi was in a great mood and burst out laughing. “Yes! Our little Yu is a brilliant scholar. How could she be clumsy?”
She took the opportunity to rest her weight on Su Yu’s shoulder, leaning against her limply. Her hand sneakily slipped under Su Yu’s school uniform hem, feeling the soft, tender skin of her palm.
The sensation was wonderful!
Su Yu’s ears involuntarily grew hot. Her voice was as soft as a mosquito’s buzz: “Jiejie…”
“What, I’m not allowed to touch?” Ni Hezhi had no intention of letting her go. She used her other hand to cause trouble inside.
Su Yu felt like her whole body was on fire. She wanted to push her away but didn’t dare, fearing she would get angry. She could only freeze in place, involuntarily letting out a muffled groan that was impossibly seductive.
Ni Hezhi’s hands moved freely, taking advantage of the younger girl. The main reason was that her scent was so good. Perhaps because she spent a lot of time in the fields, the natural woody scent was fresh and wholesome, and the more she smelled it, the more intoxicated she became.
Soon Su Yu would have to go to work in the fields, and she wouldn’t be able to smell this scent all day. She would miss it terribly.
Ni Hezhi’s hand played with a small, green bud. The little thing, which had been dormant, sensed Jiejie’s affection and immediately perked up, responding enthusiastically.
Ni Hezhi naturally noticed Su Yu’s change instantly.
The corners of her lips curved into a small arc.
This little goofball said “no” and “don’t” with her mouth, but her body responded “instantly.” This contrast was so endearing.
So her hands became even more unrestrained. She pinched the little bud, rubbing it back and forth. After it became hard, she pressed it down, repeating the action several times.
Even if Su Yu was afraid of making her angry, she couldn’t take it anymore. She flinched and stepped back, while also grabbing Ni Hezhi’s hand. Her voice was soft as she said, “Jiejie, please stop touching me…”
Her voice had deepened a little, but it was unclear if it was a warning or a plea.
“I’m not allowed to touch?”
“Then Jiejie won’t be good friends with Xiao Yu anymore.”
Ni Hezhi wasn’t afraid. She moved her hand to Su Yu’s waist and gave her a poke. Su Yu was ticklish, and the corners of her usually straight lips suddenly lifted slightly.
Ni Hezhi poked her again. Su Yu shied away, her body shrinking back, a smile she couldn’t hide escaping from her beautiful, peach-blossom eyes.
“Silly goose!”
Ni Hezhi couldn’t help but playfully scold her. She saw a layer of red instantly appear on Su Yu’s cheeks. Ni Hezhi reached out and pinched her earlobe, expecting her to pull away. But this usually serious little goofball, at the moment Ni Hezhi was kneading her earlobe, subtly shifted her feet forward, then gently lowered her head, obediently drooping it down.
Ni Hezhi froze, and she couldn’t help but think of the stray dog by the door. At first, it wouldn’t let her touch its body or tail. She only used a sweet potato strip to make the little dog obediently lie down at her feet.
What was Su Yu like, then?
Ni Hezhi paused. A word suddenly popped into her head—
Tamed.
A complete, head-bowed, and obedient submission.
Ni Hezhi had been trying everything to win Su Yu over, but she never expected this little goofball to be easier to tame than a stray dog, not even requiring a sweet potato strip.
She was so compliant that Ni Hezhi couldn’t bear to tease her anymore. She leaned into her embrace, complaining sweetly, “Xiao Yu, please don’t lock your door anymore, okay? Jiejie will come to your room tonight… to help you differentiate.”
When an Omega acts coy, they can make a person completely dizzy. Su Yu was helplessly immersed in this tender embrace. The moment she lowered her head, she completely became the prey in her cage.
Ni Hezhi pouted her soft lips and wiggled her waist in his palm, urgently asking, “Okay?”
After a long-planned strategy and a carefully woven net, the little goofball who couldn’t control her feelings finally fell right into it.
Every step was taken with her willing consent.
Su Yu admitted that she willingly walked into the Omega’s cage.
Perhaps, from the very first time they met, the moment Ni Hezhi stepped out of the SUV, her fate of willingly falling for the trap was sealed.
She lowered her eyelids and, under Ni Hezhi’s seductive gaze, shyly nodded her head.
Her submissive attitude was very pleasing to Ni Hezhi. Her lips curved up high. “I’ll sneak into your room tonight after Grandma falls asleep.”
Su Yu’s face was hot. She couldn’t say any touching words, but the grip of her hands tightened, like a child guarding their candy.
Ni Hezhi had no way of dealing with her awkwardness. She let her bury her head like an ostrich, and after a while of cuddling, she suddenly remembered something. She turned her face to look at Su Yu. “I asked you, when you came in just now, what was that thing you were hiding in your hand that you wouldn’t let me see?”
Su Yu’s face was red, and she looked away. Her lips mumbled, “Nothing.”
The shyer Su Yu was, the more curious Ni Hezhi became. She was determined to see what it was that she was hiding so deeply.
In their previous playful teasing, Ni Hezhi had discovered Su Yu’s weakness for being tickled. She poked her waist with her fingertip, and Su Yu instantly broke her composure. Ni Hezhi took the opportunity to slip out of her arms and ran to the washbasin in three steps.
Su Yu chased after her in a panic, pulling Ni Hezhi into her arms and pressing her against herself, not letting her see the contents of the basin.
Unexpectedly, Ni Hezhi’s eyesight was astonishingly good. Even from two or three meters away, she could see clearly. She held back, and held back, but in the end, she couldn’t stop herself from bursting out laughing.
That laugh made Su Yu even more embarrassed. A voice of surrender slipped out from between her parted lips.
“Jiejie, stop laughing at me.”
The playful teasing in Ni Hezhi’s eyes was completely undisguised. “Xiao Yu is always so diligent. Even if it’s late, she’ll finish washing her clothes. Why is she still washing and scrubbing this early in the morning?”
Su Yu’s ears burned with heat. She gave a slight cough, knowing she couldn’t win against the Omega, and didn’t offer any pointless defense.
Seeing this, Ni Hezhi’s interest grew even stronger. She hooked Su Yu’s neck and slowly leaned in. The faint, mandrake-like scent was like an invisible charm, a wisp of it floating to Su Yu’s nose.
She tilted her head and left a lingering, wet kiss on Su Yu’s earlobe: “Xiao Yu…”
She whispered, “Did you dream of Jiejie?”
Su Yu was too shy to speak. Ni Hezhi couldn’t bear to tease her anymore. After a few seconds of unannounced silence, she grabbed Su Yu’s wrist. Their palms touched, and their fingers intertwined in a lingering, intimate way. “Xiao Yu, are you going to the fields again later?”
Ni Hezhi nestled in her arms, acting coyly: “I want to go with you.”
Su Yu’s eyes flickered: “No need. You can stay home and keep Grandma company.”
Miao Hailu was still there, after all. She certainly couldn’t create an opportunity for them to meet.
“Oh.” Ni Hezhi saw her serious expression and didn’t insist, only saying, “When you come back tonight, can you bring me some roasted sweet potatoes again?”
Su Yu’s eyes lit up with surprise and joy: “You like them?”
“I love them.” Ni Hezhi pinched her nose with her other hand. “My little Yu is so capable. She’s pretty, smart, and even cooks so well.”
This string of compliments was very pleasing to Su Yu, and a shallow dimple appeared at the corner of her lips: “Then I’ll roast them and bring them back for you.”
