Stealing My Stepsister's Fiancée - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: I Love Eating Peaches
Did she just hear something?
Su Yu seemed frozen in place, stunned. It wasn’t until Ni Hezhi’s hand gently touched her cheek that she snapped out of her daze.
“Why are you being so careless…?” Ni Hezhi said as she cupped Su Yu’s face, deliberately turning her sideways. The soft, plump ‘white rabbit’ pressed her arms against her: “Come on, sister will wipe it for you.”
Blushing, Su Yu tried to pull away from Ni Hezhi’s touch, unaware that her handkerchief had been swapped from her pocket.
Ni Hezhi hooked Su Yu’s neck with a backhand, the soft warm scent around her drawing Su Yu close.
“What are you trying to hide from? Do I look like I’d eat people?” Ni Hezhi tilted her head, exposing her delicate, graceful neck, leaving no room for Su Yu to evade her gaze.
Su Yu’s eyes lowered, and she clearly saw the playful, mischievous look hidden behind Ni Hezhi’s innocent face.
Su Yu understood this was Ni Hezhi’s game, but as a young, inexperienced girl who had never fallen in love or faced such teasing, she was caught off guard, unable to move forward or back.
Compared to Su Yu’s embarrassment, Ni Hezhi was calm and collected, like a hunter quietly waiting for her prey to fall into her trap.
“Huh? Why hide from me? Aren’t you going to do it?” Ni Hezhi tilted her head again, unable to get a response from Su Yu, so she followed her, looking like a little mischievous imp from a story, trying to coax her.
“I… I won’t be with you…” Su Yu stammered, unable to say those two words. Embarrassed and a bit upset—was teasing her like this really that fun?
Were girls in the city really this open? Or did Ni Hezhi casually do this to others too?
Suddenly, Su Yu felt a dull ache in her chest, and her eyes gradually grew cold.
Ni Hezhi wasn’t afraid of Su Yu’s anger; instead, she found a new amusement in it. Su Yu’s cold expression was actually adorable. It reminded Ni Hezhi of a puppet cat she once raised — initially proud and unyielding, but slowly becoming obedient under her care.
So it was the same with teaching or taming someone — it was fun to see them soften.
Ni Hezhi teased Su Yu’s neck, pulling her close and pressing her lips against her earlobe, whispering seductively, “I’ll give you three days to think about it…”
“No.” Su Yu rejected her immediately, pushing her away and pushing the cart forward, leaving Ni Hezhi with only her cold back.
Ni Hezhi’s eyes darkened as the smile faded from her lips.
Very well!
The third time…
This stubborn girl actually pushed her away three times.
No rush, Ni Hezhi told herself.
One day, she’d break through Su Yu’s cold and steady facade to see her truly in love — to watch her lower her pride, tremble, and beg for mercy happily.
Su Yu parked the scooter in the backyard. Grandma came out holding a wooden basin, found her, and smiled warmly: “Ayu, you’re back? Go wash your hands and eat immediately.”
“Grandma, I told you I’m supposed to feed the chickens. Your legs aren’t strong—what if you fall?” Su Yu hurriedly dropped the rope and helped her grandma sit on a bamboo chair.
The old woman sighed, trembling: “Ah, my old bones are useless now. If I can’t help, I’ll just be a burden.”
Catching the frown on Su Yu’s face, she quickly changed her tone: “Alright, grandma won’t say anything sad.”
Looking out the window, she wondered aloud: “It’s already five o’clock. Why hasn’t Huazhi come back yet? Ayu, have you seen her?”
Su Yu’s face turned a bit awkward: “She should be here soon.”
Shortly after, Ni Hezhi’s sweet laughter rang from outside: “Grandma, I’m back!”
Su Yu’s eyes trembled, panicked as she quickly spotted Ni Hezhi. Their eyes met briefly, and Ni Hezhi winked mischievously at her grandma, her playful intentions obvious.
Su Yu looked down, avoiding Ni Hezhi’s gaze, calming herself before heading to the courtyard sink. She scooped water to wash her hands, but couldn’t stop thinking about the blushing, heart-fluttering words from earlier.
Her ears were burning red, though she didn’t notice—Ni Hezhi certainly did.
Ni Hezhi smirked, silently following her, then suddenly stood on tiptoe behind Su Yu, leaning close to whisper, “Little idiot, your ears are red, you know?”
Su Yu turned sharply. Ni Hezhi stayed leaning in, their faces inches apart. Their eyelashes nearly touched, pupils reflecting each other, breaths mingling.
Su Yu’s expression stiffened, frozen. Suddenly, she pulled back, breathing uneven, staring silently.
Ni Hezhi smiled, eyes curved like crescents: “Angry? Feeling guilty? So… you’re thinking about it too, huh?”
Su Yu looked blankly at her. The sunset behind Ni Hezhi blurred her vision, everything turning dreamlike.
Her mind went blank; she couldn’t respond to Ni Hezhi’s direct words.
Ni Hezhi took her chance, wrapping her hands around Su Yu’s neck, pulling her close.
In a sultry voice she whispered: “You want to talk to me… about love, don’t you?”
Su Yu’s face changed instantly. She pushed Ni Hezhi away, scolding, “You have no shame!”
Ni Hezhi stumbled back, eyes darkening.
Fourth time.
Su Yu had rejected her four times now.
Though furious, Ni Hezhi smiled again, fluttered like a butterfly closer, and raised a handkerchief in front of her: “Su Yu, look… what’s this?”
Su Yu’s eyes widened.
When did Ni Hezhi take her handkerchief?
Why was it in her pocket?
Ni Hezhi grinned, stepping back: “I’ll keep your handkerchief safe if you keep mine safe too.”
Then she ran off nimbly, jumping down from the tied fish bones and landing lightly.
Su Yu was stunned; Ni Hezhi’s words echoed in her mind.
Her things…
Curious, Su Yu reached into her pocket. The fabric she felt was not soft cotton or cool silk. It had a frosted texture with small round beads.
She opened her palm.
There lay a triangular piece of lace with a thin pearl chain dangling — like the ornate underwear worn in costume dramas.
The sheer fabric seemed shockingly daring.
After pondering, only one conclusion came to her: it wasn’t a handkerchief at all.
Su Yu’s family was poor, and she rarely saw such things. She thought it was just a fancy handkerchief city girls used, not realizing it was actually sexy lingerie.
She shoved the “handkerchief” back in her pocket, confused. She thought city girls’ handkerchiefs were wild, didn’t absorb water, and took up space, so she kept looking for chances to swap it back.
After dinner, Ni Hezhi went to chat with grandma as usual. Su Yu, exhausted from the day’s work, felt her eyelids grow heavy. She was still holding the “handkerchief” but soon fell asleep.
The night was cool and breezy. Moonlight slipped through the window and into the hut.
Su Yu awoke from a daze, noticing an unfamiliar breathing sound in bed.
Before she could move, the quilt above her began to ripple, and something approached.
Delicate arms stretched from beneath the covers, wrapping around her neck.
Startled, Su Yu grabbed the hands like she was shocked by electricity, turned over, and pinned the person beneath her, her hands pressing down on both sides of their head.
Her face full of confusion, she heard a soft moan and gentle breath: “Little idiot, you’re just too cute.”
Su Yu’s eyes widened. Panic sounded in her voice: “How did you get in my bed?”
“Are you hiding in bed, afraid I’ll find you?” Ni Hezhi teased, glancing at her blushing cheeks and the messy clothes on the pillow, smiling knowingly.
She lightly twisted Su Yu’s wrist to break free from the hold, and tenderly touched her reddened cheek. “You still can’t differentiate, poor thing…”
Ni Hezhi smiled softly and shook her shoulders teasingly: “The book says love can help with differentiation. Want your sister to help you?”
Su Yu looked like she’d had her world turned upside down, her breath coming in short gasps, frightened and innocent.
“Think so?” Ni Hezhi teased, brushing Su Yu’s earlobe with her fingertips, coaxing: “Why don’t you say what you really think?”
Su Yu tried to push her away but her body was frozen, unable to move eyes, ears, mouth, or nose.
Taking advantage of her stunned state, Ni Hezhi grabbed her hand and looked into her bright eyes: “Xiaoyu, do you like eating peaches?”
Su Yu was puzzled, staring blankly.
Seeing her confusion, Ni Hezhi pulled her hand down and with a playful twist, tore the pajama belt.
Her loose pajamas slipped off her shoulders, revealing two ripe, juicy peaches bouncing in front of Su Yu’s eyes.
Sweet, succulent, and soft.
Su Yu’s breath seemed to stop. The image blurred, leaving only a milky white vision.
How… how could they be so big?
Ni Hezhi caught the surprise in Su Yu’s eyes and smiled lightly, offering the tempting fruit: “Want to taste?”
