Punish the Heavens and Punish the Gods - Chapter 10
I didn’t bother saying more — I unleashed my Eighteen Explosive Punches, a fighting technique, and got ready for battle. I shouted, “If you want to fight, I’ll take you on anytime—come!”
“The three of us against you alone—do you really dare?” Soul asked with a smirk.
The fighting energy from the Eighteen Explosive Punches made my body feel alive; my muscles and bones loosened, and white battle aura shimmered around me. Clenching my fists, I charged straight at Lei Yi Junxiang, Binwen Binglun, and Soul.
That’s when I noticed something strange—Soul’s body started glowing with dark energy. Shocked, I asked, “You can use dark magic?”
Soul laughed and replied, “No, no, not the weak dark magic of humans. This is our pure and noble demon magic. To tell you the truth, I’m actually a prince of the Demon Race. My father favors me most, so he raised my ‘Shadow Art’ to the fourth level. And since I’m the strongest among his children, he sent me here as an undercover agent among humans!”
Then he began chanting, “Awaken! Dark Magic, Transform—Two-Winged Fallen Angel!”
I froze. He was already that powerful? To reach the level of a Fallen Angel at such a young age… incredible. But also stupid—to expose his true identity so easily. Still, now that he’d transformed, even if I went all out, I had no chance of beating him. What should I do? Would he kill us to silence the truth? I haven’t even finished my father’s mission yet!
Run? No—there’s no “run” in my life. I can’t shame my father, and even if I tried, I wouldn’t escape. Guess I’ll just have to fight!
Ah, I really didn’t want to know that he was the Demon Prince. It’s my fault for being too impulsive. Humans have a saying, “Impulse is the devil.” But right now, I think it should be, “Impulse leads straight to the Demon Prince’s lair.”
Grinding my teeth, I charged at Soul.
“First-level dark magic—Magic Shield!” he chanted.
I hit the shield and got bounced back hard.
“Cone of Ice, heed my call and strike the enemy!” shouted Binwen Binglun.
“The Source of Man, Thunder God, Lightning Mother—grant me lightning!” Lei Yi Junxiang followed.
I braced myself, hands raised, expecting them to hit me—but instead, their attacks were aimed at Soul!
“Flame, Lightning—let’s join forces and take down this fallen angel!” Lei Yi Junxiang yelled.
Binwen Binglun added, “Soul! I knew it! You really are from the Demon Race! I’ve always suspected you—your eyes are dark purple. Humans rarely have that color, but demons? Plenty of them do! You spy—go back to your demon kind!”
Their third-level Ice magic and second-level Lightning magic slammed into Soul’s Magic Shield, but it absorbed both attacks. The dorm instantly turned into a chaotic mess.
I thought, “I’ll use dark magic too. Mine’s only level two, and his is level four, but maybe I can hold him off!”
I raised my hand and shouted, “Level three Dark Magic—Bind of Darkness!”
“You can use dark magic too?” all three asked in shock.
I quickly explained to Lei Yi Junxiang and Binwen Binglun, “It’s just human dark magic, not demon magic! I’m not part of the Demon Royal Family—I can’t cultivate Shadow Art!”
Soul sneered. “Hah! How can your low-level magic compare to my pure darkness?”
Lei Yi Junxiang and Binwen Binglun nodded firmly. “We believe you, Yan Jie!”
I met their eyes, nodded back, and said to Soul, “Don’t be so sure!” Then my Bind of Darkness shot forward, smashing through his Magic Shield. Soul stumbled back, his demonic form fading.
He laughed awkwardly. “Brothers, I was wrong, okay? Please don’t tell anyone about this!”
Lei Yi Junxiang and Binwen Binglun, thinking he was scared, glared at him. “Tomorrow you’ll regret it! We’re telling the whole courtyard!”
Soul sighed. “Don’t, come on, I was just joking!”
Binwen Binglun snapped, “You undercover demon! If we don’t report you, we’ll never have peace!” Lei Yi Junxiang nodded in agreement.
Meanwhile, I was panting heavily. My Shadow Art is only level two—it’s really tough to cast level three dark magic. I wondered if they suspected I was an undercover agent too… an orc undercover. What would they think if they knew?
The next day…
I woke up at three in the morning and couldn’t fall back asleep. So I decided to go check on Xiao Hei. After washing up, I hurried to the stable—and there she was.
Yan Lan was feeding Xiao Hei with her own high-grade horse feed.
This time, I didn’t feel any irritation toward her.
Her eyes were half open, and she kept yawning and smiling as she fed him. Xiao Hei munched contentedly.
I deliberately coughed.
Startled, Yan Lan jumped, dropped the horse feed into the stable, stood up, and stammered, “I—I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
I smiled faintly and said, “How about we take the horse for a walk—together?”
