Quick Transmigration: God of Slaughter? But He Calls Me Baby! - Chapter 28
【System 052: Host, how about you just go back to sleep? If you miss this chance, won’t there still be next Thursday?】
【System 052: Don’t be upset~】
“Mmnn—” Qianzhou pushed open the cupboard, but didn’t find any cups for water.
Normally, he never stepped into the kitchen. Only the housekeeper or Gu Sheng would come in here sometimes.
The only things he knew were that yogurt was on the third shelf of the fridge, and cut fruit on the first.
Qianzhou remembered there was a wine cabinet near the entrance. He padded over in his slippers, pa-ta pa-ta, to the door.
Opening the glass cabinet, he saw Gu Sheng’s wine collection—fine red wines, and auction-bought crystal goblets.
Every row had price tags from when they’d been purchased, a long string of zeroes on each.
Qianzhou squinted at the list, picked the most expensive goblet and the oldest wine.
The villa was quiet and cool. With one in each hand, he headed for the backyard.
The backyard was big, planted with rare flowers and many money trees, plus a man-made fountain. The scenery wasn’t bad.
Qianzhou liked drinking. Just one sip told him this wine was worth a fortune.
It sobered him up a little compared to before in the assistant’s car. He wondered if Gu Sheng would come back.
One cup after another, until drowsy, he slumped onto the stone table.
【Qianzhou: I want so, so many points…】
【System 052: Host, finishing this 6S-class mission will earn you a hundred thousand points. Just earn a few hundred thousand more and you can exchange for what you want.】
Qianzhou thought for a while.
Then hugged his head. “Still so far off…”
【System 052: But why do you want that thing? That’s only priced that high in the system mall.】
“I want… I want it…”
Qianzhou accidentally knocked over the wine bottle. It shattered, spilling what was left across the ground.
【System 052: Go back inside, host.】
They couldn’t figure out what caused the system bug today, what had interfered.
Gu Sheng hadn’t shown up, and wouldn’t return tonight.
No way to progress, so the best choice was to go rest.
System 052, peeking from system space at the already-sleeping Qianzhou, sighed helplessly.
【System 052: Wake up, wake up—go back inside to sleep, you’ll catch a chill out here.】
【System 052: If you get sick, we can’t even redeem the system mall’s universal medicine.】
Night in the backyard. The only light came from the living room.
Qianzhou, in a white shirt, was sprawled over the stone table. Shards of shattered wine bottle scattered around him, glistening in the spilled alcohol.
At that moment, Qianzhou slowly opened his eyes.
Still drunk, he saw a familiar figure standing in the living room.
“Why is there someone there…”
【System 052: Gyaah—!】
【System 052: You’re scaring yourself!】
How could anyone else be in the villa besides the host?!
Could it be haunted…
Qianzhou thought: if it were a ghost that looked like Gu Sheng, maybe he wouldn’t be scared.
His slippers had fallen off somewhere. Guided by the living room light, Qianzhou found one lying farther off.
He was about to tiptoe over when a large hand pressed him back onto the stone stool.
It was Gu Sheng.
Holding Qianzhou’s slipper, his vein-lined hand gently gripped the boy’s ankle, carefully and reverently sliding the slipper onto his foot.
Qianzhou pulled his foot back. “Didn’t you say you weren’t coming back…”
【System 052: Host, host! Listen, you’re drunk, don’t think—just follow my lead and don’t slip up!】
【System 052: Quickly—play dumb, ask him who he is!】
So Qianzhou stepped on his knee and tilted his head. “…Who are you?”
“You don’t recognize me?” Gu Sheng let him step there, his eyes darker with possessiveness than usual.
He said, “I’m Gu Sheng.”
【System 052: Say it—say he’s not Gu Sheng!】
Word by word, Qianzhou said: “You’re not Gu Sheng…”
“I am.” Gu Sheng scooped him up and carried him inside.
Qianzhou clutched his shirt. “And then…?”
【System 052: Aaaah don’t blow your cover!】
Gu Sheng’s eyes narrowed dangerously. Carrying Qianzhou upstairs, he returned to his own bedroom.
The door locked with a click, then he set the boy on the bed.
Gripping his chin, Gu Sheng’s face was icy. “I really want to dig out whatever’s in your head.”
052 immediately went silent.
“Who are you talking to? Hm?”
“It’s been so long, yet you still ignore me.”
Gu Sheng’s eyes were bloodshot. He raked his hand through his hair, then pressed his forehead against Qianzhou’s.
After a long breath:
“Sorry for scaring you…”
“I just don’t like you talking to anyone else.”
Qianzhou braced against his shoulder. “T-too close…”
At that, Gu Sheng eased back slightly. “Sorry.”
“I want to sleep, I’m tired.” Instinctively, Qianzhou sensed danger.
Like a helpless prey about to be devoured.
Gu Sheng’s gaze never left him, eyes filled with nothing but him.
“But… we can only see each other once in a long while. I’ve been waiting for today.”
“Won’t you humor me?”
Gu Sheng suddenly thought of something. Bracing his arm beside Qianzhou, he trapped him against the wall.
“Didn’t you promise to grant me any request I made?”
Qianzhou blinked blankly, recalling he had indeed said that.
Alcohol muddied his thoughts. He couldn’t see the trap, only that he couldn’t go back on his word.
“I remember… I promised you.” Breathless, neck craned, he propped himself up.
But that only brought him closer.
Close enough to feel Gu Sheng’s chest, his erratic heartbeat, his heavy breaths.
“May I touch you?” Gu Sheng asked.
Qianzhou, focused only on keeping his promise, never thought about what would follow.
Or what he’d have to endure.
“You can…”
“Good… then, can I not use protection?”
“You can…”
“Good.”
“Wait—that’s the sec—mnn…”
The night air was stifling. Dizzy, Qianzhou kept trying to reach for the AC remote.
But his fingers fumbled, dropping it under the bed.
It landed without a sound, cushioned by some piece of clothing.
He could only plead with Gu Sheng—turn on the AC, don’t torment him so.
The next day, fog clung outside, the villa damp and sweltering.
Qianzhou buried in the blanket, didn’t open his eyes until afternoon.
His eyelids had swollen and gone down, leaving only the red at the corners.
Even a small movement told him he probably couldn’t do anything today. His arms and even fingers ached.
“You’re awake. Come put some ointment on.” Gu Sheng had tied back his hair, sweat faint on his brow.
He held a white tube of medicine, expression calm—except for the bloody scratches striping his shoulder.
Qianzhou’s face flamed. “You—you, last night…”
The moment he spoke, Gu Sheng went silent. He too said nothing.
Then Gu Sheng replied:
“…Drink more pear soup today.”
