Quick Transmigration: Kitten's Healing Handbook - Chapter 19
Chapter 19: Hide-and-seek 16
Xing Fei was having a second-half class meeting with her classmates. It was rare for so many people to be together outside of school. After coming out of the Mota Mountain Scenic Area, they decided to go karaoke.
Xing Fei had just bought a bunch of delicious snacks with her friends and was on her way to the karaoke room. She wanted to use her generosity to cover up the suspicions about the grudges between her and Bai Li’er. She was about ten steps away from the room when her mobile phone rang.
Xing Fei handed the snacks to a friend to help carry them. She saw the incoming call and quickly answered: “Hello, Mom! Why are you calling me now?!”
Xing Fei realized there was a friend nearby and quickly stopped: “Mom, do you want me to accompany you shopping? ”
“Mom is at Renai Hospital. Come over. ”
“Huh? ” Xing Fei was a little confused. Bai Li’er’s injury looked pretty scary, and Bai Ye should have taken her to the hospital closest to Mota Mountain. Why would she go to Renai? And why was her mother there too?
Bai Qin couldn’t move at the moment. Although she had mostly superficial wounds that weren’t serious, there were so many that the pain was excruciating!
Hearing that her daughter seemed to be in a karaoke room, with various howling sounds in the background, Bai Qin thought her daughter didn’t want to come?!
Also, the old woman in the next bed, who was helping her hold the phone, was getting impatient. Bai Qin’s temper flared: “Huh what huh! Your old mother is hospitalized! Are those fox friends and dog friends of yours more important than your old mother?!”
Xing Fei was stunned by her mother’s roar, subconsciously looking at the friend who was some distance away. She thought her friend must have heard her mother’s yell!
Xing Fei’s face flushed, and she almost hung up. But ultimately, as a fledgling bird who had not yet left the nest, her fear of her elder overshadowed her reason: “I know, I’ll be right there. ”
Bai Qin hadn’t had time to say anything else when she heard only the busy tone on the phone. She gritted her teeth—that stinky girl!
“Okay, thank you. ”
The old woman who had helped with the phone finally looked better and lay back on her hospital bed.
Xing Fei gripped her mobile phone. Never before had she felt it so uncomfortably hot!
“Xing Fei, whose call was that? You look unwell. ”
Xing Fei, thinking quickly, pretended to be calm: “Nothing, my mother knows my cousin was injured and went back, she said a few things to me and asked me to go home early. ”
Before her friend could ask anything else, Xing Fei continued: “Actually, it’s not serious. Let’s go back and play with everyone for a while, and then I will go back. It’s hard for everyone to get together, and it’s a bit of a downer if someone leaves so soon. ”
“That’s true. ”
So Bai Qin waited a full hour at the hospital before Xing Fei arrived.
“You stinky girl! Why didn’t you wait until I died before coming?!”
Xing Fei was also feeling aggrieved. She had only been with her classmates for half an hour. Normal gatherings usually last several hours. She felt she wasn’t that late!
“I’m here now. ”
Bai Qin wanted to pinch the stinky girl, but she was in too much pain to move. She didn’t want to scold her daughter too harshly, because if she chased her away, there would be no one to take care of her.
Xing Fei helped her mother to the toilet, ran errands for her, bought food, and paid the medical bills, without complaint. After all, since leaving her gambler father, she and her mother had depended on each other. Especially after the doctor’s rounds and his report on her mother’s condition, Xing Fei worked tirelessly, running between the hospital and school every day.
Li’er and Bai Ye spent a leisurely half-month at home. Then, after receiving a call from the school, they took all the valuable things from home, including the property certificate, equity certificate, bank card, etc., and returned to school while Xing Fei was still at the hospital.
When Xing Fei got home, she was stunned by the dark hall. Before she could even turn on the lights, she rushed to Bai Li’er’s door and threw it open. What she saw almost scared her to death.
Xing Fei saw a huge dog with three heads, its bloody mouth open, lunging at her. She screamed and fainted.
Xing Fei lay unconscious on the cold floor all night. But even though she was unconscious, the fright didn’t end there.
She found herself in a hospital, with her mother by her side, but the flickering lights were terrifying.
She instinctively grabbed her mother’s hand, only to feel it was wet. In the flickering light, she saw scattered limbs on the floor. She wanted to scream, but her throat felt constricted, and she couldn’t make a sound.
She ran towards the hospital doors using only her memory.
Finally! The door of hope appeared before her. The moment she stepped through the door, however, instead of bright sunshine, she was back where she had escaped from!
The limbs began to writhe, as if trying to reassemble themselves. Xing Fei ran toward the door again, but whether inside or outside the door, she was back at the starting point!
The most terrifying thing was that the limbs were more completely assembled than when she had run away!
This time, Xing Fei changed direction and ran to the rooftop. But when she opened the rooftop door, to her despair, she was back at the starting point! The limbs were fully assembled and were wobbling toward her!
Xing Fei could run no more. She watched in despair as the unknown thing approached and grabbed her ankle!
Then she woke up! Even though the sun was shining brightly outside, Xing Fei saw a bloody claw mark on her foot. Her scream echoed through the empty villa!
Xing Fei didn’t dare to stay for a moment and ran out of the villa. The sunshine couldn’t warm her. She wanted to find her mother, but the hospital was also a place she didn’t dare to approach now.
After being confused for a long time, Xing Fei decided to find a classmate for courage and go to the hospital together.
After settling in the school dormitory, Bai Ye had already tidied up Li’er’s room, and Li’er eagerly grabbed Bai Ye’s clothes.
Bai Ye chuckled and patted her head: “I know what you’re curious about. It was just a disposable illusionary maze. Even if you faint, it’s still effective. The scare effect is maxed out. ”
Liuli silently gave Bai Ye a thumbs up in her heart—he’s a ruthless one!
Li’er knew Bai Ye did all this to get revenge for her, so she didn’t push away his hand, letting him stroke her hair. “Thank you. ”
“It was just payback. ”
“So do I need to repay with bl00d now? Are you hungry? ”
Bai Ye tapped Li’er’s head: “Not hungry. ”
Although Bai Li’er’s bl00d was indeed special to him, he didn’t treat her as a bl00d servant or food.
After all, this little thing was quite cute. He had promised to protect her, and unless he was extremely hungry, lost his mind, or had no other choice, he didn’t want to bite her.
Liuli raised her hand to cover the place where he had tapped her, concealing a trace of regret—if he didn’t drink bl00d, how could he have the strength to return to the small world?!
When will her mission end! She’s tired of sitting in a wheelchair…
It’s all Tuánzi’s fault!
