- Chapter 299 - I Abused the Vampire Lord 035
Sheng Nuan had just stepped out of her room into the corridor when Yu Li appeared, tentatively asking, “Miss, where are you going?”
Putting away her phone, Sheng Nuan replied, “Did you prepare those things I asked for? Jin Ruozhu is causing trouble again. We might need them.”
Yu Li acknowledged and vanished in a flash. When he reappeared, he was carrying a large bag stuffed full of items.
Moments later, the two of them arrived at the Fengming Lake scenic area. By this time, the entire area had been evacuated and cordoned off.
As soon as Sheng Nuan reached the lakeside, she saw flashing police lights and armed personnel blocking the area. Nearby were some familiar faces from the Bl00d Hunter Alliance. Zhou Qingqing stood there in a dark green trench coat, her expression anxious.
Seeing Sheng Nuan, she quickly ran over and lifted the caution tape to let her in. “Brother Sheng and Brother Fu have already gone in. Once they entered the Glazed Pagoda, we lost contact. We can detect special energy, but we don’t know exactly what’s going on!”
Sheng Nuan frowned. “Did they bring the items?”
She had instructed Sheng Yun to bring some things in.
Zhou Qingqing pointed to a large bag beside her. “You mean the incendiary grenades and stuff? Logistics just delivered them… When Brother Fu and Brother Sheng went in, they hadn’t arrived yet. There are twenty-three people trapped inside, including six children. They were afraid those people couldn’t wait for rescue, so they went in first.”
Sheng Nuan gave a low hum and called Yu Li to move forward with her. Zhou Qingqing chased after them. “Brother Sheng told me to stop you from going, but I… I know I can’t stop you. Let’s go in together.”
Turning back to look at her, Sheng Nuan said, “This is the Nether Prison. We don’t fully understand the witches’ abilities. Once inside, it’s another world. We might not be able to return.”
Zhou Qingqing immediately got annoyed. “You make it sound like I’m afraid to die! A’Zhao, let’s go! Bring the stuff and keep up!”
Not far away, Zhou Qingqing’s bl00d slave, A’Zhao, immediately responded and picked up the large bag. Sheng Nuan didn’t try to dissuade Zhou Qingqing any further. The four figures flashed and disappeared by the lakeside.
In the distance, among the police officers assisting with the blockade, some new recruits caught sight of the figures vanishing into thin air from the corner of their eyes, their face full of astonishment.
In the next instant, the four of them appeared at the entrance of the Glazed Pagoda… Behind them was the vast surface of Fengming Lake. The pagoda’s door stood open silently, the inside pitch black.
“Let’s go. Stay alert,” Sheng Nuan said softly, heading straight inside. Just as she stepped forward, someone pulled her back.
Yu Li reached out and drew her behind him, stepping into the pagoda first. Zhou Qingqing and A’Zhao followed closely.
The moment they entered the pagoda, the surroundings fell silent instantly. The sounds from behind the caution tape vanished, along with the flashing police lights and the colorful lights of the scenic area.
Inside the Glazed Pagoda, it was utterly quiet, without any of the things they had imagined might appear. Sheng Nuan looked back and realized that the view outside had also changed.
Everything from before had disappeared, leaving only the dimly lit lake surface and the shadowy, towering black forest by the lake—a scene of chilling desolation.
Customer service spoke up to remind her: “Host, you have entered the Nether Prison. Calculating and analyzing the exit.”
Sheng Nuan acknowledged with a sound, quickly scanned the internal structure of the pagoda, then turned and retraced her steps toward the outside.
Yu Li once again blocked her path.
They walked out of the Glazed Pagoda and finally saw what this world looked like.
Clearly, they had only passed through a door, but in an instant, they had arrived in another world. The surrounding scenery seemed similar to Fengming Lake, yet not entirely the same.
In the lake not far from the pagoda’s entrance, dark shadows swam continuously through the water, eerie and ominous as if about to break the surface at any moment. Through those shadows, one could vaguely see the reflection of the pitch-black Glazed Pagoda.
Around the lake stood forests of varying heights. None of the trees had leaves, only dark, gnarled branches. In the sky hung a dim yellowish-red full moon, exuding a thick atmosphere of gloom and foreboding.
At this moment, Sheng Nuan heard faint screams and exclamations coming from the forest opposite…
Those people had originally entered the pagoda for sightseeing, but upon entering, they sensed something was wrong. Their first reaction was to run out of the Glazed Pagoda to return, but they didn’t realize they were already in another world, far from the familiar Fengming Lake.
After Sheng Yun and Fu Hanyue entered, they naturally went to search for the missing tourists immediately.
“Let’s go over and take a look.”
Sheng Nuan flashed toward the dense forest where the screams came from. Yu Li followed closely behind her, not leaving her side. Zhou Qingqing and A’Zhao quickly followed.
Before long, Sheng Nuan saw Sheng Yun and a group of Bl00d Hunters escorting a crowd of crying and shouting humans retreating toward them, pursued by a large number of undead werewolves.
The Bl00d Hunters’ silver bullets could only slightly hinder those undead werewolves and were completely ineffective against the undead witches in fluttering black robes behind them.
The tourists had no idea what was happening. They were filled with panic and fear as they followed their rescuers running back. But in the next instant, an invisible barrier appeared before them. They crashed into it and could no longer escape.
Their screams grew louder, and the terrified cries of children mingled with the howls of the undead werewolves, creating a piercing cacophony.
Sheng Nuan reached into the bag Yu Li was carrying, pulled out several incendiary grenades, and hurled them out… With a loud boom, flames erupted, and the undead werewolves and witches shrieked as they retreated.
Sheng Yun whipped his head around, saw Sheng Nuan, and without even a moment of joy, he scolded her directly, “Didn’t I tell you not to come in? Can’t you listen for once?”
Sheng Nuan glanced at him. “I told you to bring incendiary grenades, why didn’t you? Can’t you be a bit more obedient?”
Sheng Yun: ……
He hadn’t had time and was anxious to save people.
Having been retorted, and knowing it was too late to say anything else, Sheng Yun stopped wasting words. He swung his whip, wrapped it around an oncoming undead werewolf, and flung it into the flames.
The werewolves that couldn’t be killed by silver bullets were engulfed by the flames, letting out shrill screams before quickly turning into black smoke and disappearing.
The undead witches all flew into the air to avoid the flames, their black robes fluttering in the wind, appearing as if they had no bodies, just heads and bluish-black ghostly claws growing out of the robes.
The undead witches waved their claws through the air. The gray-black weeds on the ground began to grow wildly, climbing and entwining around people’s legs, trying to drag them down.
At this moment, a dark shadow swiftly flew over from the sky… it was an enormous bat, the very one always beside Yu Li.
The black bat swept by like the Grim Reaper at midnight, lifted its claw to grab an undead witch, tore at it, and threw it into the fire below.
Yu Li flashed forward, expressionless, and punched the invisible barrier. The undead witches on the other side let out angry hisses. The barrier disappeared instantly, and the people scrambled and crawled to continue fleeing.
Sheng Yun and the Bl00d Hunters wielded whips in one hand and held incendiary grenades in the other. The incendiary grenades were much more effective than guns here. They ignited areas around them, and the undead werewolves and witches no longer advanced as aggressively as before.
Customer service had pinpointed the exit near the Glazed Pagoda and was calculating the precise location. Sheng Nuan told Sheng Yun to take the people over there, then looked around. “Where’s Brother Fu?”
Sheng Yun gritted his teeth. “A mother and child got separated, he went to find them.”
Sheng Nuan nodded. “You guys head to the pagoda, I’ll go support him.”
After speaking, without giving Sheng Yun a chance to stop her, Sheng Nuan dashed into the depths of the dense forest.
Behind her, a hint of gloom flashed in Yu Li’s eyes, but without hesitation, he followed her again.
She went to save the people she wanted to save; he came to protect her…
