Very soon, the Sheng family’s willingness to take in those refugees was made public.
Sheng Siyang appeared on the news and personally promised that those refugees would settle on the newly purchased ‘Nuanyang Star1’. The Sheng family would provide them with work and the corresponding living security, guaranteeing that all the work would be legitimate and humanely managed.
Just as Qin Ji had anticipated, the Sheng family’s reputation soared to an unprecedented height. Both the Imperial Star and the entire Alliance were buzzing, saying that first the Sheng family’s daughter, at such a young age, saved so many people on White Lion Star, and now the Sheng family had once again performed such a great act of kindness.
After all, no matter where you placed these thousands of refugees, it would cost more than just what appeared on the surface. Clothing, food, shelter, transportation, and job opportunities for these thousands of people were all issues to be resolved.
Now, the Sheng family had solved this problem in one go…
Many people expressed that enterprises as conscientious as Sheng’s should be supported more. After all, Sheng Military Industries did not only have military-related productions, it also had industries closely related to people’s livelihoods, such as food and textiles.
Subsequently, the Sheng family began to take action. First, they dispatched a group of people to Nuanyang Star to build houses for those thousands of refugees and sent essential living supplies.
After all, Nuanyang Star had just begun development and could not be self-sufficient.
While building houses, the Sheng family sent out a cruiser to bring those refugees over… Those refugees themselves were readily available labor. By sending them to Nuanyang Star and providing them with sufficient materials and proper management, having them build their own homes would only make them more diligent than anyone else.
And while everyone’s attention was drawn to Nuanyang Star, no one noticed that in an inconspicuous workshop of the Sheng Military Industries factory, a brand-new type of mecha—currently unavailable elsewhere in the Alliance—had already been produced.
Before this latest generation of mecha went into mass production, several trial prototypes had already been successfully made.
As batch after batch of materials were shipped to Nuanyang Star, Huo Ling came looking for Sheng Nuan again… asking her to help smuggle a few people off the Imperial Star.
Those who needed such clandestine departure were naturally people with problematic identities.
Sheng Nuan raised an eyebrow at him. “Didn’t we say we’d draw a clear line from now on?”
Huo Ling had given up on pretending and coaxing, since he knew he could not deceive her. He could only openly negotiate terms, “Consider it a transaction. In the future, if the chance arises, I will help you once.”
“I can tell your identity isn’t simple,” Sheng Nuan said unhurriedly, “If you want me to help with this, that’s fine, but you have to sign another written agreement. Come on…”
Huo Ling frowned slightly as Sheng Nuan led him over to a table. He watched as she began to write.
‘Today, due to XXXX, Huo Ling owes Sheng Nuan five favors…’
Huo Ling was suspicious. “Wait, what do you mean by five favors?”
Sheng Nuan raised an eyebrow, “Because you want me to take away five people!”
Huo Ling’s mouth twitched, “Even usurers don’t calculate like this…”
Sheng Nuan grinned, “Sign or not?”
Huo Ling took a deep breath, “I’ll sign!”
Two days later, Sheng Nuan and Huo Ling, along with those five people, departed aboard the cruiser that was transporting goods to Nuanyang Star.
Upon arriving at Nuanyang Star, Sheng Nuan could see firsthand what it looked like when several thousand people suddenly arrived… The last time she came to this planet, it was still barren land. This time, a temporary spaceport had already been established. At the port, cruisers and ships were docked.
After leaving the cruiser at the spaceport, they took a ship to the residential area currently under construction.
A cluster of ten-story buildings had been erected… On a newly developed planet, it’s necessary that everyone live close together to maximize safety.
The mining area was very far away, where Sheng family’s workers were already extracting resources… Everyone believed it to be an ordinary iron mine. Most attention remained on the refugees, so no one knew what those metal mines truly signified.
Most of the workers building residences were refugees who had been rescued from the black mine. Although they were still working now, it was different from being oppressed into labor at the black mines.
They had temporary housing, strictly regulated working hours, and filling meals provided at the work site. Even their families were well settled, given warm clothing and bedding, and if anyone fell ill, there was a newly built hospital to treat them.
Moreover, their work was paid, at a rate comparable to the Alliance’s construction workers… The wages they earned could be spent at a supermarket not far from the residential area, buying whatever they wanted.
From clothes and shoes to snacks and toys.
These people had been confined in the black mines like livestock for years, never imagining that one day they could return to their former lives… no, lives even better than before.
They had work and housing, and though the facilities were not yet perfect, each passing day saw improvements in all aspects of their lives.
Everyone was grateful and motivated. Many women even mustered the courage to apply for jobs as cooks or logistics staff at the construction site, earning money through their own efforts.
After all, with money, they no longer had to worry about falling ill and having no means for treatment… The Sheng family had accepted them, but they could not rest easy by freeloading forever.
No one would support someone else for a lifetime, after all.
Moreover, with some extra money, they could buy snacks for their children at the supermarket, or health supplements to boost vitamins and calcium… The children, who had lived in caves on the black mine planet with the adults for who knows how long, were all scrawny and malnourished.
They even heard that in a month a school would start being built. They wanted to save money for tuition, so they could send their children to school then.
Everything was developing toward a better direction…
Huo Ling stood there, dumbfounded, gazing at the messy yet hopeful scene before him. His eyes suddenly softened.
Just then, not far away, a child’s wailing cries rang out. Huo Ling turned his head and saw Sheng Nuan.
She had just splattered a child’s face with mud.
But she herself did not fare much better, her body covered in grimy mud… The few children opposite her were the same. The one who got a faceful of mud was bawling at the top of his lungs.
Hearing the crying, a few of the children’s mothers rushed over in panic. The small foreman at the construction site also came over, and upon seeing Sheng Nuan’s disheveled state, he was shocked, “Miss, what happened?”
Hearing the foreman’s address, the mothers’ expressions changed immediately. Fearful and uneasy, they tugged their children, about to kneel, when Sheng Nuan grabbed them.
“Talk is talk, but we don’t do this kind of thing here, alright?”
Sheng Nuan pointed to the children, “These little brats threw mud at me first, so I threw it back. I didn’t suffer a loss. You should educate and scold them if needed. If you think I was wrong, you can shout at me. Just remember one thing… This place is now your home. At your own doorstep, speak and act with some backbone.”
The mothers tugging their children were about to shed tears, nodding repeatedly… The naughty kid who got a faceful of mud was still crying loudly with his mouth wide open.
Seeing Sheng Nuan covered in black mud, the corners of Huo Ling’s lips curled slightly…
Sheng Nuan and Huo Ling stayed one night on Nuanyang Star, experiencing the just-built hotel and various facilities powered by solar energy. She could not help sighing how advanced technology was truly wonderful.
The next day, she and Huo Ling took a long-distance spaceship back toward the Imperial Star… Just as the ship left Nuanyang Star, Huo Ling spoke up.
“I’m not returning to Imperial Star.” He looked at Sheng Nuan, “After two warp jumps, we will arrive at the Shuangyun2 system. Someone will be there to pick me up.”
The two of them had already laid their cards on the table, so Sheng Nuan did not show any surprise. She nodded, “Oh, okay.”
Huo Ling fell silent…
However, right after they completed the first warp jump, customer service suddenly spoke up: “Host, a group of interstellar pirates is approaching.”
Sheng Nuan was taken aback. She was about to accelerate when customer service added: “This group of people is very fierce. In the original plot, they were subdued by Huo Ling and later fought very fiercely on the battlefield.”
Sheng Nuan paused, and her thoughts immediately changed.
Glancing at the wristband on her arm, Sheng Nuan’s eyes shone with light…
She had been worried about candidates for the first batch of mecha warriors, and now someone was delivering themselves right to her doorstep…

Support "QUICK TRANSMIGRATION: THE VILLAIN IS TOO PAMPERED AND ALLURING"
I have really enjoyed reading this novel and now that it’s about to end I’m feeling kind of sad. I’m wondering if the translator can recommend any novels with a similar style.
Me too T.T If you look at the NU page for this novel there are some recs there. But honestly, most QTs adopt the same formula so you probably won’t be disappointed if you browse by some popular novels for this genre. My ult fav is still Quick Transmigration System: Male God, Come Here though. It’s too funny to pass, esp if you can stomach the angst endings.
