Rapid Collapse (GL) - Chapter 41
Shen Xi flipped over and pinned her down, her cheeks flushed red. She covered Han Ning’s mouth with her hand and warned her somewhat forcefully, “You’re not allowed to speak…”
After saying that, she still wasn’t satisfied and bit Han Ning’s neck.
The sharp pain made Han Ning frown and grimace as she begged for mercy. “Hiss… Alright, alright, I won’t say anything! Please go easy on me, wife!”
Hearing her surrender, Shen Xi finally lifted her head from Han Ning’s neck, looking at her smugly. “See? Now you know how powerful I am~”
Han Ning nodded repeatedly, coaxing Shen Xi and pretending to be weak. However, her hands didn’t stay idle. By the time Shen Xi realized it, Han Ning had already touched her all over. Seeing the red marks all over her body, Shen Xi glared at Han Ning, but before she could say anything, Han Ning grinned, pressed the back of her head, and sealed her complaints with a kiss.
“Don’t bite me… Are you a dog?” Shen Xi’s eyes were hazy as she softly hummed.
“My neck still hurts from your bite…” Han Ning pointed at the bite marks on her neck with a look of grievance.
Shen Xi looked over and admitted to herself that she might have gone a bit too hard.
Feeling a little guilty, she sat up and kissed Han Ning’s neck, making a sincere apology.
“Does it really hurt? Next time, I’ll be gentler…”
Han Ning: “……”
Since they got together, the two of them had been inseparable every single day. A week later, Kou Kou returned and was shocked to see how clingy they were. Without hesitation, Han Ning gave her another vacation and sent her home to wait for further instructions.
Kou Kou left, puffing up like an angry sea urchin, waving her arms as she walked away.
Another person who was just as upset was Cheng Nian.
Because Yu Xin’s job was mainly based in Xicheng City, she couldn’t be with her all the time. Even though they had two-hour video calls daily, it was still just a cold, distant screen, offering little comfort for the pain of longing.
At this time, the affectionate behavior between Shen Xi and Han Ning felt like torture to single people like Cheng Nian. It was as if they were doing it on purpose.
While Cheng Nian was memorizing her lines for a new drama during her break, the two of them were just two meters away from her, kissing nonstop.
When she failed her physical training test and had to do extra practice, exhausted beyond words, she looked over and saw Han Ning sitting with Shen Xi, the two of them practically glued together, whispering sweet nothings to each other. Occasionally, their conversation even contained some slightly inappropriate content, making Shen Xi blush and giggle behind her hands.
Because of them, Cheng Nian nearly failed to complete her sit-ups…
“You two are seriously too much!” Cheng Nian finally passed her test, rubbed her sore waist, and glared at them before rolling her eyes and swinging her arms as she walked past them.
Watching her back, Han Ning laughed and said to Shen Xi, “Look at Cheng Nian. If you didn’t know better, you’d think she was marching in a parade.”
Shen Xi looked over and burst into laughter.
Three days later, December arrived. The temperature dropped significantly, and the first snow in Lingchao City came earlier than usual. Outdoor training was canceled, giving everyone a break. Cheng Nian eagerly went back to Xicheng to see her girlfriend.
Shen Xi and Han Ning stayed home together, living in Han Ning’s place with their two cats.
Each holding one cat, they sat on the swing on the balcony, watching the snowflakes fall outside. A sense of peace and happiness filled their hearts.
“Oh, right…” Shen Xi suddenly remembered something important. Her eyes lit up as she told Han Ning, “I remember Thunder’s birthday is in winter. When I found him, he was just a tiny, weak little thing, almost frozen to death…” She lowered her head and kissed Thunder’s head. The cat snuggled in her arms, meowed twice, and licked her hand as if expressing gratitude.
“Then let’s buy him a little cake to celebrate?” Han Ning patted the cat’s head and smiled. “Our little Thunder is turning one! From now on, we can celebrate both cats’ birthdays on this day.”
It was as if the cats understood. They happily wagged their tails. Thunder jumped down from Shen Xi’s arms and ran into the living room to play with a ball of yarn, with Lightning following close behind, having a blast together.
“Buying one is fine… but…” Shen Xi blinked and said, “I’ve always wanted to make a cake myself. I’ve watched tutorials so many times. Let’s bake a cake for the cats, okay?”
“Sure, let’s do it!” Han Ning agreed readily. Following Shen Xi’s instructions, she took out her phone and ordered all the ingredients they needed from the supermarket.
Soon, the delivery arrived. Shen Xi excitedly ran to get the package and started working in the kitchen, while Han Ning assisted her attentively.
“Ning Ning.” Shen Xi turned her head and saw how focused Han Ning was. She smiled and called her name. Han Ning looked up, “What?”
Before she could react, Shen Xi quickly dabbed some cream on her nose. Before Han Ning could say a word, Shen Xi swiftly drew three stripes on each of her cheeks with cream.
Now, she looked like a confused but elegant cat.
“Hahaha…” Shen Xi pointed at her and laughed out loud. Han Ning wasn’t about to let this go. She chased Shen Xi around the house until she caught her and returned the favor, smearing cream on her face. They went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and burst into laughter at their ridiculous appearances.
Shen Xi took out her phone, opened the camera, and prepared to take a picture. Han Ning crossed her arms and put on an expression of utter discontent, which clashed amusingly with her cute face. Shen Xi, on the other hand, smiled brightly, showing her pearly white teeth. She pressed the round capture button, and the photo was saved automatically.
Han Ning checked the picture, nodded in satisfaction, and smiled. “Not bad, not bad. Let’s take another one—I’ll smile this time.”
“Ding.”
Before Han Ning could finish speaking, a notification popped up on Shen Xi’s phone. It was from Ye Xiao.
Ye Xiao: [What are you up to?]
Shen Xi stiffened and instinctively looked at Han Ning. As expected, Han Ning’s face darkened instantly. Her smile disappeared, and she coldly questioned, “Why is she texting you?”
“I… I don’t know…” Shen Xi stammered, looking at her phone nervously.
“You don’t know?” Han Ning repeated, wiping the cream off her face and stomping off to the living room, visibly upset. Shen Xi followed carefully, watching Han Ning’s sulking expression. She cautiously sat beside her and tugged at her sleeve. “Don’t ignore me…”
Han Ning slightly turned away and gave her a sideways glance, as if saying, “Don’t touch me.”
“Look at me~” Shen Xi moved in front of her and playfully whined.
Han Ning raised an eyebrow and glared coldly. “Aren’t you going to reply? She’s waiting.”
Without hesitation, Shen Xi cupped Han Ning’s face, kissed her lips, and typed out a reply: [Busy kissing my wife.]
She hit send without a second thought and showed the message to Han Ning. “Satisfied?”
