Reasonable Loss - 11
“What do you like?”
“Yes?”
“No, I thought we should have something to drink for the meeting. I’ll prepare it.”
“Oh, okay… I’m fine with anything.”
Eunsoo smiled awkwardly. It didn’t mean anything else; it was just a social smile. But Dokwon didn’t back down easily.
“Is everything really fine?”
“Um… Then, could you please get me a latte?”
“A warm one?”
“Yes, a warm one. Um… Or should I go get it myself?”
“No, I’ll prepare it.”
“Okay, then I’ll just get the printouts ready and come up.”
Eunsoo nodded. Dokwon walked away with light steps. Eunsoo remained standing until Dokwon completely disappeared, then he slumped into his chair. He looked at his worried team members and asked, “Did we do something wrong?”
The meeting with Dokwon went differently than expected. Eunsoo kept talking, and Dokwon occasionally added comments as if he was listening. After the explanation, he asked more questions. They weren’t annoying or sarcastic questions, just straightforward inquiries.
“Why was this designed this way? What does this icon represent? When will it be completed? Can we test it on a phone now?” and so on. The questions weren’t difficult, just a bit tedious.
Then, out of the blue, Dokwon expressed interest in the app design, not app development, and requested a lunch appointment. Of course, Eunsoo couldn’t refuse his invitation as a subordinate.
After that, they continued to meet for various reasons. Dokwon created reasons to meet Eunsoo, who majored in design, by discussing art, design, and various other topics.
He asked for advice at an industrial design fair, inquired about the differences between competitor apps and their own app, expressed difficulty in deciding on a painting for the company lobby, and asked Eunsoo to accompany him to a gallery, and so on.
At first, Eunsoo didn’t like it. How could he not feel uncomfortable with a superior Alpha like Dokwon? But as time passed and they met three times, six times, and nine times, the discomfort lessened.
Dokwon wasn’t a bad person. He wasn’t lacking like the team members worried about.
He was always nice, asked for opinions before doing anything, had manners and etiquette. Eunsoo thought he was just seeking advice, but when Eunsoo subtly expressed his opinions, Dokwon listened attentively and made decisions based on those opinions.
Most of all, the food they shared was exceptional.
Eunsoo had lived abroad for a long time, had some financial freedom from his parents’ inheritance, and had experienced many good dishes. He thought he had a discerning palate. However, the food Dokwon provided surpassed his expectations.
The unfamiliar dishes that were hard to remember brought a smile to his face as soon as he tasted them.
As a result, Eunsoo began to look forward to his meetings with Dokwon. Discussing art and design with him was enjoyable, the accompanying food was excellent, and Dokwon’s face across the table was enchanting.
Before he knew it, they exchanged personal messages, had lunch together without any specific reason, drank wine, watched movies, and so on.
Accidentally brushing hands, unintentionally sensing pheromones, changing from ‘Team Leader Yoo’ to ‘Eunsoo,’ from ‘Director’ to ‘Dokwon,’ and then feeling a tingling emotion that evolved into love happened in the blink of an eye.
At first, he liked Dokwon for his handsome face and good manners. Later, he also liked his large hands, broad shoulders, muscular chest, and thick thighs.
He couldn’t help but glance at the chest muscles peeking under the shirt, swallow dryly at the protruding hips beyond the suit pants, and unconsciously admire the firm thighs.
He liked the deep gaze that looked at him, felt a rush of excitement at the lips moving while drinking wine, and a sense of melting when those lips called him softly.
Eunsoo fell for Dokwon without hesitation. When they reached the peak of their happiness, everything fell apart.
