Reasonable Loss - 26
Eunsoo looked at Dokwon with a solemn expression.
Dokwon also looked directly at Eunsoo.
The two stared at each other for a while.
Then Dokwon was the first to speak.
“You said earlier that you smelled my scent every day. That means we met every day. Was that just a figure of speech, or did I really meet you every day?”
“We met every day.”
At Eunsoo’s firm answer, Dokwon’s eyes narrowed slightly.
His expression showed that he couldn’t believe Eunsoo’s words.
It was understandable.
Dokwon was a very busy person.
As a director and Myunghee’s only son, his schedule was always packed, divided into hourly slots.
In the midst of that, to meet an unremarkable omega every day.
It was natural to find it strange.
But Eunsoo continued speaking as if he found nothing odd about it.
“We ate lunch together, and dinner too. You refused all meal meetings to eat with me, which troubled Secretary Jung.”
Dokwon laughed again in disbelief.
No matter how infatuated he might have been with an omega, he wouldn’t have acted like that, unable to distinguish between public and private matters.
According to Eunsoo’s words, he had behaved no differently from a love-struck fool.
Dokwon closed the newspaper he had been reading with a thud.
Secretary Jung had selected it to help fill in the four years of economic data that had evaporated from his mind, so he needed to read it quickly.
To do that, he would first need to get Eunsoo out of his sight.
Dokwon crossed his legs at an angle and stared at Eunsoo.
“My mother said we met at the company.”
“Yes.”
“Then you must have known well who I am and whose son I am.”
“Yes. As a team leader, I naturally knew all the executive information.”
“Knew?”
“I had an obligation to greet you warmly even if I happened to meet you by chance.”
“…”
“In fact, even if I wasn’t a team leader, I would have known. Doesn’t anyone with even a little interest in economics know which company’s only son you are?”
Eunsoo spoke indifferently.
He didn’t seem very interested in Dokwon’s background, so he didn’t like having this conversation.
He thought it would be much more helpful in recovering memories to recite their shared memories instead of wasting time on this.
But unlike Eunsoo, Dokwon’s eyes sparkled.
He tapped the sofa armrest with his index finger.
