Reasonable Loss - 62
On the TV screen, a hero and a villain were clashing and breaking the earth, but none of that mattered at all. Dokwon’s eyes were entirely focused on Eunsoo. Eunsoo’s eyes, her lips, and the enchanting pheromones emanating from her completely dominated the world.
“Let’s eat here again tomorrow night.”
Dokwon whispered softly.
“…Yes.”
Eunsoo nodded, as if entranced by something.
With that, their lips met again. The two of them kissed intensely. It was as if they were trying to make up for months of separation in a single day. It felt as though they were compensating for all the time they couldn’t be together.
Their lips and tongues moved rapidly. Their nostrils never stopped sniffing each other’s scent. His hands lightly stroked her neck, nape, shoulders, and back in a strangely tender way.
All of this felt so loving. At least to Eunsoo, it did.
Although Dokwon had softened recently, he was still a world apart from the person he used to be when they were dating. But this kiss felt like it was easing the heartache from before, and Eunsoo was happy, even excited, thinking that if he could just hold on a bit longer, the real Dokwon would return to him.
Eunsoo faintly smiled and buried himself deeper into Dokwon’s arms.
Eunsoo’s lips, swollen like sausages, leaned back as he slouched on the sofa. He felt dizzy, like he had drunk too much. After so long, her body, accepting the alpha’s pheromones again, felt like it was melting. He felt like an octopus, with no bones or muscles.
Thinking about it, he suddenly craved fried squid.
He had left some unfinished earlier. Should he eat it?
Eunsoo let his random thoughts wander, when Dokwon, having finished cleaning up, approached. Being a neat freak, he always took care of cleaning. Eunsoo usually postponed the cleaning or dishes, leaving it for a later day.
But since meeting Dokwon, he had been doing it immediately, so he never had to deal with it all at once. Of course, recently, since Dokwon hadn’t been coming to his place, he had started piling up household chores again.
Remembering the laundry piling up at home, Eunsoo scrunched his nose, and Dokwon, sitting next to him, gently brushed Eunsoo’s bangs.
“Are you hurt?”
“No.”
Eunsoo shook his head. Even though he clearly denied it, Dokwon pressed his palm against his forehead to check his temperature and subtly scanned his body to see if there was any real injury.
Watching him, Eunsoo quietly moved his lips.
“But… I’m curious about something.”
“Yes, ask away.”
“Why did you suddenly change?”
“…What do you mean?”
“No, like when we were at the hospital, and when you came to my house last time. You acted like you’d never see me again, but then a few hours later, you sent me a message saying sorry and asking me to have dinner together.”
When he had received his message while with Seongheon, he was happy, but it also felt a bit strange.
Eunsoo understood his cold actions. An accident had happened, and when he woke up, the world was different. In the midst of all that, he was told that an omega, smelling bad, claimed to be his lover and that he was carrying his child. It would have been more strange if he hadn’t reacted the way he did.
Moreover, he had heard about his past from Seongheon.
But he didn’t understand why he suddenly became kind to her. As he had said, their love’s traces were everywhere, and it was possible he feared regretting it later when his memories returned.
But the Dokwon he had seen until now wasn’t someone who would be afraid of such things.
It was more like, “What’s going to happen in the future? Who cares? Right now, I’m an omega, and I couldn’t care less.”
Dokwon’s lips formed a tight line. Eunsoo stared at him. What was it? What was the reason that made him quiet?
He felt nervous, not expecting this reaction. Was it because of what Myunghee had threatened Dokwon with? That if he didn’t treat Eunsoo well, he would lose his job? Or was he pretending to be kind because of concerns about public image? He was nervous thinking that maybe he still found him disgusting and was only staying by his side out of obligation.
