Reborn as a Scummy Alpha, I Became Every Heroine's Obsession (GL) - Chapter 13
Gu Qiqi asked, “The Omega?”
“The one who was forced into sensitivity in Zone B of the 330 Military Academy,” Wen Rui answered. She wore a soft pink dress and had just slipped through the crowd to stand in front of Gu Qiqi.
Gu Qiqi remembered. “How is she doing now?”
Wen Rui smiled, her eyes curving gently. “Thanks to you, she’s fine. She was safely returned to the Liu family afterward.”
Liu Huaiqing offered a warm, graceful smile as she held out a glass of champagne toward Gu Qiqi.
She had the look of a classic beauty—slim figure, delicate features, a small oval face, slender eyebrows, and eyes that shimmered like water in autumn. Her lips were a soft red, and a faint blush colored her cheeks.
She wore a light teal qipao that reached down to her ankles, and around her wrist was a jade bracelet that gave off a soft green glow. Her long fingers held the stem of the champagne glass with practiced elegance.
“Miss Gu,” she said softly, “thank you.”
After speaking, she lifted her own glass and took a sip.
Truthfully, Liu Huaiqing was the only person Gu Qiqi had met in the central city who didn’t feel hostile at first glance.
But she remembered that moment in the dimly lit lounge—when she had released a surge of pheromones, Liu Huaiqing had been holding a small knife, her eyes fixed on the artery in Gu Qiqi’s neck.
Now, though, her expression was warm and gentle.
Gu Qiqi remained cautious, but it didn’t seem appropriate to embarrass Liu Huaiqing in front of others.
Still, something didn’t add up.
She remembered clearly that the Omega she had saved—according to the Alphas surrounding her at the time—was from the outer districts. So how could she be Liu Huaiqing’s sister? Wasn’t Liu Huaiqing from one of the three major families?
[System]: That’s because Liu Huaiqing wasn’t born in the central city. She was born in the outer districts. She’s the illegitimate daughter of the Liu family’s patriarch. The Omega is her half-sister—they share the same father. For families wealthy enough to rival nations, raising one more Omega costs little. In fact, a fully grown Omega has great value to them. This isn’t a secret in high society. Most of the major families are aware of the Liu family’s situation, which is why many of them refuse to accept Liu’s Omegas as mates.
Gu Qiqi took the champagne glass, brought it to her lips, tilted her head back, and finished it in one smooth motion. Then she handed the empty glass to a nearby attendant.
“No need to thank me,” she said simply.
Liu Huaiqing nodded politely in return.
Wen Rui giggled, her youthful face dimpled with faint dimples. “Little Qiqi, you’ve really grown up. Your face has filled out, and once that messy hair got styled, you actually ended up with one of the trendiest cuts. It looks really good.”
As she spoke, she reached out as if to pat Gu Qiqi’s head.
But just then, Feng Jiying gave a soft cough and stepped forward, silently positioning herself between Wen Rui and Gu Qiqi—blocking the raised hand with subtle precision.
“Your sister is looking for you,” Feng Jiying said coolly.
Wen Rui turned in the direction Feng Jiying was looking and, sure enough, spotted Wen Cheng standing not far away with a frown on her face, clearly searching for her.
“Oh no—sorry, Qiqi. Looks like I have to go,” Wen Rui said cheerfully before quickly excusing herself.
Liu Huaiqing also quietly stepped away, but she didn’t leave completely. Instead, she stood in the shadows, silently watching Gu Qiqi’s back.
Gu Qiqi muttered to herself, puzzled, “Wen Rui seems kind of afraid of Wen Cheng.”
Feng Jiying let out a cold and faint hum. “You seem to care about her quite a bit.”
Gu Qiqi raised an eyebrow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
The two of them entered the main banquet hall and found a sofa to sit on. They settled in casually, though the tension between them still lingered.
Feng Jiying reached up and smoothed her long hair back from her neck. “Xiao Bai’s gland removal surgery—Wen Rui was the one who performed it.”
Gu Qiqi’s eyes widened instantly.
Wen Rui? Wasn’t she always talking about traditional medicine? She had always been focused on studying ancient medical practices left behind by early human civilizations.
Even when they were younger, Wen Rui had seemed a little strange and spiritual—always off in her own world.
Before Gu Qiqi could finish processing this surprising bit of information, Feng Jiying turned her head slightly. With the same calm expression she always wore, she leaned in close and said quietly in Gu Qiqi’s ear:
“Pathetic.”
Gu Qiqi stared at her, stunned.
“What?” Her eyes widened in disbelief.
The banquet hall was lively with music and polite chatter. Guests mingled and made small talk. But on the sofa, Gu Qiqi and Feng Jiying sat perfectly still, their backs straight and posture composed.
From behind, they looked calm and unbothered.
But from the side, it was a very different story.
Gu Qiqi had quietly reached out and placed two fingers on Feng Jiying’s arm. She was pinching her, slow and deliberate.
Feng Jiying’s lips twitched slightly, but her face remained cool. “Didn’t you say people from the central city are pathetic? So why did you drink the champagne so eagerly when one of us offered it to you?”
“You drank it without hesitation. That makes you pathetic too.”
Feng Jiying was rarely emotional, and almost never petty. But right now, she sounded almost childish—on purpose.
Gu Qiqi wasn’t the type to back down either.
She’d grown up in the outer districts. Even without power or support, she never let anyone push her around. She had fought her way through life using her own strength.
So now, after being called out for no reason, she wasn’t about to stay quiet.
She kept pinching Feng Jiying’s arm, low-key but persistent.
Normally, Feng Jiying would’ve just ignored it. But today—maybe because of Gu Qiqi’s presence—she didn’t feel like putting up with it.
Without a word, she reached over and placed her hand on Gu Qiqi’s thigh.
Then she pinched her back—hard.
Gu Qiqi gritted her teeth and let out a muffled grunt.
Gu Qiqi clenched her teeth and said, “The famous President Feng—someone who holds the lives of millions in her hands—and yet you’re this petty and spiteful? Aren’t you afraid people will find out and laugh at you?”
While the two of them continued their subtle back-and-forth, they unintentionally overheard whispers from behind.
“That’s Feng Jiying’s Alpha? I heard she’s from the outer districts. The federal government forced their genetic pairing. Supposedly, their compatibility score is one hundred percent.”
Two male Omegas spoke just loudly enough for everyone nearby to hear.
“What? A hundred percent genetic match? Isn’t that something out of a medical myth? Alphas and Omegas with that kind of match are practically bonded for life. An Omega can’t resist an Alpha’s pheromones in a pairing like that.”
“My dad told me, don’t be fooled by how high and mighty Feng Jiying acts. She’s the only Omega in this generation of the Feng family. If they really hand her over to the government and let her be paired with some Alpha from the outer districts, it’ll destroy the family. The elders are already scheming to take her shares back.”
“She’s always acted like she’s above everyone. It’s about time someone knocked her down a few pegs.”
“Right? Honestly, I thought she wouldn’t even show up tonight. But here she is, bold enough to bring that poor-looking Alpha with her.”
The two Omegas laughed softly between themselves.
Gu Qiqi glanced over at Feng Jiying.
Feng Jiying didn’t even look at them. Her expression stayed perfectly calm, not giving those two a single glance.
Seeing her lack of reaction, the Omegas got bolder. Their laughter grew louder, their words more venomous.
“Do you think that Alpha from the outer districts has ever eaten garbage? I heard they fight with stray dogs for food over there. Hahaha—”
“You’re being awful, but I kind of believe it. Maybe we should ask her. I’ve heard Alphas from the outer districts kneel when they see a central city Omega, like they’re seeing a god.”
Just as Gu Qiqi thought Feng Jiying would let it all slide without a reaction—
Feng Jiying suddenly turned, reached out, and grabbed the gene-suppressing collar around Gu Qiqi’s neck. Then she leaned in close.
Her warm breath brushed against Gu Qiqi’s face, carrying a faint bitterness—probably from coffee. Then, she gently kissed the small pendant on the collar.
In that moment, Gu Qiqi’s spiritual power, no longer restrained by the collar, surged out without warning.
It hit like a wave—directly targeting the two Omega men who were still laughing.
Their eyes widened in shock. Instinctively, they grabbed their necks.
The pressure came crashing down like a steel press. With a heavy thud, both men dropped to their knees. Their kneecaps cracked, bl00d seeping onto the floor. The overwhelming spiritual force pushed their heads down toward the ground.
Feng Jiying took Gu Qiqi’s hand and stood up.
Together, they walked slowly toward the two Omegas now kneeling in agony, crushed by the force.
Feng Jiying looked down at them like they were nothing but insects. Her expression remained calm and distant, completely emotionless.
She let out a quiet, cold laugh.
“Didn’t someone say I was petty and held grudges?”
At that moment, Gu Qiqi’s wrist terminal chimed with a notification.
“10,000 credits have been added to your account.”
