Reborn as a Scummy Alpha, I Became Every Heroine's Obsession (GL) - Chapter 16
In the central city, information was deeply interconnected. Whenever something happened, the Federation could respond almost instantly.
Public security officers, along with the hotel’s event security team, surrounded the venue within moments. All the weaker Omegas were evacuated and safely removed from the danger zone.
Alpha pheromone suppressants, shaped like water bombs, were thrown onto the ground. As they burst, the airborne chemicals dulled the Alphas’ sense of smell and suppressed their pheromones and mental strength. The brawl came to an abrupt halt before it could escalate further.
Because of that, Feng Jiying never got the chance to bite the small pendant on Gu Qiqi’s genetic confirmation collar.
Not that it was necessary. The unprepared Alphas had no chance against Gu Qiqi.
Following her principle of finishing things while the enemy was down, she landed a few solid punches to wrap it up properly.
All the Alphas were taken away—including Gu Qiqi.
Before leaving, Wen Cheng shot a warning glance at Wen Rui. “Stop treating everything like a joke. Not everyone gets to walk away in one piece.”
Wen Rui just rolled her eyes and gave a lazy smile, still wearing her usual fox-like expression of indifference.
Right before leaving, she glanced over at Feng Jiying and spoke with a half-smile.
“Qiqi’s from the outer districts. Getting caught up in a public fight like this won’t go unnoticed. Getting her out of trouble unharmed is going to take some real effort. I wonder if President Feng is willing to get her hands dirty.”
She paused, voice sweet but sharp underneath. “Of course, if you’re not, I won’t just stand by either. Never mind that Qiqi used to be my girlfriend—what matters is that she stepped up to protect all of us. She didn’t have a choice but to fight those Alphas. I’m not so heartless that I’d ignore that. And I’m sure President Feng isn’t either… right?”
As she said it, her lips curled slightly. She couldn’t help thinking about how Gu Qiqi had moved—fast, agile, like a little leopard. And those punches near the end? Absolutely ruthless.
This Gu Qiqi… she really hadn’t changed at all.
Interrogation Room
Gu Qiqi sat back in the chair, legs crossed, with one foot resting casually on the table.
Her left leg rested over her right in a relaxed, confident posture.
The interrogation staff didn’t know what to do with her. All they could do was speak to her politely and cautiously. After all, there was a classified order from the Federation president—Gu Qiqi was a protected individual.
That detail was top secret.
At that moment, Wen Cheng pushed the door open and walked inside. The moment the staff saw her, they acted as if they’d seen a goddess. They nodded quickly and left the room.
Wen Cheng sat down and tapped her fingers on the table.
Gu Qiqi looked up, unconcerned. “Alright, go ahead. What’s the punishment? I really don’t care.”
[System]: Congratulations, Host. You just avoided a major… unspeakable plot event. Back at the banquet entrance, if Alpha pheromones had been released, they would have triggered sensitivity phases in many Omegas, leading to a scene that would’ve been… unmentionable. Your interference prevented that, and also changed your outcome in the process.
Wen Cheng wore the standard work vest issued by the academy. Her deltoid muscles were full and well-defined, and the lines of her arms were smooth and powerful. Her high ponytail was tied neatly, with a few loose strands falling naturally across her forehead. Her features were sharp and refined—clearly identical to Wen Rui’s—but their auras were completely different.
“If you’re not scared, then why are you bouncing your leg?”
Gu Qiqi replied flatly, “I’m bored.”
Wen Cheng leaned back in the chair. “You went up against over twenty Alphas and walked away without a single bruise. Looks like I really underestimated you.”
Gu Qiqi narrowed her eyes. “That kind of compliment always comes with a slap. You’re definitely up to something.”
Wen Cheng: “…”
“You dated my annoying twin sister. No wonder you’re just as irritating as she is.”
Gu Qiqi said calmly, “The fact that they replaced the interrogator with you means I haven’t been expelled from the central city. That also means the central city still has a use for me. But I’m just an average, freshly-differentiated nobody. What could they possibly need from me?”
Despite Gu Qiqi’s indifferent tone, Wen Cheng could tell—she was sharp. Smart enough to see through the setup.
Wen Cheng finally gave a proper answer. “The headmaster pulled some strings to protect you. In exchange, you’ve been given a mission—a chance to make up for your actions. You’re to lead your class in rescuing Liu Huaiqing.”
Gu Qiqi frowned. “Liu Huaiqing? An Omega going missing is a serious issue for the Federation. They’re really sending a bunch of clueless cadets like us to do the job? That sounds like a joke.”
Wen Cheng replied, “Liu Huaiqing is a student at the military academy. The news has been completely locked down. If it gets out, it could damage the school’s reputation—and shake the public’s trust in the Federation.”
Gu Qiqi’s voice turned cold. “So, if we bring her back, it’s a perfect story. If we don’t… they’ll just say she died accidentally.”
Wen Cheng’s gaze finally turned serious. She looked Gu Qiqi in the eye. “You really are clever. But listen carefully—this mission is top secret. Aside from you and your classmates, no one else can know.”
Gu Qiqi let out a cold scoff. “So, lives from the outer districts really are cheap.”
What Gu Qiqi didn’t expect was that when she stepped out of the interrogation room—Feng Jiying was waiting for her.
The sky was already dark. A gentle breeze blew through the night air. Feng Jiying was still wearing the same elegant dress from the banquet.
Her shoulders were slightly hunched, subtle but noticeable—and Gu Qiqi caught it in an instant.
Without a word, she took off her suit jacket and placed it over Feng Jiying’s shoulders.
A soft, sweet scent lingered gently around Feng Jiying.
It was completely different from the powerful, aggressive pheromones filled with territorial dominance she had experienced before.
Feng Jiying felt her mind stir, but her face remained unreadable—still calm, still cold.
Feng Jiying said evenly, “We can’t be apart for more than eight hours within a day.”
Gu Qiqi nodded. “I know. But I just got a message from my terminal. The academy will be doing closed training for the next few days, so I might not be able to stay close to you, President Feng.”
As she spoke, Gu Qiqi lifted her hand. Her five fingers opened slightly, and a soft golden light began to form in her palm.
“This is a pheromone sugar cube. I can handle the shocks from the collar, but if you can’t, maybe just take a sniff… or drop it in your coffee?”
Looking at Gu Qiqi’s carefree expression, Feng Jiying’s temple twitched. She was just about to reach out when Gu Qiqi pinched her fingers together and said lightly, “One hundred thousand credits.”
Later that night, in Feng Jiying’s room
Her beautiful face was furrowed with discomfort. A light sheen of sweat gathered along her temples.
She shifted uneasily in bed. A strange tingling sensation crept up from deep within her bones.
It was an aching, buzzing feeling, one that made her feel weak from the inside out.
The scene from the banquet returned in vivid detail.
The woman before her—face still blurred in her mind—reached out with slender fingers, brushing lightly against her neck. The surrounding air was filled with an overwhelming sweetness.
Pheromones wrapped around her like a net, suffocating, intense.
They carried with them a sense of fierce dominance, possessiveness—something that demanded submission and left no room for resistance.
Their lips were just about to touch—
Feng Jiying’s eyes snapped open. She sat upright in bed, breathing heavily. Her room was filled with the thick scent of her own released pheromones.
The AI assistant Huanhuan chimed in gently:
[President, you’re awake. Did you dream about an Alpha again? Today marks the final day of your sensitivity cycle. The symptoms are flaring up again.]
Feng Jiying let out a long breath and gritted her teeth. “Shut up.”
*[Who~ is my… groom~ to be? Don’t~ let me… search aimlessly… don’t~ let me…]
Feng Jiying threw an arm over her eyes and collapsed back onto the bed.
There was no way she was going to be ruled by her pheromones.
This was all Gu Qiqi’s fault.
