Reborn as a Scummy Alpha, I Became Every Heroine's Obsession (GL) - Chapter 19
Feng Jiying calmly set down the kettle of hot water.
Xiao Bai immediately jumped up. “President, that water’s boiling! Didn’t it burn you?”
She rushed over to clean up, glancing at Feng Jiying’s calm face again. Still not convinced, she asked once more, “President, are you really not burned?”
Feng Jiying stood up. “I’m fine.”
Her voice was as cold and distant as always, but the slight twitch at her temple betrayed her pain.
Xiao Bai quickly gathered the documents soaked in coffee. “President, next time just call me to make the coffee. There’s no need to trouble yourself.”
Even though Feng Jiying had already turned away, the voice from the interstellar broadcast still filled the room.
“Gu Qiqi, an alpha from the Outer Zone, is currently studying at Military Academy 330. According to school records, her mental strength is ranked S+. During an omega rescue mission, she completed the task in just three hours—faster than Central City’s former prodigy alpha, Wen Cheng. Who would’ve thought such a powerful person grew up in the Outer Zone? Could it be that the advantages of Central City are about to be overturned? Are there more like her out there?
It’s said that the omega in Gu Qiqi’s arms is Liu Huaqing, heiress of the prestigious Liu family—one of the top three families in Central City. A stunning beauty, reportedly showing over 80% compatibility with this alpha from the Outer Zone…”
Feng Jiying let out a cold scoff. “Turn it off.”
Xiao Bai had just finished tidying up and gave a small gasp.
“President, it’s a live interstellar broadcast. It can’t be turned off. We were in the middle of a projection meeting, and the broadcast was injected directly. The Federal Government has the authority to do that… unless you want to cancel the rest of the meeting?”
Feng Jiying rubbed her brow, a rare trace of frustration appearing on her face.
She didn’t understand why, but something about this made her feel restless.
Feng Jiying sighed. “Forget it. Let the broadcast finish. The meeting will go on as planned.”
The elders of the Feng family were already stirring, itching to use a distant alpha relative to fight for control of the Feng Corporation. But the company had been built by her parents from the ground up. Since she could remember, she had poured her heart into managing it. She would never let it fall into the hands of those with impure intentions.
“This is a critical time,” Feng Jiying said flatly. “We can’t give them anything to use against us.”
Xiao Bai’s hands paused. She understood exactly what the president meant.
Just because they were omegas, even someone as competent and capable as President Feng still faced constant judgment. Those alphas—many of them completely useless—only cared about self-indulgence, yet society handed them every advantage simply because of their gender.
Feng Jiying changed into a fresh suit, returned to her seat, and took a slow sip of coffee. But her mind couldn’t stop replaying the image from the broadcast.
A strong, steady alpha holding a delicate, frightened omega.
The alpha was young and full of vitality. His unruly features radiated masculine energy. His muscular arm held the omega securely. The omega leaned helplessly against his chest.
The alpha wore a sleek, dark-gray combat uniform that emphasized his narrow waist and long legs. The shaken omega was dressed in a pale blue qipao, her clothes slightly disheveled. A few strands of hair floated freely in the air.
They walked out from a ruined building, surrounded by smoke and dust.
The image was striking—almost too vivid to ignore.
Feng Jiying slowly exhaled and leaned back in her chair. Then, out of nowhere, she asked:
“Xiao Bai, do you ever let someone else affect your emotions?”
Xiao Bai had just finished tidying the desk and was about to plop back into her seat when she froze mid-motion.
Hearing Feng Jiying’s sudden question, she immediately straightened up.
“No, I don’t. My gland was removed a long time ago—I’m not affected by pheromones at all, so I naturally don’t get emotionally influenced by others.”
She blinked her big, innocent eyes. “President… did someone affect your emotions?”
Feng Jiying pressed her lips together and didn’t respond.
Xiao Bai waved her hand lightly, trying to ease the mood. “Actually, President, there’s no need to take it to heart. Ever since the human race evolved into six genders in interstellar society, both alphas and omegas are affected by pheromones because of their glands. It’s irreversible, and it’s not something anyone can control. So, please don’t stress too much about it.”
She added cheerfully, “Besides, President, you just have to spend three months living with Gu Qiqi. As long as we fool those nosy people in the Federal Government, they won’t do anything to you. Isn’t that right? Ten days have already passed—three months will go by in no time.”
Strangely, rather than calming her, Xiao Bai’s words only made Feng Jiying feel more agitated.
“I never said Gu Qiqi was the one affecting my emotions,” Feng Jiying said, her tone cold.
“Got it,” Xiao Bai replied immediately. “President would never get worked up over an alpha. It’s clearly those crusty old fossils from the Gu family—they never shut up. Blah, blah, blah, all day long.”
Feng Family Villa
The interstellar broadcast had just ended.
And just like that, Gu Qiqi became the hottest name across the entire galaxy.
A young alpha with S+ mental strength, a stunning face and figure, and an extraordinarily gentle attitude toward omegas, Gu Qiqi was quickly hailed as a rare gem in Central City.
In the replay comments section of the broadcast, arguments among viewers had already broken out:
[Are you an omega blind or what? He’s from the Outer Zone! You really want to marry someone from the bottom ranks?]
[Ugh, that alpha’s pheromones are way too strong. Can we not glorify someone so selfish? If Central City’s alphas were even half this decent, no one would bother with Outer Zone trash. Maybe start by looking inward instead of being so hostile.]
[Gu Qiqi goes to Military Academy 330—that’s literally next door! Sisters, brothers, this is your chance!]
Gu Qiqi scrolled through the trending headlines on the interstellar network, bored out of her mind.
System: “Host, you’re famous now. Are you really not going to take this chance to request a household registration change from the Interstellar Federal Government? You could leap into elite status instantly.”
Gu Qiqi didn’t think being famous was anything to celebrate.
Just then, her terminal buzzed with an incoming video call.
It was from Feng Jiying.
Gu Qiqi tapped “accept.”
The screen lit up to reveal Feng Jiying—poised and elegant, sitting upright at her desk, her flawless figure framed perfectly on camera. Her long, narrow almond-shaped eyes stared coldly and sharply at Gu Qiqi, completely devoid of warmth.
Feng Jiying spoke first.
“Looks like Miss Gu has been enjoying her days out quite a bit.”
Gu Qiqi raised an eyebrow. “Eh, it’s been okay. Thanks to you, President Feng, I managed to earn some extra cash.”
Feng Jiying let out a short, cold laugh.
“Well, thanks to you, I’ll be receiving an inspection visit after work today. The Federal Government is sending observers to the Feng family villa.”
Gu Qiqi blinked. “Inspecting what?”
Feng Jiying’s lips curled into a cool, ironic smile. Her eyes landed on Gu Qiqi’s exposed forearm.
“They’ll be evaluating how well you and I are getting along. I told you—if you just behaved and stayed out of the spotlight, you’d be free after three months.”
Gu Qiqi looked confused. “Stayed out of the spotlight? What did I do?”
Feng Jiying lightly tapped her index finger.
“You and Liu Huaqing appeared together on the interstellar network. Now, the Federal Government suspects our relationship isn’t developing as expected. If they decide it’s not progressing…”
Gu Qiqi frowned. “Then what?”
Feng Jiying said flatly, “Then we’ll be forced into a ‘sensitive period’—we’ll have to engage in pheromone interaction.”
Gu Qiqi’s jaw dropped. “What?!”
Wasn’t that basically the classic setup from a NSFW otome game? That would mean doing that, wouldn’t it? No way. She’d worked so hard to change her fate—she wasn’t going to fall back into some pre-written role.
Feng Jiying continued, unfazed.
“When I return to the villa after work, the inspectors will be there in disguise. I need you to be mentally prepared… and cooperate with me. We have to put on a convincing show.”
Gu Qiqi shot up from the couch, eyes blazing with resolve.
“Don’t worry, President Feng! I’ll cooperate fully. I’ll make sure we pass with flying colors. I won’t let those disgusting people hurt you or me.”
Looking at Gu Qiqi—so energetic, so determined, and just a little naïve—Feng Jiying’s heart gave a sudden, inexplicable flutter.
It felt like a breeze from a warm sea, carrying the scent of spring rain, brushing across a quietly sprouting seedling in a field of dewy grass.
