Reborn as a Scummy Alpha, I Became Every Heroine's Obsession (GL) - Chapter 23
As Wen Rui leaned in close, Gu Qiqi didn’t flinch.
With a calm, expressionless face, she raised one hand and pressed her palm between them, gently pushing Wen Rui’s face away.
“I’m never going to trust a snake like you again,” Gu Qiqi said flatly.
But Wen Rui didn’t get upset. Instead, she rubbed her soft, smooth cheek against Gu Qiqi’s palm with a teasing smile. “It’s okay. I’m not like the petty Feng Jiying. I believe little Qiqi must have her own reasons.”
The crowd at the school gate was growing by the minute. Wen Rui straightened up and took a step back, keeping a safe distance from Gu Qiqi—just in case any nosy alphas decided to come stir up trouble.
Wen Rui waved her little decorative fan lazily. “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you.”
The fox-like smile on her face faded just slightly. “You saved Liu Huaiqing’s life. That’s a big deal. Today is Military Academy 330’s award ceremony.” She leaned closer to Gu Qiqi and whispered into her ear, “I know you want to stay in Central City. You want to bring people in with you. But I’ll give you some sisterly advice—stay away from Liu Huaiqing. Getting involved with her will only bring you bad luck.”
Before Gu Qiqi could say anything, Wen Rui suddenly reached out and, standing on tiptoe, quickly ruffled Gu Qiqi’s hair.
“It’s been three years, and little Qiqi’s already grown so tall… turned into a strong alpha. Makes me feel like… maybe we should rekindle things.”
Gu Qiqi’s jaw twitched. She was never going to fall for this manipulative woman again.
But she didn’t want to let Wen Rui keep the upper hand either.
A mischievous thought crossed her mind. Gu Qiqi bent down slightly, lifted Wen Rui’s chin with a finger, and said with a teasing smile, “I’m going to spend three months with each of you three omegas. If you really want to rekindle our past, Sister Wen, you’ll need to show some sincerity. Otherwise… someone else might snatch me away.”
Wen Rui’s smile didn’t change. That ever-present foxlike grin remained as she lifted a finger and flicked away Gu Qiqi’s hand from her chin.
“Naughty little Qiqi… but I like it,” she said sweetly.
Her sugar-coated voice and those adorable dimples made her look as harmless as a kitten.
But Gu Qiqi knew better. She knew just how ruthless and heartless the woman in front of her really was.
A chill ran through her. Her skin broke out in goosebumps.
Wen Rui’s fake smile still made her feel sick.
Not wanting to play along anymore, Gu Qiqi turned and walked away.
Wen Rui watched her leave, her delicate little fan now folded shut, tapping her chin absentmindedly.
Her smile remained, out of habit more than anything—but her eyes held no warmth at all.
For the first time, Wen Rui felt a flicker of regret.
She should have re-evaluated Gu Qiqi the moment she reappeared in Central City as a fully awakened alpha.
There was something strange about her…
Gu Qiqi carried the pheromones of two omegas.
One scent belonged to Liu Huaiqing, gentle and filled with a desire to please.
The other belonged to Feng Jiying, dominant and possessive.
If it had been the old Gu Qiqi, Wen Rui would have felt confident. Back then, Gu Qiqi wouldn’t have been noticed by either of those omegas.
But now, Wen Rui was starting to doubt herself.
Back when they were in the outer district, she had once given herself to Gu Qiqi just to survive, just for a bite of food.
For someone as calculating and proud as her, that memory was deeply humiliating.
But now, Gu Qiqi had changed. She had awakened as an alpha, and not just any alpha—an S-plus-ranked alpha with powerful mental strength.
Wen Rui’s fox-like eyes narrowed, thoughtful.
It was strange. She had never really been interested in this unruly ex-girlfriend of hers.
So why did the scent of other omegas on Gu Qiqi now irritate her so much?
After all, when she first heard Gu Qiqi had come to Central City, she had assumed it was to find her.
If it ever came to that, for the sake of the bigger picture, she would not hesitate to eliminate her.
She refused to be a sacrifice for anyone—not for her family, not for anything.
And if no one else was going to look out for her, then she would do it herself. There was nothing wrong with that, was there?
At Military Academy 330, many of the alphas who saw Gu Qiqi no longer looked at her with rejection or contempt.
Instead, their eyes showed respect—maybe even admiration.
After all, she was just a first-year student when she walked into a dangerous, abandoned building alone and rescued a helpless, frightened omega who had been waiting desperately for help.
It was undeniably impressive.
Thanks to widespread coverage on the Interstellar Federation’s network, Gu Qiqi had become a dream figure in the hearts of many omegas.
Her S-plus mental strength added even more charm to her name, turning her into an icon.
Some alphas even tried to get close to her, looking for any excuse to start a conversation and maybe become friends.
They just wanted to be near the legendary “dream alpha” adored by omegas.
But Gu Qiqi herself didn’t even know about the award until the moment it was being presented.
Clearly, to the headmaster, the award itself wasn’t the point.
What really mattered to him was that the omega, allegedly kidnapped by the black market had returned unharmed.
That allowed him to keep his illegal deals hidden under the black market’s name.
Song Lin jogged over and tapped Gu Qiqi’s shoulder.
“Gu-jie, do you have any idea how cool you looked during that Interstellar Federation livestream? Half the alphas on the network are using screenshots of you carrying the omega as their profile picture now.”
Even though Gu Qiqi was the youngest among the students, it didn’t stop Song Lin from calling her “Gu-jie.”
After all, alphas respected strength and Gu Qiqi’s true mental power was not just S-plus.
She was a rare 3S-plus alpha.
But Gu Qiqi didn’t like showing off, and she wasn’t familiar with how to truly release her mental power.
Because of that, most people assumed her mental strength was just at the S-plus level.
Even so, S-plus was already outstanding among alphas.
However, when Gu Qiqi awakened as an alpha, her actual level was 3S-plus—an extremely rare and legendary rank in the Interstellar Era.
Gu Qiqi stood before everyone and spoke calmly, “Rescuing the omega wasn’t just my effort. It only worked because of everyone’s help. Without Senior Wen Cheng’s planning, without Song Lin redirecting the security footage, without Gu Qingyun and Yun San Nanqi supporting me from outside, I wouldn’t have been able to charge in on my own. So this award doesn’t just belong to me—it belongs to our entire class.”
Her words left the crowd stunned.
Alphas were known to be selfish by nature.
They fiercely guarded their possessions—whether it was an omega or a moment of glory.
If it had been someone like Wen Rui, he would’ve practically claimed the award with his name engraved on it and made sure the entire world knew it was his alone.
But Gu Qiqi had chosen to share the credit. She included everyone.
And that made people look at her with even more respect.
Even Gu Qingyun was surprised. After a brief pause, he said, “You should be our class president. No one else fits the role better.”
Yun San and Nan Qi both nodded in agreement. “Exactly. When it comes time to vote, my vote’s going to Sister Qiqi,” Yun San said. “Strong and generous with the spotlight—other classes don’t have a leader like that.”
Gu Qiqi blinked in confusion. “Wait, we’re voting for class president? Since when? Why am I always the last to know?”
They were all standing together near the awards stage. After Gu Qiqi finished speaking, she had insisted that everyone go up with her to receive the award.
Wen Cheng looked at Gu Qiqi’s puzzled face and explained, “You also didn’t know that today is Military Academy 330’s monthly skills competition? It includes tactical tests and sparring matches. Omegas from District B come to watch. The award ceremony is just being held during the event.”
Of course Gu Qiqi didn’t know. No one had told her.
[System]: Host, what’s the point of knowing all this? This is a steamy dating game. The plot doesn’t matter. You just need to avoid the big traps and survive. Isn’t that enough?
But what caught Gu Qiqi’s attention was that the winner of the monthly competition received a prize of one million credits.
Song Lin added, “Whoever wins among the alphas gets to publicly confess to any omega of their choice.”
Yun San smirked. “You? You’re just a beta. You think you have a chance?”
Nan Qi chimed in, “Honestly, even I—an alpha with C-ranked mental strength—want to give it a shot. One of the options is Feng Jiying, the only daughter of the Feng family. She’s the most sought-after omega in Central City. Forget Song Lin, I’d risk everything for a chance. If she accepts, your future’s guaranteed. Power, wealth, respect—you’d have it all.”
Gu Qiqi rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
She didn’t care about confessions or declarations of love.
What she cared about was that one million credit prize.
“I’m going to win this,” she said confidently. “That first-place spot is mine.”
Not far from them, Feng Jiying was standing behind a black curtain, preparing to present the award certificates.
As both a special guest and a student of Military Academy 330, she was required to participate in both the awards and the competition.
What she hadn’t expected was hearing Gu Qiqi so openly declare her intent to win—just for the chance to choose her.
Feng Jiying’s heart gave a small jolt.
A strange feeling stirred in her chest. Without realizing it, she lifted her fingers to her lips.
Her mind flashed back to their kiss. The feeling of their lips pressed together, the jolt of energy that had run down her spine, the electricity in her fingertips.
Then she remembered the unfamiliar omega scent clinging to Gu Qiqi’s body.
Feng Jiying let out a cold snort.
Everything perfect at home while she flirts around outside?
Gu Qiqi really thought she could get away with that?
