Reborn as a Scummy Alpha, I Became Every Heroine's Obsession (GL) - Chapter 26
Feng Jiying had a sharp tongue, but her lips were soft.
Gu Qiqi didn’t know the first thing about restraint—and when she acted on impulse, she kissed her without hesitation.
Once the moment passed and things quieted down, the only thought left in Gu Qiqi’s mind was regret.
Did I really just mark Feng Jiying?
If that were true, wouldn’t the storyline fall right back into that messed-up trope again?
She hadn’t forgotten how she died in the original game setting.
The atmosphere inside the car had already reached a boiling point.
Feng Jiying closed her eyes, fully immersing herself in the kiss.
…[scene omitted]…
—
After the pheromone chaos finally ended, the injured Omegas and Alphas were taken to the school infirmary.
The 330 Military Academy’s clinic was located between the Alpha and Omega campuses.
Though the academy had an affiliated hospital, this kind of situation—where a group of Omegas were suddenly forced into heat, causing pheromone loss of control and sending all the Alphas into a frenzy—was nothing short of a scandal.
Something like this couldn’t be exposed to the media.
And it definitely couldn’t be spread around.
So all the injured students were brought to the clinic for basic treatment instead.
Wen Rui gently comforted a distressed Omega, speaking softly,
“It’s alright. You weren’t temporarily marked, and you weren’t deeply affected by that Alpha’s pheromones.”
But the Omega still had tears in the corners of his eyes. He curled up on the hospital bed, hugging his knees, looking utterly lost.
“But his pheromones did affect me. If I ever see that Alpha again, I’ll fall for him helplessly—just because of his scent. I won’t be able to accept any other Alpha’s pheromones ever again.”
Three Omega students had been injured in total. The other two had only suffered minor scrapes—just light injuries from struggling against the Alphas.
But the one now curled up on the bed, crying uncontrollably, had suffered deeper harm. His gland had been compromised by the Alpha’s pheromones. While it wasn’t a full temporary mark, the damage was still real.
“I’m from the outer zone,” the Omega whispered, his voice trembling. “My only chance at a better life is studying here in Central City. After graduating from the 330 Military Academy, I was supposed to marry into a decent family—someone who would love and cherish me. But now… now my pheromones have been tainted. I can’t give my future husband a pure, untouched bond anymore. I’ll never find true love. I’ll never get married. I won’t even qualify for a Central City residence.”
Wen Rui stepped to the bedside. She took off the stethoscope from her ears and slipped it into her pocket. Then she gently placed her hand on the Omega’s shaking shoulder.
“Don’t think that way,” she said softly. “It’s just residual pheromone influence. I can help you.”
The Omega looked up at her, his eyes red and swollen from crying.
“Really…? But I’m a male Omega. I don’t have the softness or beauty of a female Omega. If my gland isn’t clean anymore, I won’t be able to marry a Central City Alpha. After graduation, they’ll send me back to the outer zone. I don’t want to go back. That place… it’s dark and hopeless.”
Wen Rui picked up a syringe from the nearby table. She tilted the needle upright and slowly pushed the plunger until a few drops of liquid leaked out under pressure.
She smiled gently, reassuringly.
“Don’t be scared. I’ll help you. Relax. There’s nothing to worry about. Once I inject this specially adjusted inhibitor into your gland, the Alpha’s pheromones won’t affect you anymore.”
Just as Wen Rui was about to inject the inhibitor, someone suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Wen Cheng stood there, watching her warily.
Wen Rui didn’t look surprised. Calmly, she turned her head. When she saw who it was, her smile deepened slightly.
“Sister…” she said softly. “This is the treatment room for Omega students. As an Alpha, barging in without knocking or saying a word—aren’t you afraid that your pheromones might affect the injured Omega in front of you?”
The Omega on the bed looked at Wen Cheng in fear, curling up even tighter.
“No… please, don’t mark me… I didn’t do anything wrong. I took my pheromone suppressants like I was supposed to. I don’t even know, how I was forced into heat. I didn’t mean to release any pheromones. Please, I’m begging you…”
His pupils trembled with panic, and he fell into a full-blown breakdown. He started screaming uncontrollably, pulling at his hair in distress.
Wen Cheng frowned deeply.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re trying to do,” he said coldly.
Wen Rui stared at the needle of the syringe in her hand and calmly countered Wen Cheng,
“So, Sister, what exactly do you think I’m trying to do? I’m simply helping an injured Omega student. I’m a doctor—how could I possibly… take a life so recklessly?”
“Take a life recklessly,” Wen Cheng repeated slowly, each word deliberate. “Your command of language is impressive. You can even use idioms from ancient human culture so fluently. But for an Omega, their gland is extremely important.”
Her grip on Wen Rui’s wrist tightened gradually.
Yet Wen Rui’s expression remained completely unchanged.
The two stood locked in silent confrontation.
Wen Cheng had always held a grudge—ever since Wen Rui had removed Xiao Bai’s gland.
She was convinced Wen Rui was hiding something sinister behind the scenes.
Even though they were twin sisters, the curse that plagued their family’s twins had forced them apart from birth. They had barely communicated over the years, and the emotional distance between them had never truly healed.
Wen Rui’s fox-like eyes narrowed.
“Sister, whatever I do, I have the authority to do it. Whether it’s for an Omega or an Alpha. I hope you understand that… clearly.”
Wen Cheng’s hatred for her stemmed from Wen Rui’s removal of Xiao Bai’s gland, which had destroyed her chance of a future with him.
She knew all too well—
In the Wen family, the Alpha with the most potential could never marry an Omega whose gland had been permanently damaged.
And now, hearing Wen Rui speak so casually only made Wen Cheng’s frown deepen.
“Who told you to do it?” she demanded.
Without warning, Wen Rui plunged the syringe into the back of her own neck.
The motion was rough, and the skin around her gland tore slightly. A few strands of bl00d seeped out.
Her entire body trembled from the pain, but she quickly steadied herself. There was a trace of mockery in her eyes as she looked at Wen Cheng.
“Satisfied now, Sister? I’m a doctor. Of course, I help injured Omega students. As for who told me to do it… I’d say it was the kindness and conscience in my heart. Whether you believe it or not is your choice. After all, you’re different—you’re an S+ level Alpha.
How could you possibly understand the vulnerability and suffering of Omegas? If you have nothing else to say, please leave.”
Wen Cheng was reluctant.
But Wen Rui had taken things this far—she had no choice but to leave.
After Wen Cheng was gone, Wen Rui pulled the needle out of the back of her neck.
A slow, satisfied smile spread across her face.
She hadn’t actually injected the medicine at all.
Wen Rui turned her gaze toward the curtain at the back of the treatment room.
She calmly prepared a new pheromone suppressant and administered it to the injured Omega’s gland.
Then she followed up with a mild sedative to help him sleep peacefully.
Once everything was done, she walked over to the sink and washed her hands. As if speaking to no one in particular, she said:
“Miss Liu, hiding behind a curtain—what kind of behavior is that? If you’re hurt and need medical care, as the school doctor, I would never turn away any Omega student.”
Liu Huaiqing pulled the curtain aside.
“Dr. Wen, you’re quite gracious.”
Wen Rui raised an eyebrow.
“You’re one to talk, Miss Liu. But since you’re a lawyer, I’ll have to tread carefully. I’d hate to be dragged into a medical lawsuit just for being kind.”
“You weren’t affected by Gu Qiqi’s pheromones?” Liu Huaiqing asked directly. She fiddled with the green jade bracelet on her wrist to mask her irritation.
She hated situations like this—things slipping out of her control.
Just who was Gu Qiqi?
Wen Rui replied calmly, “I was surprised, too.”
“She’s your ex-girlfriend, isn’t she? Then you must know a thing or two about her.”
Liu Huaiqing fixed her gaze on Wen Rui.
She wanted to know everything about Gu Qiqi.
Even if it was in the past, Wen Rui had no desire to revisit a single moment of it.
She turned around, pulled two tissues to dry her hands, and casually tossed them into the trash bin.
“I thought Lawyer Liu was joking. I didn’t expect you to actually be interested in Gu Qiqi. But unfortunately, I have no intention of talking about those memories from my time in the Outer Zone.
As for why you and I weren’t affected by Gu Qiqi’s pheromones… I think you already know the answer. There’s no need for me to say it again.”
Liu Huaiqing’s eyes flickered.
She was analyzing the meaning behind Wen Rui’s words.
“So what you’re saying, Dr. Wen, is that you have no interest in Gu Qiqi. You don’t even want to recall the past.”
Wen Rui took off her white coat and hung it aside, revealing the delicate dress she wore underneath. Then, as if deliberately changing the subject, she said,
“There’s only one rule at 330 Military Academy that really annoys me: no dresses allowed. But I love wearing dresses. So I simply call my dresses pants. Even if everyone says I’m wearing a dress, I’ll still insist they’re pants.”
Liu Huaiqing let out a small laugh, her lips curving into a faint smile.
“So that’s how it is. I apologize if I was being presumptuous. I don’t believe there’s any conflict of interest between us, and there’s no need to create unnecessary distance over something so trivial.
After all… perhaps we’re the same kind of people.”
The kind who came from the bottom. Who had to claw their way up, grasping every rope, fighting tooth and nail just to earn the right to be respected.
Wen Rui replied plainly,
“Feng Jiying will never fall in love with Gu Qiqi. There’s no need for you to worry about something so meaningless, Lawyer Liu. As Gu Qiqi’s ex-girlfriend, that much, at least, I can guarantee.”
Feng Family Villa
Feng Jiying had regained some clarity.
The more contact she had with Gu Qiqi—the more of Gu Qiqi’s pheromones she absorbed—the more satisfied she felt.
Her physical pain eased, bit by bit.
But strangely, there were two conflicting voices in her mind.
One warned her that this was a trap—that she would fall, and she had to stay rational. She couldn’t allow herself to be controlled by primal urges.
The other whispered that she was an adult, long since differentiated. She’d been living like a monk for years. Gu Qiqi was alone and from the Outer Zone—an Alpha with no resources, no backing.
Even if she used her… Gu Qiqi would never pose a threat.
She could take everything from her—without fear, without guilt.
So what was there to be afraid of?
Just focus on the pleasure.
Feng Jiying lay in bed, raising an arm to cover her eyes.
Gu Qiqi had carried her here.
Though her mind had been foggy during her sensitive period, her consciousness remained intact.
She remembered every reaction of her body. She remembered everything that had happened in the car.
Gu Qiqi wasn’t anything like the rumors—or the reports she had read.
Every move she made was careful and restrained.
Even if she were pretending, no one could fake such delicate subtlety.
Suddenly, Hanhan started playing an old human love song.
Feng Jiying groaned in frustration.
“Hanhan, turn off the music.”
Hanhan sounded confused.
“But President, you always listen to this track during your heat to calm your urges. Why not this time? Are you really going to let Gu Qiqi temporarily mark you? Your private physician will be here in twenty minutes. You’ll be safe by then.”
Feng Jiying exhaled deeply.
“Shut up.”
Even though she and Gu Qiqi had come to a mutual understanding in the car, and the intimacy they’d shared was enough to keep her lucid for now, the discomfort was still unbearable.
Every second she restrained herself was pure torture.
Her mind and body no longer listened to her.
She got up, opened the bedroom door, and began walking toward Gu Qiqi’s room.
With every step, the scent of pheromones grew stronger. The sweetness filled her nose, then her chest, then her entire being.
Feng Jiying couldn’t hold back a soft sigh of pleasure.
Gu Qiqi didn’t know why, but as she lay in bed, she felt restless, like something was scratching at her heart.
She kept turning from side to side.
Just as she sat up and opened the door, she was startled to see Feng Jiying standing right outside with red, tear-filled eyes.
Gu Qiqi instantly froze, raising her hands as if facing a threat.
“Didn’t we agree back in the car? No temporary marking! President Feng, what are you doing?”
Feng Jiying didn’t give her a chance to react. She rushed forward, wrapped her arms around Gu Qiqi’s neck, and sank her teeth directly into the side of her neck where her gland was.
An Alpha’s gland is different from an Omega’s. Omega glands are made to receive and accept. But Alpha glands are aggressive and dominant. They are the source of pheromones and the foundation of an Alpha’s strength.
So when an Alpha’s gland is attacked, their body instinctively fights back.
But Gu Qiqi wasn’t very sensitive to pheromones. Even when she was bitten, she simply tilted her head in confusion, not understanding what Feng Jiying was trying to do.
Feng Jiying said through gritted teeth, “The federal government’s forced pairing system was meant for this day. You marked me temporarily, so now it’s only fair… that I do the same to you.”
Gu Qiqi stared blankly. “Huh?”
Was it because she grew up in the Outer Zone and lacked knowledge? She had never heard of an Omega marking an Alpha.
“Wait, President Feng,” she stammered, “I don’t know how to do that.”
Feng Jiying replied coldly, “Say one more useless word and I’ll deduct a hundred thousand credits.”
Before Gu Qiqi could respond, Feng Jiying pressed her lips against hers, silencing her completely.
At the same time, the Feng family villa entered full security lockdown.
Unless a full-scale interstellar war broke out and someone blasted their way into the estate with top-tier weaponry, nothing could stop Feng Jiying from marking Gu Qiqi.
The temporary marking lasted through the entire afternoon and into the night.
—
The next morning, Gu Qiqi woke up.
She instinctively reached out to the side, only to feel nothing there.
Startled, she sat up quickly and realized the space beside her was already empty. The sheets had gone cold.
She rubbed her messy bed hair. Her wolf-cut had puffed up into a wild, tangled mess.
It was hard to imagine how many times she must have rolled around in bed the night before.
[System: Host, open your terminal quickly. The entire federal network is going crazy.]
Gu Qiqi hurriedly opened her terminal.
The top trending headline was about 330 Military Academy.
She tapped into the video, which had already gone viral.
It had even been edited with dramatic voice-over commentary.
“At 330 Military Academy’s award ceremony, an Omega student was suddenly forced into a heat phase. This caused Alpha students to release pheromones uncontrollably, which triggered nearby Omegas as well.
The pheromones clashed, creating chaos. Three Omega students and two Alpha students were injured.
Looking now at the award stage, the students involved were from Class 3, Year 1, including Gu Qiqi and her classmates. Gu Qiqi, who comes from the Outer Zone, underwent gender differentiation to become an Alpha and was specially allowed by the federal government to enroll in 330 Military Academy.
For reasons unknown, Gu Qiqi released her pheromones during the event, which affected all the nearby Omega students. This resulted in a breakdown of order and loss of control among both Omegas and Alphas. We ask the school leadership to explain why an Alpha from the Outer Zone was allowed to endanger the students of Central City.”
[System: Host, this is clearly slander. You saved them, and now they’re turning the story around to make it look like you hurt them. This is completely unfair.]
Gu Qiqi was still recovering her strength. As soon as she tried to move, she collapsed back onto the large bed.
This situation, of course, wasn’t that simple.
Someone had clearly orchestrated everything behind the scenes.
And the person who started it all certainly didn’t want to be exposed. They needed someone else to take the fall.
Gu Qiqi, with all the attention she had been receiving lately, made the perfect scapegoat. She was from the Outer Zone and currently at the center of discussion—exactly the kind of target people liked to blame.
She rolled over, but suddenly felt a stinging pain at the back of her neck. Hissing softly, she instinctively reached up to touch it. The skin, which was normally smooth, now felt rough and swollen, as if bitten.
She got up and walked into the bathroom. After slipping off her robe, she looked in the mirror and saw several deep, purple bite marks on the back of her neck.
“This Feng Jiying really didn’t hold back,” she muttered.
“You’re no angel yourself, Miss Gu.”
Gu Qiqi had only been quietly complaining to herself, but a familiar voice suddenly spoke from behind her.
Her whole body shivered. She spun around quickly and saw Feng Jiying leaning lazily against the bathroom door like a well-fed ragdoll cat. Her eyelids were half-lowered, her gaze unreadable.
Gu Qiqi finally got a good look at her.
Feng Jiying’s neck and visible collarbones were also covered in bruises and bite marks. There was hardly a spot of unmarked skin.
Gu Qiqi blinked. Did I do that?
Was she really that aggressive?
She wasn’t even sensitive to pheromones. How could she have lost control like that?
Fake. It had to be fake.
Feng Jiying, despite appearing calm on the surface, had legs trembling slightly under her robe.
She walked up to Gu Qiqi, lifted a hand, and gently pinched her chin.
“Once an Omega enters the heat stage during a sensitivity period, inhibitors stop working. It takes a full seven days to get through it. So for the next seven days, you can’t leave me. You’ll have to stay by my side at all times.”
Gu Qiqi didn’t really mind.
Given how the media was tearing her apart outside, she wasn’t in a hurry to return to campus or face the mess there.
But then she suddenly frowned, remembering something. She covered the back of her neck with her hand.
“Didn’t we already do a temporary mark? Isn’t that supposed to stop an Omega from…?”
Feng Jiying, usually sharp and composed, actually looked away for once. Her confident expression faltered.
She lowered her hand from Gu Qiqi’s chin, hid it behind her back, and turned away, avoiding Gu Qiqi’s questioning eyes.
“You’re from the Outer Zone. After your gender differentiation, you came directly to Central City. Before that, you never received formal Alpha-Omega education, so it’s understandable that you don’t know much. That’s why… whatever I tell you to do, just follow it.”
Gu Qiqi stared at her, full of doubt.
Is she serious? Or is she lying?
Was Feng Jiying really being honest with her?
Feng Jiying turned around, her voice suddenly colder, her brows slightly lowered.
“Do you really think I’m lying to you?”
Gu Qiqi immediately thought about the money that had been transferred into her terminal account. She quickly shook her head with a knowing smile.
“Of course not. President Feng controls eighty percent of the wealth in the Interstellar Federation. Why would someone like you need to lie to someone like me? I’m just a nobody, and serving you is naturally my top priority.”
Feng Jiying let out a soft hum of satisfaction.
“Smart.”
Once an Omega in heat receives an Alpha’s pheromone injection, they return to a normal state, not much different from usual.
So Gu Qiqi and Feng Jiying didn’t spend every waking moment inside the villa. After all, lying in bed for seven straight days would be far too boring.
They had spent the first two days “battling” intensely.
By the third day, they went out to get some air.
As they walked through public spaces, Gu Qiqi noticed something strange. Everywhere they passed, both Alphas and Omegas instinctively took a few steps back.
She was confused.
Nearby, people were whispering quietly.
“Their pheromones are way too strong.”
“Must’ve just gotten married. Look how clingy they are.”
Gu Qiqi couldn’t smell pheromones, but watching the crowd’s reactions, she glanced at Feng Jiying.
She had a rough guess of what was going on.
Feng Jiying’s expression, however, remained completely calm.
Feng Jiying turned to her.
“What are you spacing out for?”
Gu Qiqi asked, “President Feng, do you really have to work even during your sensitivity period? Isn’t that a bit too much?”
Feng Jiying beckoned her with a curl of her finger.
Gu Qiqi, without thinking, extended her hand. Feng Jiying took it and held it firmly.
Gu Qiqi instinctively tried to pull her hand back, but it didn’t budge.
“Just strolling,” Feng Jiying replied, as she adjusted their grip and intertwined their fingers tightly.
“The Federation sent people to observe us. Your situation at 330 Military Academy made too big of a scene. Public opinion is against you, and someone has been secretly following us. So don’t blow our cover.”
Gu Qiqi gave a vague response.
“Oh…”
What a terrible excuse.
This wasn’t the first time she had picked up on the signs.
She noticed the faint blush on Feng Jiying’s face.
The moment her mind reached a certain conclusion, her skin began to crawl with discomfort, like ants crawling across her body.
She refused to follow the original route designed by the game system.
Who would fall in love with someone destined to kill them?
Just then, Wen Cheng appeared, dressed in full military uniform, leading a squad of armed officers. They blocked Gu Qiqi and Feng Jiying’s path.
Wen Cheng spoke firmly.
“The headmaster has issued a military order. Gu Qiqi caused a pheromone riot at 330 Military Academy, leading to severe backlash and public outcry across interstellar society. By military decree, she is now under arrest.”
