Chapter 126
“Kang Junseong, let’s talk.”
Daewook, his eyes filled with caution, glared at Hanseo as he spoke.
“I wouldn’t normally bother with this kind of thing…”
“Then don’t bother at all.”
Hanseo responded, his eyes narrowing in a way that seemed to mock Daewook.
“Choices are made by individuals, aren’t they?”
“That’s different if the choice is made under coercion.”
“Coercion…”
Hanseo’s already cold eyes grew even colder. As he moved away from Daewook, Junseong didn’t even see the jackknife Hanseo had hidden in his pocket, now snugly in his hand.
“Coercion? What are you talking about?”
Confused by the hard-to-grasp context, Junseong tried to grab Daewook’s shoulder. Suddenly, he felt a dizziness as if everything was spinning, causing him to stagger.
“Hey, are you okay?!”
“Brother!”
Hanseo was quicker than both Daewook and Chaeyi, who reached out in alarm as they saw Junseong’s legs buckle. Hanseo wrapped his arm around Junseong’s waist from behind, pulling him into his embrace, the coldness in his eyes dissipating at once.
Leaning completely against Hanseo, Junseong shook his head a couple of times as if trying to collect his thoughts.
“Sorry, I didn’t sleep well last night…”
“You should have forced yourself to sleep. You react immediately when you’re short on sleep.”
Chaeyi, who remembered how often Junseong would stagger from lack of sleep, looked at him with concern. Junseong could only give a bitter smile, unable to say, ‘I couldn’t sleep because I was worried about you.’
Chaeyi, trying to give a brief lecture, looked up at Hanseo, who was naturally checking Junseong’s forehead, with a surprised look. The warm gaze Hanseo gave Junseong was incomparable to how he looked at her.
“He has a fever too. Maybe it’s best to rest now and talk later?”
“But…”
“Listen.”
Everyone had seen that they were safe, and with the tension completely gone after overcoming a major crisis, their bodies were gradually reaching their limits.
Hanseo looked down at Junseong, who was docilely allowing his forehead to be checked, with a tender gaze before his eyes turned cold again, directed at Daewook and Chaeyi, who were still on guard.
“If you have something to say, do it tomorrow. As you can see, I want to put him to bed.”
Daewook, who didn’t like Hanseo acting like a guardian, pulled at Junseong’s arm.
“Let’s sleep together in my room.”
Hanseo’s eyes narrowed fiercely as he gripped Daewook’s wrist tight enough to break it.
“Who says so?”
“Ugh, you…!”
A groan and the sound of teeth grinding came from Daewook.
How can this guy be so strong? Daewook thought his wrist might break off completely.
Even so, Daewook didn’t let go of Junseong’s arm, the fear that something might happen to Junseong if left with this dangerous man prevailing.
Caught between the two glaring at each other, Junseong, looking annoyed, decided to mediate.
“Can’t you both stop this?”
Junseong pulled Daewook’s hand away from his arm. The hand that wouldn’t budge when Hanseo tried to remove it came off easily now.
“If I join you, there will be three of us in your room. Are you suggesting we all cuddle in one bed?”
“Send one person here then.”
“Like he would agree, seeing this guy’s eyes.”
Junseong knew well there was an issue with Hanseo’s gaze. He was relatively lenient with his former colleagues, but to others, he exuded a chilling aura, making it unlikely for anyone to want to share a room with him.
Daewook, pulling his arm free from Hanseo, glared at him with dissatisfaction. Junseong sighed, looking tired.
“I’m so sleepy I feel like I might die, so I need to rest. Let’s talk tomorrow.”
“…Will you be okay?”
Daewook, still cautious of Hanseo, asked with concern. Junseong gave a small smile, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“The only one who can control this guy is me. It’s more worrisome to be apart.”
“…”
After hearing Junseong’s words, Daewook pressed his lips together, glaring at Hanseo before finally leading Chaeyi towards the entrance.
Even as they left, Daewook didn’t lose his look of worry and caution until he closed the door behind him, and the tense air inside the room quickly became tranquil.
Hanseo looked down at Junseong, who was still leaning on him, and smiled slightly.
He felt like he had somehow won against both Jang Daewook and Kang Chaeyi. This childish feeling was unexpectedly pleasant to him.
“Haah…”
Hanseo, exhaling a long sigh while closing his eyes, lifted Junseong and sat him on the sofa. Junseong, looking like he had no strength left, watched quietly as Hanseo, kneeling like he was before him, took off his socks.
“Want to go to bed right away?”
“No, I need to wash. There’s a bathtub here for once, so I can relax and wash…”
While with Chaeyi and Daewook, his voice was clear, but now, due to exhaustion, it was languid. He had held up well so far and now there was no need to be alert, making him very relaxed.
After neatly placing Junseong’s socks on the table, Hanseo helped him out of his coat, then touched his shirt.
“Shall I wash you?”
When he had unbuttoned the third button, Junseong grabbed his hand to stop him.
“No, you seem like you’d spend the whole day washing me.”
“You’re quick on the uptake.”
“I should be at least this quick.”
Junseong chuckled at the playful exchange before starting to undress himself instead of letting Hanseo do it. Hanseo looked slightly disappointed but seemed pleased in his own way as he watched Junseong undress with a languid expression.
With his shirt off, revealing his white upper body, Junseong only in his pants, went into the bathroom. He didn’t forget to give Hanseo a stern look and a warning not to follow him in.
How much time had passed since the sound of the cool water started?
The water sound stopped, followed by a few splashing noises before silence enveloped the space. Several minutes went by without any further sound.
Leaning against the wall next to the bathroom, Hanseo had been waiting for Junseong to come out when he suddenly realized too much time had passed. Given that they had talked about the bathtub, Junseong must have decided to soak in it to relieve his fatigue, but it was certainly odd that there was no sound for over twenty minutes.
Hanseo, about to barge in through the semi-transparent glass door, hesitated for a moment before knocking briefly.
“Kang Junseong.”
Even though the glass door didn’t block sound well, there was no response from inside to either the knock or his voice.
After another knock with no reply, Hanseo finally pushed open the poor-quality glass door, which didn’t even have a locking mechanism.
The warm steam in the bathroom enveloped Hanseo’s cold face. As he moved further in, his vision obscured by the steam, he saw Junseong’s face outside the edge of the large, circular bathtub.
Junseong’s face, flushed from the warm water in the tub, looked enticing. His round forehead and delicate eyebrows, now clearly visible with his hair swept back, caught Hanseo’s gaze first. His long, black eyelashes, damp from the steam, glistened, and the flushed cheekbones below looked quite appetizing.
When Hanseo’s eyes reached the faintly breathing red lips, he had already discarded his jacket.
“Mm…”
Feeling Hanseo’s presence, Junseong’s eyelids fluttered slightly before he opened his eyes. Blinking a few times to clear his vision, he saw Do Hanseo, who had already taken off his upper clothing, in front of him.
“What… did I fall asleep?”
Rubbing his eyes with his damp hand, Junseong looked up at the splashing sound. If there were a contest for undressing speed among crazy people, Hanseo would undoubtedly win first place, as he had stripped down in no time and was now stepping into the tub.
Despite being in a motel, the bathtub in the suite was spacious enough for two people to move around comfortably without it overflowing or feeling cramped.
Junseong, dulled by fatigue, blinked slowly.
“Were you going to wash up? I’ll get out so you can drain the water and start fresh…”
“No need.”
Interrupting Junseong, Hanseo leaned over him as if to mount him. Even though there was plenty of space beside him, Hanseo caged Junseong within his arms, his breathing becoming slightly rougher.
“Fvck, why would you waste this? Who washed with this water, it’s such a waste.”
Looking up at Hanseo, Junseong felt his sleepiness vanish in an instant. He realized what the hard thing poking his stomach was.
‘Why is this bastard getting horny again?’
