Red Dot - 50
707 Special Mission Unit.
It is a special mission unit under the Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command.
It mainly carries out national-level anti-terrorism missions and critical special operations.
Seo Changmin, a member of this special mission unit, was a valuable ally in Junseong’s makeshift team. In gaming terms, he was like a character classified as a ‘hero’ with excellent abilities.
Although Junseong had the physically capable Hanseo, he believed he couldn’t match someone from a special forces background. There was no one as reliable in dangerous situations, quick decision-making, and even in the use of weapons.
‘It was indeed a hard-to-obtain card.’
Once again, he felt proud of today’s achievements. The rare card he couldn’t acquire even after saving it in his dreams, Seo Changmin, was now in reality.
Since he had already grasped who Seo Changmin was in his dream, there was nothing surprising, but Junseong casually expressed admiration.
“You’re from an amazing place. Impressive.”
“Not at all. You’re more impressive than me, Mr. Junseong.”
“I’m just an ordinary unemployed person who plays games.”
“Haha, just kidding.”
Changmin brushed off Junseong’s sincere remark and showed a somewhat excited expression.
“I was really surprised. It must have been scary, but you not only jumped into a horde of zombies to save us but also wiped them out completely… You’re truly amazing.”
Changmin was genuinely impressed.
He couldn’t forget the sight of the slender man in front of him effortlessly swinging a machete and smashing zombies. Despite his seemingly fragile appearance, he was entirely different. The zombies seemed to run away at the sight of him.
Moreover, he was smart.
From delaying the zombie rush with just a pipe, providing a base to buy time for an escape, to understanding and utilizing the structure of the alleys around a specific store, observation and judgment skills, and even conducting a zombie extermination using mobile phones and a gas explosion.
Changmin smelled the scent of a capable brainwave officer from Junseong, similar to a brainwave officer in a special forces unit.
In reality, it was possible because of the methods he had in mind due to the dream and the information he had secured, but it was not something he could explain in detail.
Replacing it with a simple “Thank you,” Junseong, who had now become a smooth talker, received a question from the now eloquent Changmin.
“But you said you’re going to find someone who can find out the situation outside of Inhansi, right? Instead of doing that, wouldn’t it be better to find a shelter on the outskirts of Inhansi? You could evacuate and get information. Oh, this isn’t something I should say, Mr. Junseong.”
Changmin scratched his cheek with a somewhat troubled expression.
Changmin’s question was quite sharp, and it was also correct. In a situation where everyone’s life is at stake, it’s strange to say, “Let’s go find out what’s happening outside.”
If there was confidence that the rescue team would come, it would be different, but if not, as Changmin suggested, it might be better to head for a shelter on the outskirts of the city or find a decent hiding place.
However, Junseong believed he needed to find the person who could help tomorrow, not only because of the person’s abilities but also because he could only find them tomorrow.
Junseong agreed with Changmin’s words for now.
“You’re right. Usually, doing what Mr. Changmin suggests is better.”
“But there’s no clear information on the shelter’s location, and where we are now is in the middle of Inhansi, so moving to the outskirts is difficult. There’s also no guarantee that we’ll all survive during the move.”
Changmin’s face darkened in the cold reality.
“If we manage to find that person tomorrow, we can find a shelter on the outskirts of the city and even gather more information. Regardless, we need that person.”
“That makes sense.”
Changmin nodded and asked another question.
“By the way, who is that person? A police officer or a firefighter?”
“No.”
Junseong recalled the man he had met in his dream.
“He’s a guy with a baseball cap.”
True to winter, the sun quickly set.
As the time of sunset moved forward day by day.
Junseong, from the corner of the container office, had been watching the two people who had fallen asleep side by side early on.
He had given them both the two blankets he brought from the hospital. Since they must have been trapped in the laundromat for three days without proper food, drink, or good sleep, now that safety and comfort were somewhat secured, they could finally feel at ease.
“Sleep well.”
Leaning his knees, Junseong rested his head on top while crossing his arms in a fist.
“You must be tired, right?”
Considering that there were only two blankets and the timing was right for a rest, Junseong thought they needed a break from exhaustion. Apologizing, but probably because they were too tired to refuse, they fell into a deep sleep as soon as they lay down.
He turned his head to Hanseo, who was sitting next to him.
“Are you okay?”
“What?”
Hanseo, meeting eyes, gave a soft smile.
Junseong looked at Hanseo like that and lifted his head.
“Aren’t you tired? You’ve lost a lot of blood.”
There might be some distance, but just in case, he lowered his voice.
“I used to go to the hospital frequently because of anemia. Taking out a lot of blood won’t cause anemia again, right?”
“Well… come to think of it, I do feel a bit dizzy.”
Although it was said jokingly, it was enough to make Junseong’s face serious.
“Lie down. Lie down right away.”
” I’m fine. This is…”
“Lie down.”
When Junseong ordered, Hanseo lay down next to him as if there was no other choice. He looked at the ground with his head in his hands and hesitated. Then, he turned his eyes with a sly look, sending a mischievous glance.
“It’s hard to sleep without a pillow.”
“Sleep with your backpack.”
“If you put everything in it and use it as a pillow, it hurts.”
Hanseo subtly caressed Junseong’s thigh.
“How about using this?”
“It’s okay. Just sleep with it.”
When Junseong raised the corners of his eyes and gave the command, Hanseo lay down next to him. He tapped the middle of his thigh, indicating to lay his head there.
Lying down with Junseong’s thigh as a pillow, Hanseo closed his eyes with a smile.
“The best pillow.”
“Just laugh and say there are no muscles in your legs.”
“It was a compliment.”
Not taking it as much of a compliment, Junseong absentmindedly touched Hanseo’s hair. It was just because there was soft hair where he naturally placed his hand.
Hanseo seemed to like it.
A pleasant smile crossed Hanseo’s face as he closed his eyes.
“Who’s the one caressing, it feels nice.”
“If it feels good, just sleep like this.”
Originally, Junseong didn’t know if his skin was naturally pale or not, but seeing him lying down with closed eyes so defenselessly, he wanted to let him rest.
On the other hand, he felt sorry.
It was true that he willingly gave himself a blood draw, even doing it himself for the ‘vaccine,’ but it was not a misconception that he appeared exhausted because of it. He sent him to a place where gas explosions were likely to occur. Even if it was the best method, it was still something to feel sorry about.
“Especially for making the ‘vaccine’ risky.”
No matter how he thought about it, he was too reckless today. Even if the results were good, he blamed himself for exposing Hanseo to danger.
“From tomorrow, I’ll plan things in a safer way.”
“It’s okay. I like thrilling things.”
Hanseo opened his closed eyes and smiled mischievously.
“It feels really good to think you might die.”
“… You’re crazy.”
“Yeah.”
Instead of denying it, Hanseo, lying down, reached out and brushed Junseong’s back.
“I like dangerous things. It’s like the psychology of going to ride the scariest amusement park ride first.”
“It’s different from something where your life is at stake.”
“Maybe.”
Hanseo’s smile deepened.
“But if I had to choose between the two, I’d still prefer something with my life at stake.”
“No way. From now on, we’ll make sure it’s not dangerous.”
For tasks that required risking oneself, there was Seo Changmin, qualified for it. In the first place, the reason he wanted to get Seo Changmin first was to keep Dohanseo out of dangerous roles.
“I’d rather do it than let you be in danger.”
Junseong sincerely thought so.
Whether it was because they were friends, because of their promise, or because he was the only and perfect ‘vaccine.’
There should be no actions like today, putting Dohanseo in danger. Sending the one who must be protected at the forefront is strategically insane.
Hanseo, who had been looking up at Junseong, suddenly furrowed his brow and sat up.
“This won’t do.”
“What’s wrong?”
Sitting up, Hanseo looked at Junseong with eyes devoid of laughter. Junseong, thinking that he might have gotten up because something was wrong with his body, looked at him with a worried expression.
However, the words that came out of Hanseo’s mouth furrowed Junseong’s forehead.
“It seems like I’m going to die again. Can you kiss me?”
“Are you out of your mind?”
