Red Dot - 62
Junseong was taken aback by the strange sensation he felt every time Hanseo pressed into the hole in his tailbone. He had never imagined that someone would touch this secretive part of his body, and the embarrassment was beyond words.
“Stop, please…!”
“You’re so sensitive. It makes me want to devour you.”
“Why do you keep talking about eating!”
Every time Hanseo mentioned eating, an inexplicable chill ran down Junseong’s spine. The fear of needing to break free from his grip seized his shoulders.
Click.
His heightened senses caught the sound of the door opening.
Junseong pushed Hanseo away forcefully, emerging from under the blanket covering them both. As he quickly turned his head, he saw Jian who had just entered, now poking his head in.
“Guys, we’re done talking.”
“Yeah, I’ll come in.”
Perhaps because Junseong’s movements were swift, Jian fortunately didn’t notice the embrace they had shared. The dim light from the office window concealed Junseong’s flushed face.
After Jian went back into the office, Junseong emerged, punching Hanseo’s chest firmly and glaring at him.
“Even when you’re praised, can’t you stay still for a moment, you bastard?”
As Hanseo watched him leave and return to the office, he glanced down at his hand.
Just a moment ago, his grip had been filled with soft, elastic flesh. Remembering that sensation, Hanseo smirked, gazing down at his now thickened fingers.
“It seems like next time, I won’t be able to resist.”
His thoughts were dominated not by self-blame, but by the notion that Kang Junseong was both naughty and cute. Now, it seemed, Kang Junseong was more like an aphrodisiac than his suppressant.
Removing the blanket from his shoulders and draping it over his arm, Hanseo looked up at the dark sky. He intended to wait until Junseong’s embarrassment subsided somewhat before going back in.
Suddenly, his vision blurred.
Sitting down abruptly, Hanseo grabbed his forehead. Even though it was dark and he couldn’t see well, he knew his vision was spinning.
“How annoying…”
It was a periodic, persistent anemia he couldn’t shake off. While the frequency of his anemia attacks had decreased with age, he had overexerted himself recently, and yesterday, he had even fainted. Even if it wasn’t as much blood as before, given his body’s condition, it was enough to warrant concern.
Hanseo hoped fervently for his dizziness to dissipate quickly as he embraced the cool breeze.
As Junseong entered the office, he looked at the faces of the three people inside. Although they all seemed serious, thankfully there was no hint of suspicion.
“You agreed to trust us?”
Seating himself among them, Junseong asked, and Changmin replied with a bitter smile.
“Frankly, we have no choice but to trust you. I’ve been considering the possibility… since before you even mentioned it.”
As Changmin reviewed everything from the time Junseong rescued him until now, there was no other way to trust his words. Predicting the exact time as well as preparing for the future couldn’t be mere coincidence.
“And above all, you saved the three of us.”
The biggest reason to trust Kang Junseong.
He was their savior.
“If it weren’t for you, we would all be dead anyway.”
If Junseong hadn’t risked his life to save them, they all knew none of them would be alive.
Junseong looked at the three of them, silently agreeing with Changmin’s words, and smiled faintly.
“Thank you for trusting me. I knew Gyeong-oh would trust me, but honestly, the two of you were uncertain.”
Embarrassed, Gyeong-oh wiped his nose and showed them the inhaler in his hand.
“How did you know I needed the inhaler and prepared it for me?”
Even sending the drone towards the Cloud Bridge was impulsive. He hadn’t even mentioned it, but Junseong had timed it perfectly to attach the inhaler to the drone and send it over, and since then, he had been astoundingly well-prepared with the items he had.
It would be more plausible to say it was premonition rather than coincidence. According to what Changmin and Jian heard, even when rescuing them or barging into his apartment, he had acted as if he already knew what was to come.
Gyeong-oh couldn’t forget Junseong’s eyes, which said he had experienced all of this through countless dreams. His serious demeanor, speaking with unwavering eyes, was unmistakably genuine.
Changmin and Jian shared Gyeong-oh’s thoughts.
They had been impressed by their strategies and coping abilities when Junseong and Hanseo rescued them, but experiencing and witnessing firsthand what happened during the process of rescuing Gyeong-oh was something they couldn’t easily dismiss. Especially for Changmin, who had worked alongside Junseong, he couldn’t help but trust him even more.
Accepting Junseong’s abilities, they began to feel more confident rather than anxious.
Confidence that soon, by following Kang Junseong, this situation would come to an end.
Since the 707 Special Mission Unit was a unit thoroughly trained to defend the nation, even though what happened occurred during their vacation, as a member of the Special Mission Unit, Changmin prioritized ending this situation above all else. Therefore, he planned to assist Junseong, who knew what the key to resolving this situation was.
Jian, despite hearing some absurd things, wasn’t that concerned. Of course, he didn’t doubt Junseong’s words at all, but he hadn’t suffered any losses by following Junseong’s lead.
If they hadn’t followed Junseong’s words properly, would they still be alive?
That was the only thing Jian cared about.
Considering that the person who saved them from death was speaking, why wouldn’t they believe him? It was typical for people to throw even their friends into a zombie horde just to save themselves.
Jian vividly remembered the friends who had thrown him into the zombie horde while they were shopping together. He wasn’t sure if those friends were still alive after doing that, but Junseong’s dream story was much more believable than theirs.
Changmin asked Junseong, looking into his eyes to confirm their trust.
“So, what’s the plan now? Even if Gyeong-oh starts modifying the drone, it won’t be ready right away, will it?”
Gyeong-oh spoke before Junseong.
“Thanks to your foresight, it won’t take a week, but we still need some time.”
During his dreams, Gyeong-oh spent a whole week creating a long-distance drone.
There were times during that week when he had to revisit his apartment because some materials were lacking, and sometimes he had even gone to stores that handled drone-related parts. The time for test flights was also indispensable.
Junseong intended to condense that time down to just one day.
“Even though I saw it in a dream, I can’t perfectly recall the moment I was modifying it. But I remember all the parts that were used, and I know which ones were used first. I’ll write it all down on paper for you.”
If it were something observed directly in reality, even more than half of it might be forgotten, but memories experienced in dreams were different.
The time checked by chance, the process of work glanced at suddenly, passing words uttered by someone briefly.
All of it was rooted more vividly than reality. That’s why he remembered all the patterns he experienced in his dreams for the past two months.
Junseong groped through his clear memories as he spoke.
“We don’t have much time. So, sir, you’ll need to finish modifying it by tomorrow night. At the very least, we should be able to fly the drone by tomorrow morning.”
“Until tomorrow night… Is that possible?”
It was understandable that Gyeong-oh was anxious since he had never attempted modification for long-distance operation, let alone completing it in a day.
If he accidentally touched something wrong in a rush, it might fall off during operation, making it impossible to retrieve. If that happened, it would be a waste of time and a waste of a potentially useful drone.
“Don’t worry. In reality, you dismantled everything you had been modifying for a week on the seventh day and assembled it all in half a day.”
Hearing this, Gyeong-oh seemed slightly relieved.
Junseong looked at Gyeong-oh before turning to the other two.
“While you concentrate on modifying tomorrow, it would be great if the two of you could guard this place.”
“Naturally, but… just the two of us?”
When Changmin asked, looking puzzled, Junseong gestured towards Hanseo, who had just entered the office.
“Tomorrow, the two of us have a separate place to go.”
At the mention of ‘just the two of us,’ Hanseo’s eyes seemed to sparkle for a moment.
