Reincarnated as a Farmer Gamer: Rising to the Top with the Evolution of the Weakest Job that Only I Know About!? - 16.1
Several days had passed since I became a Reaper.
During that time, I continued to travel between the Prayle Plains and rocky areas, conducting various verifications.
Here are the results of the verifications:
Firstly, the enemies defeated by my familiar Pochi are judged as my defeats, and I gain experience points. However, since I’m not swinging any weapons, my proficiency doesn’t increase. This is natural.
Secondly, the transition system allows for switching between “Reaper of the Dark Night,” “Walker of the Dark Night,” and “Manipulator of the Dark Night” at any time.
Thirdly, regarding the downside of the transition system, the skills from before the transition are naturally not applied when transitioning. Additionally, proficiency levels are separate and not shared.
Fourthly, the most significant downside of the transition system. It’s the mysterious cooldown time until all skills are applied after transitioning, as well as the time until reuse and the cooldown time until techniques can be used.
This is the biggest drawback, as upon transitioning to “Reaper of the Dark Night,” for example, the skill “Break Size” cannot be used instantly. It takes about three seconds to become available.
The fact that skills are not applied for three seconds after transitioning during combat, and techniques cannot be activated, is a fatal flaw. Since common skills like “Size Swing” cannot be used, transitioning during combat requires careful timing.
Since I can transition between the three skills, I’ve also finished verifying what each skill feels like.
“Reaper of the Dark Night” is a skill set specialized in short-range single-target attacks, and its powerful attack skill “Break Size” can likely defeat even Ancient Rock Lizards in one blow. Though I haven’t tried it yet.
“Walker of the Dark Night” is, as the name suggests, a skill set specialized in movement. Originally, scythe users rely heavily on agility for their attacks, and they can move quickly due to their high agility. “Walker” has a skill set that allows for even faster movement, and the technique “Shadow Movement” is perfect for attacking without alerting magical beasts by turning into a shadow.
As a side note, during the technique “Shadow Movement,” there’s a strange feeling of moving as a shadow… At first, I got dizzy because I wasn’t used to it and ended up vomiting.
But now I’m used to it and can use it anytime.
The distance I can move is roughly only about a hundred meters, and the cooldown until reuse is a significant 120 seconds.
If I could also use “Break Size” with this… it would be an incredible cheat.
Lastly, “Manipulator of the Dark Night” is a skill set specialized in long-range area attacks. It’s the opposite of “Reaper,” engaging in a completely different type of battle, which makes it extremely enjoyable.
This is because you can freely manipulate a scythe as if using telekinesis to control it and freely send it flying to attack within a radius of a hundred meters.
As a result of various verifications, the weakness of “Manipulator” depends largely on the weapon rather than the wielder.
Although the scythe thrown by the technique “Telekinesis Size” can be freely manipulated for attacks, my stats are not reflected at all, and it becomes an attack based solely on the weapon’s attack power.
At this point… unfortunately, among the three types, it can be said to be the weakest. However, since it can also be thrown into the air, it’s versatile and useful in any situation.
Furthermore, the cooldown time until “Telekinesis Size” can be used again is an astonishing zero seconds. In other words, it can be thrown infinitely, and once thrown, it can be freely manipulated for 180 seconds.
After trying various things, the most useful combination is for me to ride on Pochi’s back while he hunts, and I use “Telekinesis Size” to hunt other magical beasts in a different direction.
Since they are properly stored in the magic bag even if they are far away, I thoroughly hunted down magical beasts throughout the Prayle Plains.
Six more months passed, and the seasons changed.
I turned seven, my younger brother Ruann turned six, and my sister Sofia turned five.
Ruann became a bit more dignified, and Sofia, resembling our mother, became even cuter.
“Beryl… you’re going, right?”
“Yeah. Dad. Mom. Ruann. Sofia.”
Immediately, Sofia clung to me.
“Big brother… promise me you’ll run away if it gets dangerous?”
“Of course. I promise. And besides, we have Pochi, and you know how fast Pochi is, right?”
“Yeah! Pochi! Please take care of big brother!”
“Bark!”
“Everyone. See you later.”
“Take care!”
