Reincarnated as a Farmer Gamer: Rising to the Top with the Evolution of the Weakest Job that Only I Know About!? - 26.1
Emblam Dungeon, Second Floor
While the scenery remains the same as the first floor, the heaviness of the air has changed.
Even though you couldn’t feel it in the game, there’s something quite thrilling about actually touching it with your own skin.
“Grrr…”
When Pochi looks towards the source of the intimidation, a Minotaur can be seen far down the corridor.
Compared to the degraded Minotaur, it’s one size larger and wields an axe in each hand.
Ah, brings back memories…!
Suppressing my excitement, I use “Shadow Step” with Pochi to swiftly approach.
It’s really convenient that the first strike is a guaranteed critical hit.
Jumping out from behind the Minotaur, I unleash a combo attack. I used this against the first floor boss.
Until now, it was basically a one-hit deal with anything below boss-level beasts, but this Minotaur, which couldn’t be defeated in one hit even after all this, roars and swings both axes towards me.
A powerful blow strikes the ground.
Without a moment’s rest, the Minotaur’s continuous attacks are repeatedly aimed at me.
While meticulously avoiding each one, I assess the surrounding terrain, ground conditions, air, the Minotaur’s gaze, and predict its next move.
There are always exceptions to everything.
Unlike the game, this is real. That day, when I fought against King Black Wolf, I realized there’s no certainty in battle.
Even when hunting other magical beasts on the first floor, I never thought I could definitely defeat them in one blow, so I’ve always been on guard. That’s why I’m able to calmly evade the Minotaur’s attacks.
I could roughly predict the Minotaur’s movements.
Now it’s my turn.
Reading the trajectory of the descending axe, I swing the Black Scythe accordingly.
“Gyaaaaa!”
Even magical beasts feel pain, and the more ferocious they become, the more monotonous their attacks get.
Continuing to dodge and swing the Black Scythe while moving my weight to the opposite side for consecutive attacks.
If I were to name it, perhaps “Slicing Through” would be appropriate?
Not only the technique but also this kind of movement is crucial in battle. I don’t have any martial arts knowledge, so I don’t know what I should do to improve. I just tried the moves I thought might work instinctively.
Well, not bad! Slicing Through!
On the third Slicing Through, the Minotaur dropped to its knees, and upon the fourth attack, it vanished into particles.
One guaranteed critical hit from behind and four regular attacks were enough to defeat it. I hit it in normal areas, so this set seems to be a surefire way to defeat it. Magical beasts don’t differ in stamina.
Now, what to try next…
“Pochi, I’m counting on you from the next battle.”
“Woof!”
Spotting the next prey, I unleash a combo starting with a guaranteed critical hit from behind.
Immediately, the Minotaur turns towards me, but then Pochi attacks its legs, stopping its movements.
With Agility now at 300, I can cover quite a distance with a single leap. Taking advantage of that—Slicing Through!
In an instant, I slash through the passing Minotaur, ensuring safety by maintaining distance.
Furthermore, Pochi continues the assault, swiftly defeating the Minotaur.
“Wow~! Pochi! Well done!”
“Arf!”
I pat Pochi as he runs up to me.
