Reincarnated as a Farmer Gamer: Rising to the Top with the Evolution of the Weakest Job that Only I Know About!? - 41.1
Jidigal Kingdom.
A country with vast territories to the south of the continent, where the king and nobles hold all authority, ruling over many people.
Numerous magical beasts inhabit it, and while food is abundant thanks to hunters and adventurers, on the flip side—those without power are subjected to a reign of terror by the nobles.
That’s the conclusion I reached after living in the metropolis of Emblam for two years.
As if to prove it, in the capital city of Gargantia, capital of the Jidigal Kingdom, I came to know even worse things.
“Young lady? You were begging in Emblam, weren’t you?”
“Hmm? Yes, I was. But there are no beggars in the capital.”
“Why is that?”
“According to Father, all the poor are forcibly relocated to a town west of the capital.”
Hmph… complete isolation for the weak, huh… Truly a nation of terror.
Passing through the glamorous main street of the clean and ornate capital city where not a single dirty alley can be found, the carriage entered the grounds lined with many large buildings.
“We’ve finally arrived. It was quite a journey.”
Beyond where the carriage stopped stretched a vast estate incomparable to our lord’s mansion.
A young man in a tailcoat approached.
“Welcome. You must be Miss Chloe A. Emblam?”
“Yes. I’m Chloe.”
“Congratulations on your enrollment. Allow me to guide you to the school building and dormitory.”
“Understood.”
We proceeded with the guided tour.
We were dropped off at the academy’s carriage station.
The massive building standing directly in front of us was the main campus of the academy.
Basically, all seated learning takes place here, and all classes exist here. So, I’ll be coming here every day.
To the left and right—strictly speaking, to the right, the East Wing is where students of the magic department attend classes. It looks like a tower, fitting for a magic department.
To the left, the West Wing consists of several single-story buildings where students of martial arts-related departments attend classes. Inside, it’s made like a training ground, with several private rooms, scarecrows for practice, places for matches, and even spectator seats.
Behind the main campus on the north side is where the cafeteria, dormitories, and a plaza and garden spread out.
Couples of second and third-year students were already cuddling in the garden, so I realized it’s a place I’ll never have any connection to.
There are two dormitories in total, quite far apart, apparently divided between boys and girls. By the way, if a boy enters the girls’ dormitory, he’ll be immediately expelled.
In a row, just north of the main campus is the cafeteria, and further north, centered around the plaza, with the girls’ dormitory to the east, the boys’ dormitory to the west, and a garden to the north.
In addition to the extensive grounds, there are apparently separate locations for horse training grounds and an auditorium, but they will be shown to us another day. Today, we were given a detailed explanation of the cafeteria and dormitories.
“Hey, Beryl. Don’t do anything weird, okay? And don’t go into the girls’ dormitory on your own. You could get expelled even if you’re a princess knight.”
Since I’ve always been with Rin, the guard, there shouldn’t be any problems. I also heard that Princess Knights enroll together, so I’m technically a student too. Of course, being a Princess Knight hasn’t changed.
After seeing the young lady off to the girls’ dormitory, I headed to the boys’ dormitory I was shown.
“Welcome. You’re the Princess Knight from the Emblam family, right?”
“Hello. I’m Beryl.”
