The remaining man attacked with swift thrusts, but I dodged them all by a hair’s breadth.

“What the hell!? Who is this guy?! Hey, you guys!”

The men who had fallen earlier stood up and joined in the attack. At this point even I was starting to get pissed off.

“If you don’t stop soon, you’re going to get hurt!”

“Shut the hell up!”

“I gave you a warning.”

I grabbed one of the swords and, putting all my strength into it, shattered it.

“W-What!?”

With his sword shattered, I drove my fist into the panicked man’s stomach.

“Ugh…!”

The man who took the punch dropped to his knees, gasping for air. The other two hesitated, unsure if they should keep fighting.

“Do you want to continue, or is that enough?”

I turned towards the two men, readying my fists.

“That’s enough!!”

Suddenly, a loud voice echoed through the air. Turning towards the sound, I saw an old man with a long beard and a staff, walking towards us with beast ears.

The elderly beast-eared man walked toward us, flanked by several beast-eared men, exuding an overwhelming presence.

When the old man and his men reached me, they all glared at me with expressions as fierce as demons.

“What’s going on? Are you all planning to fight too?”

I faced them and readied my fists, but just as I thought the battle would start, they all suddenly dropped to their knees and apologized.

“Huh?”

Looking more closely, I noticed that the three men who had caused trouble earlier and the beast-eared girl who sought my help were also kneeling and apologizing.

“W-what’s going on here?”
