☆1 Prologue 

That day, a typhoon had been approaching since the morning. 

My name is Souta Amagi. 

I’m a second-year student at Prefectural Youkou High School—just an ordinary high schooler. 

Well, if there’s anything slightly out of the ordinary about me, it’s that I can get the top grades in my year without studying. And I’ve always had decent athletic ability. Today, a typhoon was approaching, so the wind was strong. But since it wasn’t raining, it was fine. 

“Alright, time to enjoy some alone time,” 

I muttered as I sat down on the ground and leaned against the fence. 

But just then, Hayato Narumi, a classmate of mine, showed up. His glasses were gleaming as if he had been following me. He was holding some kind of paperwork. 

Even though he’s only a second-year, he’s the student council president. The only reason he got the position was that no one else wanted it. 

I mean, who in their right mind would willingly take on such a hassle? 

Maybe it helps with university recommendations? I wouldn’t know. 

For some reason, he doesn’t like me and is always looking for an excuse to mess with me. 

Probably because I always end up in first place on tests. It left him stuck in second. 

If he were a cute student council president like Irohas, I wouldn’t mind a little annoying interaction. But *you* are not that. 

“Amagi-kun, the rooftop is off-limits right now because the fence is under repair. Didn’t you see the sign at the entrance?” 

“As long as I don’t get close to the broken fence, it’s not a problem, right?” 

“That’s not the point. Why can’t you just follow the rules? That’s why you’re an outcast in class.” 

“I’m not an outcast—I *choose* to be isolated. I don’t want to get involved in annoying things.” 

“That right there! That chuunibyou way of talking—” 

Just as Narumi sighed and started to say something, a strong gust of wind blew through. It sent one of his papers flying. 

Narumi panicked and chased after it. But the paper seemed to mock him. It fluttered through the air and headed toward me instead. 

“Hey, grab that!” 

I sighed, annoyed. But if I got this over with quickly, I could get back to my anime. 

I also started chasing after it, but it was harder to catch than I expected. 

The two of us looked ridiculous, like we were trying to catch a runaway kitten. 

Finally, just in front of the broken fence, Narumi managed to snatch the paper and put it back in the stack. 

At that moment— 

A sudden, even stronger gust of wind hit us. 

Narumi, holding a bunch of papers in one hand, lost his balance. 

The next thing I knew, he crashed into the broken fence. Which gave way beneath him. 

His face twisted in shock and fear as he let out a short cry—”Uwah!”—and instinctively grabbed my arm. 

“Wait, WHAT!?” 

And just like that—before I could even process what was happening—we were both flung into the air. 

The wind roared in my ears, like I had been thrown straight into the middle of a typhoon. 

My vision blurred as the rooftop fence grew more and more distant. It made everything feel surreal, like a dream. 

My heart pounded violently. Adrenaline was rushing through my body as we plummeted helplessly.

In the darkness, my consciousness gradually returned. 

My body felt heavy. I couldn’t move. 

I started to hear sounds—voices in the distance, speaking words I couldn’t understand. 

Then, suddenly, a bright light pierced through my vision. It made me instinctively squeeze my eyes shut. 

In the next moment, my body felt strangely light. And a cold breeze touched my skin. 

When I finally managed to open my eyes, an unfamiliar ceiling stretched out above me. 

Around me stood people whose features were hard to place—neither fully European nor Middle Eastern. 

They were speaking to me, their faces filled with shock. 

But I couldn’t understand a single word they were saying.

When I looked down at my body, I saw small hands and feet. 

A wave of confusion and bewilderment crashed over me as I struggled to grasp the situation. 

After a while, based on the reactions of the people around me and the strange sensation of my own body, I began to understand—I had been reborn as a baby. 

Was this some country on Earth? Or… could it really be isekai reincarnation?? 

My brain reached its limit for processing information, and I could no longer think straight. 

The people around me were speaking, but I still couldn’t understand a single word. Their voices were just meaningless sounds to my ears. 

And then… something felt off. 

Their expressions. 

They were looking at me with disappointment. 

I could sense it instinctively—their sighs, their eyes filled with unfulfilled expectations. 

As I turned my head to look around, I noticed another baby lying nearby. 

That baby was staring at me with a shocked expression. 

………Something about those eyes felt oddly familiar. 

It was as if that guy was looking right at me.

That was my immediate gut feeling. 

The distinct shape of those eyes, the way they looked—it had to be Narumi. 

And then, before I could process anything further, some unfamiliar old man picked me up. He carried me out of what seemed to be a delivery room.
