☆11 Toward the Next Adventure
The summoning contract ritual turned out to be surprisingly simple.
As soon as Agni was drawn into the ring Elysia held out, the ring flared with an intense red light. It was as if it was on the verge of explosion—then, just like that, Agni vanished.
The ring now held a special magical power. And it was said to be worth the equivalent of five gold coins.
By the time the ritual was complete, Gald and Fia finally regained consciousness. Both of them groaned. They were pressing their temples to ease the headaches lingering from their ordeal.
“So, we just head back now?”
“Yes, that’s the plan…..… but since these two aren’t fully recovered yet, would you mind if we rested here for a bit?”
The dim glow of mana Elysia had released provided some light to the surroundings. But resting in a dark, eerie place like this didn’t seem very relaxing. Wouldn’t it be better outside?
“In the meantime, could you tell me what happened between you and Agni?”
Elysia fixed her amber eyes on me. A hint of curiosity flickered in them.
“Ah, well, nothing too complicated. He said if I wanted a contract, I had to prove my strength. Then he suddenly hurled a massive fireball at me. I snuffed it out with my mana and counterattacked. After that, I guess he decided to acknowledge my power.”
I shrugged as I answered.
Elysia’s eyes widened slightly in surprise. But she quickly smiled and nodded.
I didn’t mention my reversal ability.
“Keep your abilities hidden”—wasn’t there a saying like that in Hunter x Hunter or something?
“Hah! Don’t lie to me. There’s no way someone like you could earn Agni’s recognition. You must have tricked him with some sneaky tactics!”
Gald spat out his words. He was unable to hide his irritation.
Losing consciousness before even seeing Agni must have frustrated him—so now he was lashing out at me to vent.
“Gald, be silent.”
Elysia’s voice cut through the air. It was quiet yet firm.
Her sharp gaze pinned Gald in place. And with just that one command, his anger receded.
“Souta, your mana’s strength and radiance are proof enough for me to believe you. Without you, we wouldn’t have stood a chance. Allow me to thank you properly—truly, thank you.”
Elysia bowed deeply.
Her sincerity was unmistakable. The gratitude she expressed was real.
“Lady Elysia! You mustn’t lower your head to a mere human!”
Fia cried out, her face contorted in shock. But Elysia silenced her with a piercing glare.
Not that I cared. At this point, I was used to their whole superiority complex.
“Don’t worry about it. I just did the job I was hired for.”
Yeah, I only went through all that trouble for the ten gold coins.
Honestly, I should be the one thanking them for giving me an opportunity to realize my mana’s unique properties.

By the time we returned to the surface, night had already fallen.
The sky stretched above us, filled with glittering stars. While the faint glow of the moon cast a gentle light on the path ahead.
We climbed into the carriage and retraced our route back to the inn we had stayed at the night before.
Inside the carriage, exhaustion hung over the group like a heavy blanket. It was keeping everyone silent—except for Elysia.
She gazed at the ring in her hand, the one now holding Agni. She was utterly entranced.
It pulsed with a faint red glow. It cast an almost mystical atmosphere inside the carriage.
Her amber eyes sparkled as if she were admiring a precious gem. And her expression radiated satisfaction—pure joy at the newfound power in her possession.

The next morning.
We regrouped in the inn’s dining hall for breakfast.
After a good night’s sleep, all three of them looked completely refreshed.
The warm morning light streamed through the windows. It filled the lively hall with a pleasant, bustling energy.
“Souta, here’s your promised reward.”
Elysia handed me a small, elegantly embroidered pouch.
It was surprisingly heavy for its size.
When I peeked inside, my eyes widened—gold coins packed the pouch to the brim.
Wait……..
This is more than ten coins, isn’t it?
I glanced at Elysia in surprise. But she simply smiled at me. Her expression was filled with warmth and gratitude.
“You went above and beyond what was expected. So I added a bonus.”
Holy crap.
Hell yeah!
“And? What are your plans from here on? Will you be returning to Eldora with us?”
“L-Lady Elysia! The request has been completed—there’s no reason for us to continue traveling with this human!”
Fia immediately tried to object. But a sharp glare from Elysia shut her down. She backed off, grumbling under her breath.
At this point, their back-and-forth was basically a comedy skit.
Now that I think about it… I hadn’t given much thought to what I’d do next.
I vaguely remembered hearing that if I headed south from here, I’d find some kind of tropical resort.
Huh… should I go? Heading straight back would be boring. And since I’ve come this far, I might as well have some fun.
With this much money, I could afford to splurge a little.
“Nah, I won’t be going back to Eldora. I don’t have any set plans, but I figured I’d head south. Not really sure what’s down there, though.”
“South, you say? That would be Soldia. It’s full of paradise-like locations, always bustling with tourists.”
Elysia continued explaining.
“In particular, there’s a secluded island known as the Great Southern Chasm. It’s not just a tourist destination—it also attracts skilled adventurers. I hear they serve fresh seafood and exotic fruits you can’t find anywhere else.”
Wait, seriously?!
Now that she mentioned it, I hadn’t eaten any fish since reincarnating.
Forget grilled fish—I want sashimi!
Looks like I have to go now.
Elysia went quiet for a moment. She lowered her gaze and rested her chin on her hand. She was deep in thought. Then, as if coming to a decision, she lifted her head and spoke.
“I’ve always wanted to visit the Great Southern Chasm at least once. We don’t have any set plans either, so… would you mind if we joined you?”
“L-Lady Elysia!?”
I mean… I don’t really care.
“Fine by me. Having someone guide the way would be helpful.”
And they could handle the carriage and lodging arrangements, too.
With that, my next destination was set.
Blue skies and white sandy beaches await me.
