Reincarnated as Twins: And Then, I Was the Only One Abandoned - ☆36 Operation Begins
☆36 Operation Begins
The strategy meeting for the extermination mission had begun.
That said, there wasn’t much to discuss.
The plan was simple:
Wipe out the village,
Lilith would take on Kistopia,
The rest of us would deal with the 300 thralls,
Lucian would wait outside the village.
That was it.
Vampires supposedly have various abilities. But what exactly are they?
From what we heard earlier, the thralls don’t feed on bl00d but rather on mana.
“Vampire abilities vary by individual. But based on past cases, what kinds have been reported?”
Might as well ask.
“Overwhelming mana and physical prowess—far beyond human limits. On top of that, dark magic, powerful elemental spells, the ability to control magical beasts, summoning demons, and even mind control. Basically, assume they can do anything.”
She said that so casually.
You *do* realize you’ll be fighting one of these things, right?
“And as I mentioned earlier, the thralls no longer have free will. They act solely on their master’s commands.”
Lilith added this as if it were nothing and then—
“So, for you guys dealing with the thralls, don’t hold back. Just go wild.”
She flashed a grin.
That’s… pretty reckless.
I mean, sure, that’s what we’re going to do anyway. But shouldn’t there be a bit more structure to this?

As night deepened, silence enveloped the surroundings.
The moon hung high. It cast its cold light upon the earth.
Its glow filtered through the trees, creating intricate shadows on the ground. They were like delicate lace woven into the night’s curtain. As the wind whispered through the branches, the shadows shifted and swayed as if alive.
Orion concentrated his mana. He was letting it flow around his body. His form began to blur. He then completely melted into the darkness. At the exact moment his outline vanished, a faint rustling of wind brushed against my ears.
“Alright, I’ll go scout ahead. Sit tight.”
His voice came from somewhere unseen. Then, his presence vanished entirely.
Even in this darkness, there was no trace of him.
“If we’re wiping out the village, that means we don’t have to worry about damaging the buildings, right?”
Just in case, I confirmed with Lucian.
The cold night air stung my skin. Somewhere in the distance, an owl hooted.
“Yes… No one can live there anymore anyway.”
His voice, unsurprisingly, carried a hint of sorrow.
His birthplace—his home—would soon be erased from existence.
What must that feel like?
I couldn’t even begin to imagine. The thought left me at a loss for words.
Though I couldn’t see his face, I could hear the pain in his voice.
“It’s not uncommon for villages to vanish from the map. Not that it makes it any easier.”
For once, even Lilith spoke with a solemn tone.
Her words echoed through the quiet night.
After that, silence returned. The biting cold sank into our skin.
A while later, Orion reappeared from the shadows.
“Kistopia is in a large mansion slightly to the right of the village center. There’s no heavy guard presence. But as expected at night, the thralls are quite active.”
A brief silence followed his report.
The moonlight cast long shadows behind him.
…Right. Vampires *are* nocturnal creatures.
“So does that mean we should wait until dawn? Don’t vampires turn to ash in sunlight?”
I asked Lilith.
The moonlight illuminated her calm expression.
“Weaker ones, yes—sunlight is fatal to them. However, during the day, they can transform into bats and hide in the shadows. That makes it easy to miss some. Our goal is complete eradication. So we proceed now.”
Turning into bats, huh…
Yeah, they’re definitely not human anymore.
“Now then, Kai.”
Lilith turned to him, a glint of curiosity in her eyes.
“I’m very interested in seeing how much stronger your buffs make everyone—especially Elysia’s demon summoning. The fewer people in the group, the more powerful the effect, right?”
Kai met her gaze, visibly tense. But he nodded firmly.
“Yeah.”
After taking a deep breath, he steadied himself.
“Good. Then for now, let’s focus the buff on Elysia alone. Orion and Elios, you two will stay outside the village and eliminate any thralls that try to escape. And Souta—”
Lilith turned to me.
The moonlight cast a soft glow on her face.
“You’ll go with Elisia and provide backup.”
…Backup?
She probably meant in case the demon she summons goes rogue.
Easy for her to say.
“Got it… for now.”
I mean, for now.
If things get out of hand, I’m definitely bailing.
“Alright then—let’s move out.”
Lilith smirked as she signaled the start of the operation.
