“Hmm… it’s about time.”
Hiding among the trees and observing the battle, Ordis murmured in a low voice.
“With Baldorak and the beasts holding them off, their troops have started to cluster near the forest entrance.”
He stroked his beard with satisfaction before turning his gaze toward me and Elysia.
“Are you ready?”
“Yes, anytime.”
Elysia gave a small nod. Her eyes were filled with quiet determination.
“Alright, then. Go make a mess of them.”
At Ordis’ command, we silently exchanged glances.
Then, in the next moment, we kicked off from the shadows of the forest and sprinted forward.
Ahead of us, the enemy soldiers came into view. They were trapped in confusion and clustered together.
The clamor of clashing metal and desperate shouts filled the battlefield. It drew closer with every step.
Targeting a spot just outside the densest area, we advanced without hesitation.
Our footsteps barely made a sound. Yet, we maintained a steady momentum, smoothly closing the distance.
As we neared the forest entrance, Elysia came to a halt and quietly began preparing her summoning magic. Low chanting escaped her lips, and the air around us shifted.
Just as Ordis had described, the scene before us was utter chaos.
At a glance, the number of stranded knights easily exceeded several hundred. Their sheer density was a testament to their growing panic and fear.
Then—
A sinister presence materialized beside Elysia. It marked the completion of her chant.
A creature with three heads—one of a bull, one of a human, and one of a sheep.
Its taloned feet were like those of a rooster, digging into the earth. While a venomous serpent tail slithered and hissed ominously.
The summoned being was none other than the Demon God of Poison—Asmodeus.
Its grotesque form exuded a suffocating aura of intimidation. It was enough to strike fear into the hearts of all who laid eyes upon it.
Elysia spoke calmly to the demon.
“Asmodeus, go and wreak havoc on those knights over there.”
“Understood.”
Three overlapping voices echoed from its mouths in eerie unison.
With heavy, earth-shaking footsteps, the massive abomination lunged toward the cluster of knights.
Despite its seemingly sluggish bulk, it moved with astonishing speed. It swept up its prey before they could even react.

“Uwaaaaaahhh!!”
“W-what the hell is this monster?!”
Toxic miasma engulfed the knights. And with each swift slash of the serpent tail, agonized screams and fountains of bl00d filled the air.
Without hesitation, Asmodeus unleashed its monstrous power. He trampled and obliterated everything in its path.
“T-the elf woman over there summoned it!”
Amidst the chaos, one knight pointed and shouted.
At his fingertip stood Elysia, locked in a trance-like state.
“Then let’s take her down—”
The man braced himself to charge. But a sharp voice cut through the turmoil.
“Stop!! Do not lay a hand on the elf woman!!”
The other knight’s voice was laced with urgency.
“Why not?! At this rate—”
“Think!! What if she’s the Princess of Eldarin?! If we make a mistake, there’s no taking it back!!”
“…Princess?! Her?!”
A stunned silence momentarily swept across the battlefield.
The tense stillness was broken by another knight’s panicked cry.
“T-then what are we supposed to do?!”
“Fall back!! Report to the commanders!!”
“But—”
“Don’t stop moving!! If you want to survive, retreat now—”
Before he could finish, another knight suddenly shouted.
“Huh?! That…!”
“What is it?! Why are you stopping?! Do you want to die?!”
“No, look… next to the elf!! The one standing beside her—”
“Next to her…?”
All eyes turned toward the figure standing beside Elysia.
The moment they saw him, every knight froze in place.
“!!!!!!”
“Y-Your Majesty Alexis?! Why is he over there?!”
“Retreat!! Report this to the commanders at once!!”
“F-Fall back!! Now!!”
Shouting frantically, the knights scrambled to flee.
Amid the lingering tension and confusion, the sound of their retreating footsteps echoed across the battlefield.

“Y-Your Majesty Alexis! We’ve received… an unusual report from the frontline…!”
A breathless officer rushed to Alexis. His steps faltered in urgency. His expression was clouded with bewilderment.
“An unusual report?”
Alexis furrowed his brows and asked skeptically.
“Not a status update?”
“N-no, sir! That is… according to multiple witnesses, they saw Your Majesty among the enemy ranks!”
“Me?”
Alexis tilted his head slightly in surprise.
Then, in a composed voice, he replied.
“What nonsense. I’ve been here the entire time.”
“Y-yes, of course! That is undeniable!”
The officer wiped the sweat from his brow as he continued hastily.
“But… multiple soldiers swear they saw Your Majesty standing beside the enemy elf woman!”
Alexis lowered his gaze for a moment, deep in thought.
“They saw me…? What does that mean?”
An enemy illusion?
A trick designed to sow confusion and weaken their morale?
He carefully considered each possibility.
However—
A certain thought flickered across his mind.
The moment it surfaced, a faint smile crept onto his lips.
“…No, it couldn’t be.”
There was a hint of amusement, almost a sense of anticipation, in that smile.
“Guess I’ll go see for myself.”
