Reincarnated as Twins: And Then, I Was the Only One Abandoned - ☆73 Epilogue
☆73 Epilogue
The autumn sky stretched endlessly. It was crystal clear, with the sun shining brightly overhead. A crisp breeze gently swept through the city. It was rustling the golden-colored roadside trees.
Until recently, this place had been called the Elysia Autonomous Territory. But now, it had been reborn as Utopia, the royal capital of the Valhalion Kingdom. People from all over had gathered here, filling the streets with vibrant energy. It made the entire city look like the setting for a grand festival.
By the way, I was the one who came up with the name *Utopia*. I suddenly recalled that in my previous life, the word meant an “ideal land”. And I named it with the hope that this place would remain a paradise for eternity.
And for me, right now, this place is an ideal land.
As for what I’m doing at this very moment…
I’m in Elysia’s mansion. I was being fussed over by maids and attendants as they carefully groom and dress me.
Seriously, I can dress myself just fine…
My hairstyle was even cut straight across the bangs in some kind of elven royal fashion or whatever.
…It’s awful.
It’s way too awful.
I’ll let it slide for today. But starting tomorrow, I’m doing my own hair.
Swearing that to myself, I resigned to the dressing process, letting them do whatever.
Then, I heard a light knock at the door.
“Yeah, come in.”
I casually replied and turned around—only to see Kai, Lucian, and Nactis standing there in full formal attire.
And the next moment—
They pointed at me and burst out laughing.
“Bwahaha! Boss, what’s up with that hairstyle?!”
“Souta… I’m disappointed in you. What is that ridiculous look…?”
“Hey, Souta, it actually suits you. I mean, I wouldn’t la—Nope, can’t hold it in! Wahahaha!”
…These guys are hopeless.
I definitely need to put them in their place.
Annoyed, I lightly released some mana to exert a bit of pressure.
Sensing the shift in atmosphere, the three of them quickly made their excuses—”W-well, see ya later!”—and bolted out of the room.
As they left, Lilith and Ordis entered in their place.
“What happened? Those three were clutching their stomachs, laughing on their way out.”
Lilith tilted her head curiously.
“Don’t worry about it… I’ll make sure they get a proper lesson later.”
As I brushed it off, Lilith chuckled lightly and shrugged.
“Hmm. Still, you really do look the part of royalty now. Though, rather than a king, you give off more of a prince-like vibe.”
Ordis was dressed in gleaming knight’s armor. He observed me with a hint of admiration. His presence was dignified, exuding the aura of a proper knight.
By the way, Ordis had taken on the role of Marshal of the New Valhalion Kingdom Army.
He had mentioned wanting to retire from the adventuring life, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask—and he accepted without hesitation.
Someday, when Lilith retires, I plan to offer her an important position as well.
As we continued chatting, the door was knocked on once again.
“Come in.”
—The moment the door opened, I instinctively held my breath.
Standing there was—
Elysia, dressed in a pure white wedding gown.
She was breathtaking.
Her flawless, porcelain-like skin was accentuated by the intricate, luxurious accessories she wore. Each one of them was sparkling brilliantly. She was almost dazzling to look at.
“Is something wrong?”
Elysia’s voice brought me back to reality—I must have been completely mesmerized by her appearance.
“Ahh… You look so stunning, I’m at a loss for words. As expected of an elven princess.”
Lilith let out a deep sigh of admiration, her voice filled with awe.
“Thank you. I’m not used to wearing outfits like this, so it’s a bit difficult to walk…”
Even as she spoke, Elysia’s gentle smile was as elegant as ever.
It was almost like something out of a painting.
“So? What does the groom think?”
Lilith suddenly directed the question at me.
…Wait.
Now, all eyes were on me.
Even Elysia was staring at me expectantly, her eyes full of anticipation.
And to make matters worse, the maids and attendants in the room were also watching with keen interest.
“Uh, well… um… I mean…”
I struggled to find the right words. After a few tries, I finally managed to speak.
“I think… you look absolutely stunning… Yeah.”
As soon as I managed to put my thoughts into words, Elysia smiled happily. Her cheeks were tinged with a faint blush.
—Seriously, give me a break.
◆◆◆
The wedding ceremony proceeded without a hitch.
I stood at the altar beside Elysia, who shone in her pure white gown. I could feel the solemn and sacred atmosphere surrounding us.
An elf appeared to be the officiating priest. He spoke a flowing blessing. And soon after, warm applause filled the hall. The sound was soft, gentle, and seemed to embrace this moment completely.
I wasn’t sure if this wedding was a typical one or if it followed elven traditions. But just looking at the joyful faces of everyone present filled my heart with overwhelming emotion.
—Suddenly, I thought about my past life.
My parents and older brother, whose faces I could barely recall anymore.
Back then, they were probably the only ones who mourned my death.
I had no friends, after all.
That’s why I wished they could see me now.
They must have worried about me—about how I never made friends and was always so cynical.
They must have grieved, thinking my life had been too short.
Look at me now.
I’m standing here, marrying an elven princess.
So many people have gathered to celebrate us.
There’s no need to be sad anymore.
The person I’ve become—the life I’m living now—is filled with happiness.
I could only hope that somehow, across time and space, this feeling would reach them.
I couldn’t help but pray for that.
