Rich Woman, But Got Dumped By A Jerk Three Times. - Chapter 11
Chapter 11: I Like It Very Much
“I thought you weren’t interested in her, and then she offended you—one thing led to another, and it naturally got delayed.” Nuo Ye took a sip of wine, then leaned in to ask: “So, is there really no one in that band that catches your eye?”
The decorative wind chime hanging on the curtain was lightly swayed by the draft from the closing door.
The dim lights flickered. Yun Jiushu’s hand, holding the glass, paused slightly. The voices in her ear became briefly indistinct.
Those familiar, vibrant colors flowed into the bar like fish, chatting and laughing with the waiter. Yun Jiushu’s gaze was fixed on the splash of black at the very end.
Why did she run into her again?
Did she just speak to me?
Before Yun Jiushu could fully process these two questions, the group had already disappeared with the waiter into the bar’s back kitchen.
There was no time for further thought; her body reacted subconsciously.
“Hey, where are you going?” Nuo Ye’s rambling voice cut off as she saw the person suddenly stand up. She immediately stood too: “The boss is already here. I’m sticking with you tonight, no matter what you’re up to. Don’t try to disappear on me again.”
Feeling the weight on her wrist, Yun Jiushu was pulled back to her senses.
Noticing the spilled wine on the table, she belatedly realized what she had just done.
“Nothing, I just sat for too long and my back hurts a bit.” Randomly finding an excuse, Yun Jiushu gathered her long hair around her neck, feigning a stretch. She smiled and asked, “Why are you so agitated?”
“Come on, someone wipe this up.”
The spilled wine was starting to drip down. Nuo Ye called out to a server, then stood next to Yun Jiushu: “I just thought I said something you didn’t like. What I did last time really wasn’t thoughtful. You haven’t taken it to heart, have you?”
After the failed matchmaking attempt last time and Yun Jiushu’s busyness, Nuo Ye felt inexplicably panicked after failing to arrange a meeting a few times.
Although Yun Jiushu usually seemed charming and casual, smiling with everyone, she was actually extremely vengeful.
And her grudges were always repaid on the spot. If she couldn’t resolve it immediately, she wouldn’t let it fade with time. Instead, she would resent it more and more until she thoroughly released her pent-up anger.
A person with such a temperament was a good blade—capable, and also able to handle trouble.
One just had to be absolutely sure to keep a tight grip on her and ensure the sharp edge was always facing outward.
Nuo Ye collected her thoughts and gently tugged on Yun Jiushu’s clothing, adopting a submissive posture.
“Boss Nuo, what are you talking about?” Yun Jiushu turned her head to look at the server cleaning the table and smiled: “The gift you gave me last time, I liked it very much.”
Nuo Ye, who was anxiously watching Yun Jiushu, secretly sighed in relief upon hearing this: “Really?”
“Mhm.” Yun Jiushu nodded. Just as she was about to say something, a boom of the drum from the stage signaled the band’s appearance.
It was 9:30 PM again.
Tonight, Decay was still packed. The loud, crowded atmosphere made Yun Jiushu feel inexplicably irritable.
The wine spilled all over the floor was mopped away. The server was fast, and the mess under the table was cleaned up.
But Yun Jiushu’s thoughts just wouldn’t settle.
Why did I lose my composure? And why was it for that person?
Her gaze uncontrollably searched again. The drummer was sitting in the corner, surrounded by a glass barrier. She couldn’t clearly see the expression, only the swirl of black hair.
She’s still able to perform. Looks like her injury isn’t too serious.
Damn it, I’ve already paid the compensation. Why should I still worry about her injury?
Her thoughts were tangled in her mind. Yun Jiushu disliked this feeling and let out a light tsk.
Noticing Yun Jiushu’s distraction again.
Nuo Ye followed her gaze, muttering internally.
If it wasn’t that mute person, who else caught Yun Jiushu’s attention?
On stage, the band was loud and unrestrained. The brightly colored hair flashed under the dim lights, igniting the entire atmosphere.
Looks like I still need to screen people within this group.
The screen on her phone lit up. Nuo Ye turned her head and waved in the distance: “Yangzi, over here!”
A figure approached from afar. Yun Jiushu smoothly withdrew her gaze and looked over as well.
The woman, not particularly tall, was slightly plump.
Her chestnut-colored long hair was permed into curls, making the pink on her lips look even richer. The woman who walked closer smiled gently: “Sorry, there was traffic. Have you been waiting long?”
“This is my childhood friend and the owner of this bar, Chen Ruoyang,” Nuo Ye chuckled, winking at the person before her: “And this is the owner of Yun Ji Private Cuisine, Yun Jiushu.”
Someone had helped with the introduction. Yun Jiushu curved her lips, politely stood up, and extended her hand.
“I’ve heard about you from Yezi (Nuo Ye),” Chen Ruoyang gently shook her hand, then politely released it: “A Beijinger, who started from scratch in Yeyu five years ago and built a fully-booked establishment. Now, your branch in Chuncheng is even more magnificent and luxurious.”
Listening to the introduction, Yun Jiushu’s smile widened: “Boss Nuo always exaggerates. I’m a newcomer here and have much to learn. I hope to have more opportunities to learn from Boss Chen in the future.”
As seasoned business players, the mutually complimentary start quickly closed the distance between them.
The cleaned table was set with new drinks. Chen Ruoyang was very talkative, and with Nuo Ye present, the atmosphere quickly became relaxed and lively.
Until the new drinks were finished.
A slightly tipsy Nuo Ye chuckled, pretending to be mysterious: “Actually, Boss Chen has two more killer moves for good business that she hasn’t told you.”
“Yezi, don’t talk nonsense,” Chen Ruoyang laughed teasingly, as if she already knew Nuo Ye’s mischief: “Those are my pillars of income. How could I just give them away?”
Intrigued, Yun Jiushu played along and asked: “What are they?”
“One will be a secret for now,” Nuo Ye’s eyes darted around. She vaguely pointed toward the stage: “The other is this band.”
Her sudden mention of the band finally made Yun Jiushu shift her attention.
Looking at the stage again, the band’s performance had already ended. Only pop music was playing to clear the residual excitement.
“That’s right,” Chen Ruoyang hummed twice, crossing her arms, her expression a little proud: “You wouldn’t believe it, but I fought hard to snatch this band from several other bosses.”
“They just finished their set and are resting now,” Nuo Ye raised an eyebrow, winking suggestively: “I’ll call them over to introduce them to Boss Jiu. You haven’t experienced the atmosphere in her place; it’s quite elegant.”
Hearing Nuo Ye steer the conversation this way, Yun Jiushu immediately understood her intention.
It seems Nuo Ye hadn’t given up after the failed introduction last time and was still trying to work this angle.
But she never bothered with this aspect back in Yeyu. Why was she so eager now that they were in Chuncheng?
Yun Jiushu curved her lips, not replying, and took a sip of her wine.
“Really?” Chen Ruoyang immediately said, “Then I’ll tell them to settle up and wait. You might think this band is talented, but they’re actually very cheap. The people in the band are short on money and are asking if they can add another set.”
As she spoke, Chen Ruoyang sent a message: “They’ll be right over. Boss Jiu, what kind of music do you usually like? Let me tell you, the people in this band can play everything.”
Listening to Chen Ruoyang and Nuo Ye praising them one after another, Yun Jiushu just sipped her wine and didn’t interrupt.
“Sister Chen.” A respectful call. The people who had been on stage just moments ago had all come over.
Their brightly colored, contrasting hair was very conspicuous under the lights. Yun Jiushu casually raised her eyes, feigning indifference.
But there was no trace of black in the group.
