Rising to Power with Void Magic ~An Exiled Genius Magician Decides To Take Revenge With His New Friends and Create a Utopia~ - Episode 12
Allen had been training at the Ancient Ruins for many seasons.
Allen’s control over his Void Magic had improved to an incredible degree. Now, his power was entirely different from what it had been. He had the ability to cut space, twist it, and then reconnect it. His desire for vengeance had driven him to sharpen and strengthen his magic.
Allen’s interactions with Luna, Garud, and Elena had also evolved.
There, in that hostile environment, they had lived and trained together. They had come to regard one another as allies, even though the old mistrust had not entirely vanished.
Allen’s space manipulation and Elena’s wind magic combined to ensure that there were no blind spots. Garud increased Allen’s fighting power by crafting weapons out of unidentified metals discovered in the ruins. Allen gained a deeper understanding of Void Magic thanks to Luna’s ancient knowledge.
They had developed into a strong team and were no longer merely a collection of individuals.
Allen continued to collect news from the outside world using Garud’s secret dwarf information network and Luna’s knowledge. At last, he discovered Gilbert, his target, was moving.
Gilbert von Alster.
Gilbert had become famous by pretending to have slain a monster in the ruins after betraying Allen. He had gained the favour of Ordolin, the new lord of a nearby city. He had swiftly advanced in rank and assumed command of the city’s armed forces by using his noble charm and fictitious accomplishments. He was now the commander of the lord’s knights.
After learning of the report, Allen stated icily, “He’s living quite comfortably.” His eyes were blazing with hatred.
The moment had arrived for retribution.
Allen and his friends were hiding in the forest close to Ordolin a few weeks later.
They had learnt that an official noble title was on the horizon for Gilbert. The lord’s mansion would host a generous celebration party.
“There will be the lord, strong nobility, and commanders of knights… Allen grinned and remarked, “This is the ideal stage.”
He intended to judge Gilbert in front of everyone and crush his fleeting glory at its height. This was Allen’s initial act of retaliation.
The four of them made a thorough plan and laid out a map of the mansion.
Garud examined actual routes and potential hazards. Luna examined the mansion’s detection spells and magical barriers. Elena checked the guard patterns using her wind magic. With all of this knowledge, Allen created a route with his Void Magic.
Garud pointed to the map and remarked, “The party hall is particularly secure.” “However, there must be weaker periods and places.”
“The magic defences are challenging. The mansion is protected by multiple layers of elemental barriers. It won’t be effective to attack directly,” Luna continued.
“The guards in the garden alternate shifts if I follow the wind currents. For a moment, their watch becomes weaker. “We could make use of that,” Elena said.
“All right,” Allen said. At that point, I’ll open a space gate. Once we’re inside, proceed as necessary. Gilbert, in the party hall, is our ultimate objective.
There was no need for additional words. They all understood their responsibilities and had total faith in one another.
The lord’s mansion in Ordolin was a flurry of activity and glowed with lights on the night of the celebration. The hall was filled with well-dressed knights and nobles. The guards kept a close eye on things.
Allen and his friends waited in the dark of the garden bushes.
Elena used wind magic to give a sign.
“Now. The guards are changing. For a moment, the watch in the west tower is absent.
“All right,” Allen said.
He extended his hands. Black mist started to form as the air around him twisted.
He muttered, “Open… Void Gate.”
There was a silent dark crack in the air. They could make out a dark area inside the mansion on the other side of the gate.
Allen said, “Let’s go.”
They entered the gate one by one. Silently, it closed behind them.
Physical traps and magical eyes awaited inside the mansion. However, they were able to avoid all danger thanks to Garud’s guidance, Elena’s senses, and Luna’s interference with the spell.
Allen led the team closer to the party by moving stealthily through the shadows with Shadow Wolves.
They could hear happy voices and music growing louder.
A massive chandelier hung from the ceiling of the opulent party hall. The walls were adorned with pricey paintings. Glass-wearing nobles conversed and laughed as a band performed tasteful tunes. It was the epitome of splendour.
Gilbert, dressed elegantly, stood on a raised platform at the centre and delivered a proud speech.
“You all and our gracious lord deserve this honour! Allen, the traitor, no longer poses a threat. Ordolin is at peace again! I swear to do everything in my power to serve this city!
Falsehoods.
However, there was a loud clap from the guests.
Lilia was standing next to Gilbert, wearing a lovely dress, grinning strangely. But there was a secret sadness in her eyes. There was no sign of Dario.
Allen stood with his hood down, silently observing from behind a pillar in the corner. His body exuded a chilly, dark aura that gave the surrounding air an odd feeling. Burning hate filled his heart, the same hate he had experienced since the day he was betrayed.
Allen gave his team a brief telepathic message:
(“Let’s get started.”)
He moved slowly out of the shadows and into the middle of the hallway. The audience fell silent. The music ceased. Everybody looked at him.
Gilbert appeared puzzled as he paused his speech.
“Who are you? Why are you here?
Allen halted his stride. He drew back his hood and looked up.
Although his face had changed over time, the features of the previous Allen remained; they were darker, sharper, and more deeply sorrowful.
Gilbert’s face turned pale. He froze in shock and fear.
“A… Allen!? No… this can’t be! You were supposed to be dead!”
Lilia gasped and covered her mouth. The entire hall was silent.
Allen looked straight at the man who was once his friend—and now his greatest enemy. His voice was quiet but clear enough to reach every corner of the room.
“Long time no see, Gilbert.”
And then—
“It’s time for revenge.”
A massive pressure burst from Allen’s body.
It wasn’t just magic—it was a power that shook space itself. The party hall froze in fear.
The elegant celebration turned into the stage for a bloody revenge.
