Rumor Has It I Don’t Follow A-Class Morals - Chapter 46
When Su Yin first entered the campus, she was still quite cautious, but now she was gradually starting to relax. So when Ming Muyao told her to get out of the car, she only hesitated a little before following her out.
The weather was nice today, and the campus was incredibly peaceful—it gave off the feeling of being in a secluded paradise.
Behind them were tall, leafy trees that blocked out the sun, and ahead stretched a clear, serene lake. Along the shores of the artificial lake, quite a few people were sitting together in groups, though it wasn’t clear what they were doing.
Su Yin glanced around, eyes lighting up more and more.
This was the school she wanted to get into. This was the dream university she had been yearning for!
Seeing the look on her face, Ming Muyao smiled and said, “Let’s go take a walk over there. You’ll get a better feel for the place on foot than just driving around.”
Su Yin nodded and quickly caught up with her. The two of them strolled leisurely down a small path.
Omega Education Academy covered a huge area. It had once been a top-tier school in the city, but over time, due to issues related to gender dynamics and the school’s inclusivity, it had slowly fallen behind and was no longer quite in sync with the direction of modern education.
It wasn’t that the school was bad—just that compared to the other schools in the city, it had definitely fallen a bit behind.
“Last year, the cutoff score for this school was 580. Not sure what it’ll be this year,” Ming Muyao said. “Do you think that score will be hard to reach?”
Su Yin looked up at her, thought for a moment, and said, “There’s a mock exam next week. Once the scores come out, I can compare.”
If it were during her senior year of high school, 580 would’ve been within reach. She wasn’t the brightest student, but she had always ranked near the top of her class. And since this school mainly recruited Omega students, the competition wasn’t especially fierce.
As they chatted, they continued walking through the campus.
The sun was slowly setting, casting an orange glow on the path ahead of them.
She wasn’t sure how far they had walked, but they had gone from the artificial lake area to somewhere near the classroom buildings. Su Yin’s legs were getting sore from all the walking, and she couldn’t help but say, “This school is huge…”
It had taken them nearly 20 minutes just to walk from the parking lot to here—only to reach a new section of campus.
Su Yin glanced back at the path they had come from. Thinking about having to walk all the way back made her legs feel like jelly.
There were a lot more people here than along the path earlier—probably because classes had just ended. Students were pouring out of the academic buildings, laughing and chatting in groups, full of youthful energy.
Su Yin was clearly envious as she watched them, her eyes filled with curiosity at the books they were carrying.
Ming Muyao noticed and leaned in to whisper by her ear, “No need to be jealous. One day, that’ll be you too.”
Su Yin’s ear tingled at her words. She looked up at Ming Muyao, and after a long pause, replied softly, “Okay.”
After that, the two of them wandered around a bit more before circling back to the parking lot. Originally, Ming Muyao had planned for them to try the school cafeteria, but on second thought, having cafeteria food for both lunch and dinner seemed kind of sad. Plus, Aunt Chen had probably already made dinner and was waiting for them to come home, so eating out again wouldn’t be appropriate.
So, Ming Muyao drove Su Yin home, retracing the route they’d taken earlier.
On the way back, Su Yin was noticeably in better spirits.
Everything today had gone well. Her mother had finally shown some signs of improvement, and the results from the specialists would probably be out in the next couple of days. They had also visited the school Su Yin wanted to apply to. She’d been so happy walking through the campus.
When they got home, Aunt Chen had already prepared a full table of dishes. Seeing the two of them return covered in dust, she asked curiously, “Weren’t you just going to the nursing home? What took you so long?”
“We took a detour and ended up hitting some traffic on the way back,” Ming Muyao said as she took off her jacket. Then she turned to Su Yin and added, “You didn’t finish your homework yet, right? After dinner, you need to get on that. We’ve got a hospital follow-up appointment tomorrow.”
Su Yin nodded cheerfully. “Got it! I’ll go put my stuff upstairs first.”
Seeing her run upstairs, Aunt Chen called after her, “Just drop your things and come down quick! The food’s getting cold!”
“Okay!”
Watching Su Yin carry her backpack upstairs, Ming Muyao turned to Aunt Chen and said, “Her mom’s condition improved today. She was really happy about it.”
Aunt Chen looked surprised. “Improved? Is she waking up soon?”
“Probably,” Ming Muyao said vaguely. “We’ll have to wait for the doctors to give a clear answer.”
Aunt Chen was excited too. “Then let’s open a bottle of red wine to celebrate?”
“Sure.” Ming Muyao smiled, her eyes crinkling. “Pick one with a low alcohol content, so Su Yin can have a little too.”
Even though they had to go to the hospital tomorrow and Su Yin still had homework to finish tonight, a small glass of low-alcohol wine wouldn’t hurt. The rest, Ming Muyao could drink herself or have Aunt Chen store it away.
Later that evening, Ming Muyao came to give Su Yin another treatment. This time, the girl nestled in her arms with her face bright red, clinging to Ming Muyao’s neck without asking for kisses. The two of them stayed close together through the half-hour session.
The next morning, Su Yin was still half-asleep when she got up. Ming Muyao had breakfast with her, and since the roads weren’t too busy, she took her out early.
They arrived at the hospital’s outpatient department just as the doctors were beginning their shift. They managed to catch the first round, and it was the same doctor from before who saw them.
After checking Su Yin, the doctor nodded in satisfaction. “She’s doing much better. It looks like the treatment’s working.”
Ming Muyao was clearly happy to hear that. All her hard work releasing pheromones hadn’t been for nothing. She glanced at Su Yin and asked the doctor, “Should we continue with the same treatment?”
The doctor nodded and rubbed his hands with sanitizer. “It’s definitely showing results. I’ll prescribe a few more supportive meds. The ones I gave you earlier—have you finished them? If not, just keep taking them until they’re gone. No need to waste them.”
Su Yin rubbed her neck and said, “But I don’t really feel much different…”
In her heart, she was still resistant to the idea of going into heat. Even though the treatments with Ming Muyao had gone smoothly and even felt good, the thought of getting better only to be forced into heat every month—and having to do that kind of thing with Ming Muyao—made her deeply uncomfortable.
She hated the feeling of losing control over her body. She didn’t even like doing that stuff, but because of the heat, she’d be forced to be intimate with someone.
Every time it ended, she hated herself for it.
She’s a person with thoughts and awareness—why should she be forced into intimacy with someone she doesn’t even like, just because of a biological cycle?
It’s disgusting.
Su Yin frowned slightly but didn’t say any of this out loud. Ming Muyao was an Alpha—there was no way she could understand. Saying it would only confuse her.
Ming Muyao was being really good to her now. She wasn’t violent or scary anymore. She was gentle and kind.
Su Yin thought, If I ever really come to like her, it should be because she’s good to me, because she makes me feel safe—not because I can’t control my body during heat.
Seeing Su Yin’s expression, Ming Muyao figured she must be troubled by the whole heat cycle thing.
She had once been forced to stay in an isolation ward after Heng Jingxian’s assistant suddenly went into heat, so she had a basic understanding of why Omegas struggled with employment—and just how hard it was to deal with going into heat.
It was like the cats and dogs in her old world. If they weren’t spayed or neutered, they couldn’t control themselves and would just keep breeding until they died.
Omegas in this world were a little better off, but the underlying principle was the same. So she could more or less understand why Su Yin felt the way she did.
“Going into heat really is a pain,” Ming Muyao said after a moment of thought. “If it really bothers you that much, then once you’re fully recovered, we can talk to a doctor about how to fix it.”
Su Yin froze for a second.
“I’ve heard there are treatments now—medications or implants that can suppress the heat cycle,” Ming Muyao said. “If you truly don’t want to go through it anymore, we can consider that. But only after your body fully recovers. Got it?”
Su Yin’s eyes widened slightly as she looked at her and nodded.
She couldn’t believe that Ming Muyao was actually willing to let her undergo a procedure to suppress her heat. It sounded almost unreal, and she couldn’t process it at first.
It wasn’t until Ming Muyao walked away to pick up the medication that Su Yin slowly started to understand what she meant.
Ming Muyao was saying that once Su Yin’s glands were healed, she could choose for herself—choose whether or not she wanted to keep going into heat.
Su Yin could hardly believe it. Why would Ming Muyao agree to something like that?
She had thought that all the effort she’d put into Su Yin’s recovery was just so they could keep being intimate. She wasn’t stupid—she could tell that Ming Muyao liked her.
But now, after what she said today… it just felt way too considerate.
