Rumor Has It I Don’t Follow A-Class Morals - Chapter 53
Dancing right in front of the person herself—this was the first time Fang Qiongyan had experienced something so mortifying.
She was so embarrassed she practically wanted to crawl into a hole. Staring at Su Yin in shock, she covered her mouth and said, “You’re Ming Muyao’s wife?”
Su Yin shyly hid behind Ming Muyao, and even without answering, that was answer enough.
Ming Muyao ignored Fang Qiongyan’s stunned reaction. She turned to Su Yin, who was peeking out from behind her, and said with some displeasure, “You’re not even an assistant—why are you making coffee for people? I haven’t even had your coffee that many times.”
Su Yin looked at her awkwardly, tugged at the corner of her lips in a smile, and said, “Then I’ll make you some later.”
“Okay.” Ming Muyao looked at her seriously and said, “I want the exact same one you made for her.”
Su Yin nodded.
Ming Muyao took her hand and led her out of the break room. As they walked, she said, “Did you finish your assignments before running off? You already have a heavy workload, and now you’re slacking. What do you want for lunch? I’ll order something for you later…”
Watching the two walk off and disappear down the hall, Fang Qiongyan thought for a second, then quickly grabbed her bag and bolted without looking back.
Once the two were back in the office, Ming Muyao pushed Su Yin into a chair and looked down at her textbook—which barely had two lines written—then frowned. “You’ve been slacking.”
Su Yin looked at the page in embarrassment and said softly, “I’ll write more in a bit.”
“Forget it. There are still two days left in the weekend anyway. No need to rush.” Ming Muyao sat down across from her and said, “That woman asked you to make coffee, and you just went along with it? You never think about saying no?”
“She looked really tired, and it’s true—it’s a hot day,” Su Yin smiled at her. “It’s not a big deal.”
“Not a big deal?” Ming Muyao scoffed. “She already wants to recruit you for part-time work, and you still think it’s no big deal.”
“At least that means my coffee really is good.” Su Yin got up and said, “Then I’ll make you a cup too.”
“Sit down.” Ming Muyao pulled her back into the chair and said helplessly, “Your job right now is to study and get good grades. Anyone can make coffee. If no one does, I can order it. But studying—only you can do that, got it?”
Su Yin felt a warm glow inside. She obediently sat back in the chair and thought for a moment. “Then I’ll make it for you at home.”
Ming Muyao let out a soft chuckle and said, “Just stay in my office and don’t run off anywhere. I need to talk to someone about work. I’ll order lunch for us later, let’s just eat something simple.”
“Okay.” Su Yin nodded obediently.
After giving her a few more instructions, Ming Muyao left the office and found Heng Jingxian standing by the floor-to-ceiling window in the break room, sipping from a bottle of mineral water. Smiling, she said, “I’ve just finished handling things. Want to go somewhere to talk?”
“No need. Here is fine.” Heng Jingxian sat down on a nearby chair and gestured for Ming Muyao to sit too.
As soon as she sat, Heng Jingxian looked at her curiously and asked, “That girl earlier—is she your partner?”
“Yeah.” Ming Muyao figured she must’ve overheard their conversation earlier, so she openly admitted it. “Since I had to work overtime today, I brought her along. Didn’t expect something like that to happen though. Sorry you had to witness it.”
“It’s not a big deal.” Heng Jingxian seemed to be thinking about something. After looking at Ming Muyao for a moment, she said, “You’ve never mentioned that you’re married.”
Even though Ming Muyao’s hidden marriage was basically an open secret in the industry, she herself had never acknowledged it publicly.
Seeing her partner so suddenly like that had genuinely surprised Heng Jingxian.
This woman… is really different from the rumors.
Ming Muyao looked out the window with a helpless expression. “I did keep a lot of things hidden before. I’ve caused Su Yin some pain because of it. Now I’m doing what I can to make it up to her.”
Even though she wasn’t the one who had hurt Su Yin, Ming Muyao had decided to bear the blame anyway. It was what it was—she was used to it.
Heng Jingxian was silent for a long moment before saying, “I get it now.”
Ming Muyao glanced at her, unsure what exactly she thought she “got.”
Heng Jingxian didn’t stay for lunch. After she left the company, Ming Muyao’s work was wrapped up for the time being.
When she returned to the office, she saw Su Yin focused on organizing practice papers. The notebook that had only a few lines written earlier was now completely filled.
Su Yin was so focused she didn’t even notice Ming Muyao approaching.
“How’s the writing going?”
The sudden voice startled Su Yin, and her pen swiped across the page, leaving a long, messy line.
“Ah!”
She quickly pulled the pen away and looked at the streak before glancing up at Ming Muyao helplessly. “See what you did?”
Ming Muyao blinked and grinned. She leaned in and teased, “What, you gonna scold me over one little line?”
Su Yin gave a small sigh. “I wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh, I think you would.” Ming Muyao leaned closer, wrapped an arm around Su Yin’s waist, and said, “You’ve gotten bolder lately. Remember a month ago? You wouldn’t even breathe loud around me. And now? You’re already complaining.”
Su Yin’s ears turned red. She avoided her gaze and stood up, trying to escape her hold. “I didn’t. Don’t make stuff up.”
Ming Muyao laughed, clearly delighted. She grabbed Su Yin and, catching her off guard, lifted her right onto the desk.
“Ah!”
Su Yin clung to Ming Muyao’s shoulders in shock, her butt landing squarely on her notebook. Her cheeks flushed bright red. “I’m sitting on my notes! Put me down!”
“Nope.” Ming Muyao held her firmly by the waist and locked eyes with her. “You yelled at me just now. I deserve an explanation.”
“I didn’t yell at you.” Su Yin felt like she was being played with. Sitting there on the desk with her feet dangling, she looked at Ming Muyao and said, “All I said was ‘look what you did.’ That’s not yelling. You used to say way meaner stuff to me.”
Ming Muyao’s smile froze.
Realizing she’d said something wrong, Su Yin immediately stiffened and apologized nervously, “I… I didn’t mean it like that. Don’t be mad.”
“…I’m not mad.” Ming Muyao wiped the smile from her face and looked at her seriously. “Those things from the past won’t happen again. From now on, if you want to yell at me, go ahead. I won’t say a word back.”
Su Yin looked at her, smiling with eyes full of warmth. “Then wouldn’t I be the shameless one now?”
Seeing those two dimples appear on her face, Ming Muyao’s heart melted. She leaned in, their foreheads touching.
At such close distance, Su Yin blushed instantly. She wanted to push her away, but couldn’t summon any strength.
It’s like… something’s holding me in place.
She didn’t struggle. Instead, she quietly closed her eyes, letting Ming Muyao kiss her.
In the quiet office, all that could be heard was the sound of their breathing. Su Yin could even hear her own racing heartbeat—it felt like it was about to jump right out of her chest.
Her nose was filled with Ming Muyao’s intoxicating scent of rum. Her tongue tingled from the sensation. It felt like being completely submerged in wine—drifting and floating.
Ming Muyao wrapped her arms around Su Yin’s slender waist, gently caressing that soft layer of skin. While kissing her lips, she pulled Su Yin closer into her arms.
Su Yin’s face was bright red, eyes closed tightly, her long, slender arms draped over Ming Muyao’s shoulders. She frowned slightly with discomfort as they kissed. Her rising body temperature made her feel like a little heater in Ming Muyao’s arms.
When the long kiss finally ended, Ming Muyao cupped Su Yin’s tomato-red face and couldn’t help but laugh. “Why is your face so red? If someone didn’t know better, they’d think I cooked you.”
Su Yin covered her lips with the back of her hand and shot her a glare.
That one look, full of glistening emotion, made Ming Muyao’s heart skip again. She reached out, pulled Su Yin’s hand away, and went back in for another kiss.
This time, Su Yin whimpered and struggled, but Ming Muyao was too strong. Soon she gave in, letting herself be kissed again.
Her lips were bitten so hard they started to peel. Su Yin blinked at her, sitting on the desk with her hands clenched around her skirt, saying nothing.
Ming Muyao looked a little sheepish. She gently touched Su Yin’s lips and said in a small voice, “It’s torn… You can’t eat anything spicy for lunch.”
Su Yin gave her a pouty look. Is that really the issue here?
Seeing her expression, Ming Muyao laughed again. But she knew if she kissed her anymore, her lips would be in even worse shape. So she sighed and said, “Okay, okay, I was wrong. I’m sorry.”
Su Yin touched her lips and asked, “How am I supposed to go out now?”
“You can still go out.” Ming Muyao leaned close and whispered, “But if anyone asks… it might be a little awkward.”
“You…”
“I promise I won’t do it again.”
Ming Muyao grinned as she squeezed Su Yin’s waist, her eyes crinkling with laughter. When they were doing therapy, kissing had been part of the treatment to release pheromones. But this time—it wasn’t about therapy.
This time, Ming Muyao had just really wanted to kiss her.
And she did.
It proved one thing—she really liked Su Yin. Not just for therapy. She wanted to kiss her every day, hold her in her arms, and tease her to her heart’s content.
Su Yin was still a little upset, but she didn’t say anything more. After a pause, she asked, “What are we eating for lunch? Are we going home?”
“No.” Ming Muyao softened her voice. “This afternoon, we’ll go visit your mom at the care center. For lunch, we’ll just grab something simple downstairs. Sound good?”
The moment she heard they were going to see her mom, Su Yin’s eyes lit up. She still remembered how, last week, her mom had moved her lips slightly while lying in bed. Back then, she thought it was a sign her mom was waking up, but the doctors couldn’t give a clear answer.
Originally, Su Yin had planned to bring her test scores next time as proof of her progress. But she’d done so poorly this time, she cried for days and didn’t have the heart to go see her.
But now that Ming Muyao brought it up, she really wanted to go.
“Okay. Let’s go this afternoon.” Su Yin clenched her little fists and told Ming Muyao, “No matter how I did on the test, Mom needs to know.”
Seeing the determination on her face, Ming Muyao chuckled softly.
“Then we’ll go soon.”
