Rumor Has It I Don’t Follow A-Class Morals - Chapter 61
The newly formed, pale-pink gland looked just like an unopened flower bud in early spring—delicate and cautious, yet undeniably adorable.
This was the first time Ming Muyao had seen a gland that was still mostly intact. Compared to the previous grotesque, ravaged state, the difference was night and day.
The air in the room was strangely still. Ming Muyao stared at that flower-bud-like gland and slowly reached out, gently rubbing the tender skin with the pad of her index finger.
Su Yin shivered violently in her arms. She pulled her neck in and turned her head, her eyes misty with tears as she looked at Ming Muyao.
Seeing her scared expression, Ming Muyao asked hoarsely, “Does it hurt?”
Su Yin shook her head, clutching tightly at the hem of her dress, saying nothing.
The scent of unease in the air grew stronger—an anxiety-ridden pheromone that made Ming Muyao wonder if Su Yin was truly frightened. Otherwise, why would she look at her with such apprehension?
The gland under her finger felt incredibly soft, like the skin of a newborn. Ming Muyao could even feel a pulse beating faintly beneath it, along with a lingering, intoxicating scent.
Glands were where pheromones were stored, so the scent here was far stronger than anywhere else. When Ming Muyao gently pressed twice on the area, Su Yin’s whole body went limp, and her pheromones spilled out uncontrollably.
The room was suddenly filled with the thick scent of her pheromones, making Ming Muyao momentarily dizzy.
Then, out of nowhere, a vivid image flashed through her mind—Su Yin beneath her on the bed, eyes brimming with tears, struggling to say something through sobs. But Ming Muyao couldn’t hear any of it. Her head was filled with only one thing—raw, animalistic desire. The pure instinct of an alpha.
The feeling of her teeth piercing the gland had been so strange. Su Yin had cried her heart out, trembling as she begged her to stop, but Ming Muyao hadn’t let go. Instead, she’d cruelly torn into the tender flesh, only stopping when Su Yin was covered in bl00d.
That wasn’t intimacy. That was brutality.
The memory lasted only a second, but Ming Muyao knew—these were memories from the body itself. Even if the soul was gone, the body still remembered.
Especially memories burned in by instinct.
When Ming Muyao blinked and snapped back to reality, she realized she was now holding Su Yin in her arms. Su Yin was trembling violently, gripping her shoulder where it wrapped around her neck, sobbing uncontrollably.
Ming Muyao hadn’t used much force, but Su Yin was clearly terrified. She quickly loosened her grip and looked at her. “I’m sorry… I didn’t do anything just now, did I?”
Su Yin’s cheeks were streaked with tears, her sobs nearly choking her. The tears kept falling like a broken string of pearls.
“Please… don’t bite me… I’m begging you…”
Su Yin trembled, crystal tears clinging to her lashes as she cried to Ming Muyao. “I’m so scared… please…”
“Don’t be scared, don’t be scared.”
Ming Muyao’s heart twisted painfully. She held Su Yin tighter, gently patting her back. “I blanked out for a moment. I didn’t mean to scare you. Don’t cry, okay?”
Su Yin buried her face in Ming Muyao’s neck, clutching the hem of her clothes, still unable to stop crying.
Ming Muyao had no idea what she’d done, but she was certain she must’ve frightened Su Yin somehow.
Thinking about that flash of memory just now, Ming Muyao felt a chill down her spine. She had seen it—Su Yin lying on the bed, her nape covered in bl00d, looking like someone had slit her throat.
Was that really how the old Ming Muyao had treated Su Yin in bed?
No wonder Su Yin was crying so hard.
Ming Muyao held her for a long time, gently soothing her until her emotions settled somewhat. Then she whispered, “I won’t treat you like that ever again.”
Even though she knew her words might not be convincing, she couldn’t help wanting to distance herself from the Ming Muyao of the past. She wanted Su Yin to understand that she wasn’t the same person, that she would never hurt her like that again.
Later, she didn’t know how much time had passed. Su Yin must’ve cried herself out and eventually fell asleep in Ming Muyao’s arms.
Ming Muyao sat there, quietly watching Su Yin’s tear-streaked face even in sleep. Her heart felt unbearably heavy.
The next morning, Su Yin woke up still groggy and disoriented. When the events of last night came rushing back, she shot upright.
Her clothes were still on properly. Su Yin instinctively touched the back of her neck—the gland felt warm, but there was no pain or injury.
She glanced around and realized Ming Muyao was nowhere to be seen.
Last night, Ming Muyao had been holding her the whole time. Su Yin had no idea when she’d left. Thinking back, she felt a wave of panic.
In truth, she remembered everything clearly.
Ming Muyao was her alpha. Her pheromones would naturally influence her. That moment when Ming Muyao zoned out and leaned in close—she’d almost bitten her.
Su Yin had been terrified. She’d grabbed Ming Muyao’s hand and struggled desperately, crying and begging her not to.
The memories of being intimate with Ming Muyao were full of pain. Her body reacted instinctively, trembling uncontrollably, hyperventilating, tears flowing—refusing to let Ming Muyao touch her.
It wasn’t the first time this had happened. In the beginning, Ming Muyao had still shown a little patience, trying to coax her into compliance.
But later, she lost interest in pretending. After yelling and hitting her, she’d discovered something she enjoyed more—watching Su Yin suffer.
At first, it was just minor injuries. But later, Ming Muyao began to crave the sight of bl00d.
She once said that Su Yin’s skin was so pale, it would look even better with marks.
That period of time was unbearable. Su Yin’s gland was ruined, her health deteriorated, and every time she saw Ming Muyao, it felt like staring into the eyes of a demon. Even the slightest touch would send her into a panic.
Eventually, she even thought—maybe it’d be better to die.
Ming Muyao hurt people so easily. If Su Yin killed herself, there’d only be another victim to take her place. Maybe it’d be better to kill Ming Muyao first, then herself. That way, the world would be quieter—there’d be less suffering.
After that car accident, the idea took root in her mind.
But she’d been too timid. All she’d done was injure Ming Muyao’s hand. She didn’t have the courage to finish it.
Thankfully, after the car accident, Ming Muyao had changed. She no longer treated her as cruelly as before. She even started acting gentle, speaking softly, with a kind and pretty demeanor.
But last night… Su Yin saw that bloodthirsty woman again.
She recognized that look—it was the same expression, the same eyes filled with the urge to bite into her gland.
She was back.
That old Ming Muyao was back!
Su Yin had cried in fear, her whole body shaking, begging her not to bite. In the end, she must’ve cried herself to sleep.
Thinking about it now, Su Yin still felt a lingering fear.
Had that version of Ming Muyao really returned?
Was her peaceful life already over?
It’s too soon. This is way too soon…
Clutching the edge of the blanket, Su Yin furrowed her brows in pain. I’ve only just started dreaming of a better future… is it really all going to fall apart already?
After dragging her feet for a long time, Su Yin finally changed into clean clothes and went downstairs.
No matter what happened yesterday, she still had to face it. At the very least, Ming Muyao hadn’t bitten her last night despite her pleas. That had to mean there was still some room for communication—some chance they could talk things out.
When Aunt Chen heard her coming down, she looked up and said, “Yinyin, how come you slept so late today? It’s almost noon. You should just wait for lunch. If you’re hungry, have a couple apples first.”
Su Yin looked around but didn’t see Ming Muyao anywhere.
Where was she?
Su Yin was confused. Ming Muyao had worked overtime yesterday—wasn’t today Sunday? Why wasn’t she home?
She had been planning to have a proper talk with her today.
Aunt Chen noticed Su Yin’s disappointed expression and chuckled. “Looking for Muyao? She left early this morning. Said something came up at the company and went in to work again. She told me not to wake you and let you rest.”
“She’s working again?”
“Yep. Left in a hurry too. Must’ve been something important.”
Aunt Chen glanced at her, then asked with a teasing tone, “So… how are things going between you and Muyao now?”
Su Yin didn’t understand what she meant.
Aunt Chen blinked at her and said, “You’ve been home from the hospital for so long. Any progress between you two?”
Su Yin shook her head.
Aunt Chen sighed and looked at her seriously. “If it were the old Ming Muyao, I would’ve told you to run as far away as possible. But ever since she lost her memory, it’s like she became a whole new person. Her temper’s better, her personality’s changed, and she really cares about you. If she keeps being like this… maybe you could try giving her a chance.”
“…But what if she changes back?”
“That…”
Aunt Chen was left speechless by that. She looked at Su Yin and cautiously asked, “Wait… did Ming Muyao get her memory back?”
Su Yin shook her head. She didn’t know how to explain—last night had truly scared her.
Aunt Chen could see she wasn’t going to get an answer, so she went off to prepare lunch.
Su Yin sat on the couch, staring blankly out into the yard.
The weather was beautiful. Early summer sunshine bathed the garden in gold, but the brighter it was outside, the heavier her heart felt.
After lunch, Su Yin went to wash the dishes.
Aunt Chen quickly stopped her. “You should focus on studying! Why are you always helping me with dishes? Anyone who sees this would think you’re my daughter, here to work as a maid!”
Kicked out of the kitchen, Su Yin looked at her helplessly. “Then what should I do today?”
“If you’re really that bored, why don’t you bring Muyao some afternoon tea?” Aunt Chen glanced at her and smiled. “You’ve been out of it since you came downstairs. Missing her already, huh? There’s a new pastry shop that just opened at the community entrance. Go grab something and surprise her at the office.”
Pastry shop?
Su Yin thought it over. Not seeing Ming Muyao today really made her uneasy. The more she thought about it, the more she felt Aunt Chen had a point. She nodded. “Okay, I’ll pick up some pastries and bring them over.”
She changed into going-out clothes, grabbed her phone and keys, and left the neighborhood. After buying some traditional Chinese pastries, she headed to Ming Muyao’s company by subway.
It was the weekend, so there weren’t many people working. The security guard at the entrance recognized her and didn’t stop her. She carried the box of pastries into the elevator.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, she heard someone call out from outside—
“Hold the elevator!”
