Rumor Has It I Don’t Follow A-Class Morals - Chapter 9
Before heading home, Ming Muyao patted down her coat several times to make sure that overpowering perfume from that Omega hadn’t clung to her clothes. Only then did she muster the courage to go back.
What the hell is this?
This is supposed to be ‘my’ home. Why do I feel like a thief sneaking back in?
Though confused, Ming Muyao still walked in like she was supposed to. The moment she reached the gate, she saw Aunt Chen waiting in the courtyard. She thought for a second that Aunt Chen was waiting for her.
As soon as Aunt Chen saw her return, she stepped forward, helped her take off her coat, and asked, “How’s the wound healing? Did the doctor say anything?”
“It’s fine. Same as before,” Ming Muyao replied. “No water on it, change the dressing twice a day—once at night is fine. It’ll heal in about a week.”
“That’s good to hear.” Aunt Chen hugged the coat and said, “You should stay out of the kitchen from now on. Too many sharp tools in there. If you get hurt again, it won’t be worth it. Just let me handle things—that’s what I’m here for.”
Ming Muyao smiled and nodded. “Alright, got it. Let’s go inside.”
“I’m waiting on a delivery,” Aunt Chen said. “The courier just called. Said he’s almost here. Shouldn’t be long, so I’ll stay out here a bit.”
“Delivery?”
Just as Ming Muyao was wondering what that was about, a three-wheeled electric delivery vehicle rolled up right in front of them.
“Hi there, delivery for Ming Muyao,” the courier said after glancing at them. “Which one of you is signing?”
Ming Muyao heard her name and frowned. What did I order? But after a quick mental calculation, she figured it must’ve been something the previous Ming Muyao had bought.
She’d been in the hospital for two days, then spent another two recovering at home. If it was something shipped slowly, it’d make sense for it to arrive around now.
“I’ll sign for it,” she said calmly, though she was really curious about what had been ordered.
After signing, Aunt Chen lifted a big box off the vehicle. She hefted it and said, “Pretty heavy. Muyao, what did you buy?”
Staring at the tightly sealed box, Ming Muyao shook her head. “I don’t remember.”
They exchanged a look, neither able to guess what was inside. They could only carry it back inside to find out.
As they entered the house, Su Yin came to greet them. She glanced at Aunt Chen, then at Ming Muyao, and finally fixed her eyes on the large box Aunt Chen was holding. “What’s that?”
“No idea,” Ming Muyao replied as she changed her shoes. She took the box from Aunt Chen, tested the weight, and said, “Pretty heavy. No clue what’s in here. Could you grab me a pair of scissors?”
Su Yin nodded and pulled a blue-handled pair from a cabinet in the living room. When she handed them over, she held the blade end and pointed the handles toward Ming Muyao.
The sight made Ming Muyao smile, her eyes crinkling with amusement. “Thanks.”
The word “thanks” seemed unfamiliar to Su Yin. She stared at Ming Muyao’s face for a long time, uncomfortable and confused.
Ming Muyao, however, focused all her attention on the package. After tearing it open, she found layers of protective foam inside, with various items wrapped tightly—big and small, and they all looked… kind of expensive.
She picked one of the flatter items to open first. The moment she saw it, she yelped and threw it back into the box.
It was a metal mesh bra, cool and shiny, inlaid with colorful crystals. It looked like something straight out of someone’s twisted fantasy.
The sight made her break out in goosebumps. What the hell?! She never expected the original Ming Muyao to have bought an entire box of adult toys.
Aunt Chen caught a glimpse and cried out in surprise, then immediately covered her face and fled to the kitchen. For a moment, only Ming Muyao and Su Yin were left in the living room.
The lingerie had a “unique” design and was clearly high-quality. Ming Muyao glanced again and noticed that the size was smaller than what she normally wore.
So it’s not for me… Then the only person it could be for was…
Su Yin had obviously seen it too. She didn’t look away. Her face had gone ghostly pale as she stared at the box, seemingly realizing these things were meant for her.
Ming Muyao felt awkward. She quickly shut the box and cleared her throat. “I… I didn’t know I’d bought these before. Don’t worry. None of it’s going to be used on you.”
Su Yin looked up at her, confusion flickering in her eyes.
“Aren’t I your Omega?” Su Yin asked, clearly puzzled. “Or… are those things for someone else?”
Ming Muyao: …Well, that’s awkward.
She sighed and rubbed her temples helplessly. Then she looked at Su Yin and explained, “They’re not for you, and not for anyone else either. I promised I wouldn’t hurt you anymore—and I meant it. These things must’ve been bought before I lost my memory. I don’t remember any of it.”
Su Yin stared at her with no reaction in her eyes, clearly not buying it.
A sense of helplessness washed over Ming Muyao. She knew it would be hard to change Su Yin’s opinion of her, and with a giant box of “evidence” sitting right there, it made her words even less convincing. She could only sigh again and say, “I’ll have Aunt Chen throw it out. You can watch her do it, if that makes you feel better. Is that okay?”
Su Yin lowered her eyes and said softly, “I’ll do whatever you say.”
Since she’d decided to throw them out, there was no point in opening the rest. Ming Muyao carried the box to Aunt Chen and said, “Can you get rid of this? Somewhere far away, please. It’s… too embarrassing.”
Aunt Chen looked surprised. She glanced into the box again, then looked at Ming Muyao. “You’re serious about throwing it out?”
“Yeah.” Ming Muyao nodded firmly. “And if you find anything else like this in the house, please throw it out too. None of it’s going to be used anymore.”
Aunt Chen wasn’t sure if Ming Muyao was serious or just messing with her. After double- and triple-checking, she finally accepted it, though she seemed uneasy about the whole thing.
Ming Muyao didn’t follow along while Aunt Chen cleaned up, so she had no idea where all those things had been hidden. But in the end, Aunt Chen gathered up all sorts of little props—there were handcuffs, ropes, whips… the works.
Su Yin sat quietly on the living room sofa, her face calm, while Ming Muyao looked on, eyes wide.
Three full boxes of stuff. All lined up at the front door.
Aunt Chen looked them over and asked again, “Are you sure you want to throw them all out?”
Ming Muyao felt her head buzzing but still nodded. “All of it.”
Su Yin stood nearby and watched Aunt Chen carry everything away. Then she turned to Ming Muyao, her eyes filled with confusion.
Why is she doing this?
Su Yin stared at her, baffled. If this is just for show, it’s already way over the top.
She got hurt because of me, and now she’s throwing away everything she usually used… This doesn’t make sense. Is Ming Muyao really someone with such a good temper?
Absolutely not. I know what kind of person she is.
She still remembered clearly how she’d once been beaten just for chatting with a delivery guy. If she made even the smallest mistake, she’d be burned with a cigarette. The bruises all over her body—every single one of them—came from this woman.
How could she suddenly turn into someone so kind?
This has to be another trick. She’s definitely up to something new.
Maybe she wants to lure me in, make me let my guard down…
Then when I finally think it’s safe, she’ll go right back to choking me and laughing in my face.
It’s all possible.
This twisted woman probably just got bored with the old toys and wants to order a new batch. These ones don’t do it for her anymore.
No way I’m falling for this again.
I’ve already seen through her fake kindness!
“…Su Yin?”
The sudden sound of her name startled her. Su Yin flinched and looked up to see Ming Muyao standing close—too close. She hadn’t even noticed her approach. Her whole body started trembling.
Ming Muyao noticed how pale she looked and instinctively reached out to touch Su Yin’s forehead.
“AHHHHHH!!”
Su Yin’s pupils dilated in terror as she screamed, dropped to the floor, and hugged her head, trembling violently.
She’s going to hit me!
Ming Muyao was stunned, her raised hand frozen in mid-air. She didn’t know what to do. Watching Su Yin curl up in a ball, shaking like a leaf, her expression darkened.
She looked at her own hand and started to wonder what kind of monster the original Ming Muyao had been to leave Su Yin this terrified.
Just raising her hand was enough to send the girl into a full-blown panic attack.
“Su Yin.”
After a moment to collect herself, Ming Muyao crouched down and said gently, “I won’t touch you. Don’t be scared. Everything’s been thrown out. I won’t lay a finger on you ever again, okay?”
Su Yin kept her hands over her ears and her eyes tightly shut. She didn’t hear a thing.
The sight made Ming Muyao’s chest tighten with a dull ache. She slowly reached out and touched Su Yin’s arm. The girl flinched violently but didn’t resist. She just froze up like she’d already accepted her fate.
Seeing that, Ming Muyao’s eyes dimmed. She finally worked up the courage to pull her into a hug.
“Don’t be afraid,” she whispered, gently patting Su Yin’s back and stroking her hair. “I won’t hurt you again. I swear. You don’t have to be scared anymore.”
Su Yin’s eyes were red as she looked up from Ming Muyao’s arms. She stared into that gentle face, and for a second, the fear in her heart seemed to melt away.
It’s the same face… but why doesn’t it feel like her?
Su Yin trembled in Ming Muyao’s arms. People don’t change. This feeling that she’s someone else—it’s dangerous. If she finds out I’m thinking this way, she’ll beat me again for sure.
This has to be a trick. Just an illusion…
It’s all in my head…
