Rumor Has It, That Omega Rocked the Stage Again! - Chapter 23
On the other side, Ji Yu successfully took Mu Li away from the Mecha Club. When they arrived inside the spaceship, she had just let out a sigh of relief when she noticed Mu Li lying on the sofa, unconsciously tearing at her own clothes.
If Ji Yu had managed to somewhat control herself during Mu Li’s first Heat, preventing herself from sinking into the same state, this time was different. Before they could even return home, they were confined together in the cramped space of the spaceship. Ji Yu felt that even facing the Queen Zerg had never been this challenging.
Ji Yu set the spaceship’s destination to the Ji family’s ancient castle. She didn’t trust outside doctors, nor did she want more people to witness Mu Li in the throes of her Heat.
Mu Li had already shed her outermost layer of clothing, and the collar of her inner shirt was askew, revealing glimpses of her delicate collarbone. Ji Yu sat at the pilot’s console, forcing herself to stay as far away from Mu Li as possible to maintain her composure.
But she had underestimated an Omega’s desperate longing for an Alpha during Heat.
Slender arms wrapped around Ji Yu’s neck from behind, delicate fingers gripping her arms, trapping her. Mu Li’s warm breath brushed against the scent gland on the back of Ji Yu’s neck.
Ji Yu turned slightly, intending to remove Mu Li’s hands, but the moment she grasped Mu Li’s arm, the Omega clung tighter, like a child unwilling to let go of a beloved toy.
As if sensing Ji Yu’s attempt to distance herself, Mu Li nuzzled against Ji Yu’s scent gland, inhaling deeply.
The last thread of Ji Yu’s restraint was fraying. She bit the tip of her lip, the taste of bl00d sharpening her focus for a fleeting moment. But the pheromones hidden in the bl00d only excited Mu Li further. Gently, Mu Li licked Ji Yu’s barely noticeable scent gland, then—as if unsatisfied—nipped at it with her teeth, leaving faint marks.
Ji Yu’s bl00d surged toward her scent gland. While an Omega’s scent gland was a vital organ for marking, an Alpha’s gland, when licked by an Omega, was an unmistakable invitation.
Unable to endure any longer, Ji Yu pulled Mu Li around to face her, seating the Omega on the console in front of her.
Mu Li’s face was flushed, her eyes hazy as she gazed at Ji Yu, long lashes fluttering. The usually composed and aloof beauty now rested her hands on Ji Yu’s shoulders, revealing a faint dimple.
This was too unfair!
Ji Yu’s temples throbbed violently. She covered her face with her hands. Who was she? Where was she? What was she supposed to do?
Her pheromones spilled out uncontrollably under Mu Li’s teasing. Cold Spring droplets trickled onto tender Rose petals, adding an elusive, mysterious allure.
When Ji Yu didn’t respond, Mu Li tilted her head slightly and pressed a fleeting kiss to Ji Yu’s cheek before pulling back with an ingratiating smile.
Ji Yu froze. Ji Yu combusted. Ji Yu was gone.
She took Mu Li’s hands away and cupped the Omega’s face, staring into her eyes. “Mu Li, look at me. Do you know who I am?”
Mu Li’s voice, unlike its usual clarity, was slow and languid. “You’re Ji Yu.”
Just as Ji Yu was about to speak, Mu Li added, “Ji Yu is my Alpha. She told me to come to her for anything. I’m being good.”
Ji Yu’s heart felt as if it were being gripped tightly. Mu Li remembered—Mu Li had firmly committed her words to memory, even during the haze of her Heat. Mu Li’s words seemed to give Ji Yu a reason, satisfying the Alpha’s twisted possessiveness over her Omega.
Unable to hold back any longer, Ji Yu pulled Mu Li’s hands toward her and leaned close to her ear, whispering, “Mumu, remember—I am your Alpha.” With that, she bent down and sank her teeth into the scent gland at the nape of Mu Li’s neck.
The moment Ji Yu bit down, pheromones surged violently into Mu Li’s system. Overwhelmed, Mu Li struggled to break free, but Ji Yu refused to let her escape.
Wrapping her arms tightly around Mu Li, Ji Yu held her firmly in place, leaving no room for resistance.
The intense influx of pheromones forced tears to well up in Mu Li’s eyes. The two clashing scents raged wildly before gradually merging into one, drawing a soft, discomforted whimper from Mu Li.
Ji Yu soothingly patted Mu Li’s back. She had once scorned the idea of AO marking, believing it to be nothing more than a beastly loss of control.
Yet today, she discovered just how intoxicating it could be. Still, mindful that this was Mu Li’s first temporary marking, she forced herself to release Mu Li shortly after.
As soon as Ji Yu let go, Mu Li collapsed into her arms, unconscious.
Gently stroking Mu Li’s long hair, Ji Yu quietly reflected on everything that had happened.
An Omega’s Heat typically came once a year, yet Mu Li’s had occurred just months after the last. Narrowing her eyes, Ji Yu concluded—this had been orchestrated.
And now, after exposing their relationship in front of the Mecha Club members and marking Mu Li, she wondered if Mu Li would resent her once she regained her senses. Every detail of this situation was troublesome. Rubbing her temples, Ji Yu exhaled heavily.
When the spaceship landed in front of the Ji family estate, the doors slid open, and Ji Yu stepped out, carrying Mu Li in her arms.
The butler, a Beta unable to detect pheromones, hurried forward upon seeing Mu Li unconscious. “Miss Ji, what happened to Miss Mu? Should I call a doctor?”
Ji Yu nodded. She had already pieced it together during the flight—Mu Li had been forced into Heat, though by whom remained unclear. “Take her to my room. Summon the family physician immediately.”
After the examination, the doctor confirmed Mu Li was unharmed, explaining that she had been affected by an Omega inducer commonly used in nightlife venues. Fortunately, prompt treatment had prevented any lasting damage.
Seated in the study, Ji Yu frowned. Mu Li had only gone to the principal’s office to submit some documents—how had she ended up targeted? It seemed the First Military Academy was riddled with corruption.
Picking up her communicator, Ji Yu contacted her adjutant. “Investigate something for me…”
Once arrangements were made, Ji Yu returned to the room. Mu Li was awake now but turned her head away the moment Ji Yu entered, her ears tinged red with embarrassment.
Ji Yu understood Mu Li’s discomfort.
When Mu Li first woke, she had touched the back of her neck, wincing at the pain and the clear bite mark left behind. Memories flooded back—she had been forced into Heat, Ji Yu had taken her away in front of the Mecha Club, and then, aboard the spaceship, they had undergone a temporary marking.
Mu Li felt her face growing hotter the more she thought about it. Recalling everything Ji Yu had done to her, she shamefully removed her hand from the side of her neck.
Yet at the same time, she had to admit—deep down, she was grateful Ji Yu had been there. She didn’t resent what had happened.
Seeing that Ji Yu didn’t seem inclined to speak first, Mu Li awkwardly began, “I… we…”
Ji Yu looked at her in confusion. “Hmm?”
Mu Li met Ji Yu’s serious expression and felt like they weren’t on the same page at all. How could Ji Yu remain so composed after everything that had happened?
What Mu Li didn’t know was that Ji Yu had long clenched her hands behind her back. Heaven knew how hard she was trying not to let her joy at marking Mu Li show on her face!
Mu Li steeled herself and continued, “After leaving the Mecha Club…”
But she found she couldn’t go on. After leaving the Mecha Club, was it you who carried me onto the spaceship? Was it you who marked me? Did I offend you while I was out of my mind? She couldn’t bring herself to say it—it was just too embarrassing!
When she fell silent, Ji Yu looked at her and enunciated slowly, “Mumu, I marked you.”
Even though Mu Li already knew this, hearing Ji Yu state it so bluntly made her want to burrow under the blankets and hide.
Mu Li’s gaze darted away, avoiding Ji Yu’s eyes. Though Ji Yu was also afraid Mu Li would blame her, they had to talk about it eventually. As an Alpha, she couldn’t force her Omega to broach the subject, could she?
Ji Yu sighed and repeated, “Mumu, I marked you.”
Mu Li nodded. “Mm.”
Ji Yu ventured carefully, “I know our marriage wasn’t your choice, and I broke my initial promise to you.”
Mu Li should have been angry, but for some reason, she didn’t blame Ji Yu at all. She shook her head. “It’s fine. The inhibitor failed—you were just helping me.”
Seeing that Mu Li didn’t seem to hold it against her, Ji Yu pressed her advantage. “I marked you. I should take responsibility.”
She took Mu Li’s hand. “I did it without your consent. You should blame me, but… but I…”
Mu Li looked at the woman before her and couldn’t help but shake her head in amusement. How could she blame Ji Yu? For standing up for her so fiercely at the Ji family estate, humiliating the Mu family?
For guiding her in combat and mecha with such dedication, just so she could choose the major she wanted?
For taking time out of her busy schedule to become an instructor at First Military Academy just for her competition?
For spending funds to donate mechas after defending her in the principal’s office?
Or for exposing their relationship and giving her a temporary mark when her heat inhibitor failed?
…
Memories of their time together flashed rapidly through Mu Li’s mind, finally settling on Ji Yu’s nervous expression. After a moment’s thought, Mu Li said, “We were already married. This time, you were just helping me.”
Ji Yu froze for a second before snapping back to reality, her eyes widening in delight. “You don’t blame me? Mumu, you have no idea how scared I was—I thought you’d never speak to me again.”
Mu Li couldn’t help but laugh at Ji Yu’s reaction. Normally, this was someone who wielded immense power and could have anything she wanted. So why was she so insecure when it came to her?
Ji Yu thought for a moment, then added with a serious expression, “If you encounter this kind of situation again in the future, you can’t go to anyone else. I’m always available to give you a mark.”
Hearing this, Mu Li suddenly had the urge to pry open Ji Yu’s head to see what was inside. So Ji Yu had automatically classified herself as some kind of tool?
Mu Li turned away and muttered sullenly, “I’m going to rest now.”
