Saving the Pitiful Villain (GL) - Chapter 3
In just a brief moment, Yun Wu turned her head and walked past.
It was as if she was simply passing by.
No one saw that the instant Yun Wu turned her back, she lowered her gaze, concealing the deep, cold mockery and hatred in her eyes.
A license plate starting with A63, a Jiang family car.
Who was sitting inside was self-evident. Yun Wu curled her lips into a mocking curve, her expression unchanged.
Heaven had given her a chance to live again. In this life, she would make everyone who had trampled on her pay the price, one by one.
Jiang Shangxue watched Yun Wu’s retreating back and came back to her senses. Remembering that Yun Wu had only been found three months ago, she certainly wouldn’t recognize the Yun family’s car. She then instructed, “Follow Miss Yun from a distance for now, don’t startle her.”
The driver nodded in agreement, secretly sighing. Was Madam coming up with a new trick to humiliate Miss Yun?
The car passed through two main roads and arrived at an entertainment street called Anru Alley. Bars, tea houses, pool halls, theaters… everything was available. Many elegantly dressed young people moved about in groups of three or five.
Jiang Shangxue watched from afar as Yun Wu entered a bar called “Magpie Bridge.” Her expression was stunned. The book had stated that Yun Wu would earn her living expenses by tutoring after school; a bar was never mentioned.
Due to her strict, old-fashioned upbringing, Jiang Shangxue had almost no entertainment in her life. Places like bars were considered by her elders as places where one lost one’s ambition, and she had nothing to do with them.
Perhaps it was her own prejudice.
Jiang Shangxue looked at the driver in the front seat.
Receiving her gaze, the driver understood, got out of the car, and walked towards the bar Yun Wu had entered.
But soon, the driver returned, blushing.
“Madam, it’s not that I wasn’t willing to go in and inquire, but the bar was full of women, and they wouldn’t let a man like me in.”
“All women?”
“Yes.”
It’s a lesbian bar then, Jiang Shangxue lowered her gaze. She thought for a moment, took her bag, and got out of the car.
“You wait here, I’ll go in myself and see.”
Upon entering, there was an artistic promenade. Underfoot was transparent glass, beneath which bloomed blue lotus flowers, with glimpses of valuable koi fish swimming.
Jiang Shangxue followed the waiter’s guidance into the elevator. With a ‘ding,’ the entire bar scene unfolded before Jiang Shangxue’s eyes.
The bar was divided into two floors. The overall decor was elegant, and the cool blue tones made the soothing music feel extremely ambiguous. The second floor was suspended within the inner wall, with a decorative coated glass on the outer side, allowing one to overlook the first-floor scene from within, but not visible from the outside.
The waiter handed Jiang Shangxue a prepared card. “Miss Jiang, the second floor has quieter private rooms. If you need anything…”
Before the waiter could finish, Jiang Shangxue went upstairs to the second floor. Before leaving, the waiter deliberately left a very suggestive remark.
“Miss Jiang, if you have any other physical needs, you can contact me at any time for assistance.”
It sounded quite improper.
Jiang Shangxue sat on the sofa in the private room, her gaze searching among the intertwining light and shadows on the first floor. All she saw were beautiful women: mature and radiant, intellectual and elegant, and young and naive. Jiang Shangxue’s gaze lingered for a few seconds on the younger faces before moving on.
She didn’t find Yun Wu.
Picking up the expensive champagne on the table and swirling it, Jiang Shangxue’s eyes were deep, as if the shimmering lights intertwined on her fair fingertips through the liquor. No one knew what she was thinking.
Tang Qingshui was sitting behind the bar. The waiter who had just served Jiang Shangxue stood beside her.
Tang Qingshui asked, “Miss Jiang came alone? And didn’t call anyone over?”
The waiter replied, “Boss, no.”
Thinking for a moment, the waiter added, “She looks like someone who’s here for the first time.”
Tang Qingshui smiled without speaking, a hint of the astonishment she felt when she first saw Jiang Shangxue still lingering in her eyes. No one here was ugly, but a woman like Jiang Shangxue, exuding gentleness and nobility from her very core, was rare.
That was the preciousness that only true aristocratic families could cultivate.
Especially with the anticipation of a forbidden feeling, as she might already be a wife or a mother.
Everything suited Tang Qingshui’s taste. Her close friend, seeing her show an amused smile, asked gossipy, “Tang, who have you set your sights on this time? It wouldn’t be the new little sister, would it?”
As she spoke, Tang’s friend glanced at Yun Wu, who had just changed into her uniform and walked in.
The staff uniforms at Magpie Bridge weren’t revealing at all; in fact, they were quite modest. However, every detail concealed a subtle trick. Yun Wu’s budding figure was subtly outlined beneath the uniform.
What couldn’t be seen, what couldn’t be obtained, was the most captivating.
Tang Qingshui followed her friend’s gaze and said disinterestedly, “Not my type.”
“But that’s Zhao Rongrong’s favorite type. She looks so delicate. Aren’t you afraid Zhao Rongrong will play her to death?”
“You need to be careful with your words. This is a legitimate business. I never engage in illegal transactions. As for consensual matters between guests, I can’t control that.”
The two exchanged a smile and said no more.
Zhao Rongrong was a well-known scion in the East Villa District. Relying on her family’s wealth and power, she enjoyed playing with innocent young girls who hadn’t left school yet, seeking out anything stimulating, like S/M, discipline, and other heavy-handed acts.
Seeing Yun Wu, Zhao Rongrong’s eyes immediately lit up. As Yun Wu poured drinks, she began to make physical advances.
The girl trembled slightly under her palm. Her clear, black-and-white eyes showed an unwillingness to yield as she tried to pull away, looking utterly pitiful. This greatly satisfied Zhao Rongrong’s sadistic pleasure.
Her mind completely captivated by the person in front of her, Zhao Rongrong finished explaining her plan to acquire the land in Beifeng District, then picked up a drink and splashed it on Yun Wu’s chest.
The clothes instantly became largely soaked, and the girl’s innocent, budding body curves were revealed.
The voice recorder hidden under her clothes had already captured what she wanted. Yun Wu feigned panic and helplessness, retreating, but Zhao Rongrong was completely unconcerned. She strode forward, pushed Yun Wu onto the sofa, and impatiently began unbuttoning her clothes.
In a flash, the girl’s slender white waist was exposed, exceptionally dazzling in the dim light.
Zhao Rongrong’s strength was considerable. Yun Wu, completely suppressed, felt a bit annoyed at this moment. She hadn’t expected Zhao Rongrong to be so brazen, disregarding even the setting.
Everyone around was coldly watching the farce unfold; no one came forward to help her.
Both ridiculous and tragic, feeling the coldness on her chest, Yun Wu reached for the wine bottle on the table.
Just as Yun Wu was about to close her eyes and exert force, the weight on her suddenly lightened. A warm jacket wrapped tightly around her, emitting a pleasant, faint scent.
The scent was subtle, like a gentle floral fragrance.
Yun Wu’s eyes were red but she didn’t shed a single tear. Jiang Shangxue’s gaze swept past her, meeting Zhao Rongrong’s exasperated eyes.
“Who are you, daring to snatch someone from me?”
Jiang Shangxue ignored her and instead looked at Tang Qingshui, who was standing behind the bar. “President Tang, a pleasure.”
Tang Qingshui, president of Sanshui Group, and the boss behind Magpie Bridge.
Tang Qingshui slowly walked over, stood beside Jiang Shangxue, and showed a harmless smile, “Miss Jiang, could it be that you’re also interested in the new little sister?”
This stance, to others, clearly indicated that she was helping Jiang Shangxue.
Jiang Shangxue still smiled gently, “I’m just here to find a disobedient junior from my family.”
“Really? I don’t believe it,” Tang Qingshui didn’t relent.
Jiang Shangxue suddenly leaned in, turning her head to Tang Qingshui’s ear, in an intimate posture.
Others who saw this felt that the two must have known each other for a long time, and Zhao Rongrong had hit a brick wall this time.
“President Tang, I heard that Mr. Wang put in a lot of effort for the new land you acquired in the Beifeng development project. No, it should be said, the person behind Mr. Wang.”
The voice was very low, only audible to the two of them. Tang Qingshui’s smile instantly faded.
Tang Qingshui was the mistress of a powerful and influential person in Province A.
While it was an open secret that business and politics were intertwined, few knew about Tang Qingshui’s relationship with that person.
Her smile tinged with caution, Tang Qingshui’s attitude immediately softened. “Miss Jiang, how could I not give you the person you want?”
It seemed like a peaceful scene, but sparks were flying beneath the surface.
The moment she clearly saw Jiang Shangxue, Yun Wu’s eyes shifted, and her fingers slowly tightened into a fist.
She was visibly stunned for a few seconds, and the indifferent expression on her face momentarily faltered.
Zhao Rongrong was so angry her kidneys hurt, her features contorted, looking exactly like a defeated rooster.
She still wanted to say something, but Tang Qingshui quickly stopped her. They hadn’t figured out Miss Jiang’s identity yet and couldn’t afford to offend her rashly.
“In that case, thank you, President Tang. I’ll take my disobedient junior home now.”
Jiang Shangxue looked down at Yun Wu. She was slightly looking up, her hand tightly gripping the jacket Jiang Shangxue had draped over her.
“Let’s go,” Jiang Shangxue said calmly.
Just as the two were about to leave, the driver, Xiao Wang, burst in menacingly, holding a baseball bat he’d acquired from who knows where.
He looked at the scene in the bar, made eye contact with everyone, and wore a bewildered expression. Seeing his Madam safe and sound, he checked his message box again, confirming he hadn’t misread.
[Jiang Shangxue: Have you ever hit a woman?]
[Xiao Wang: What kind of talk is that? Of course not.]
[Jiang Shangxue: Are you confident you can hit a group of women?]
[Xiao Wang: Did something happen to you?]
[Jiang Shangxue: If I’m not out in half an hour, call the police.]
Xiao Wang, waiting in the car, couldn’t wait any longer. After telling his brother to call the police if needed, he rushed in.
But the scene before him was clearly… peaceful.
Xiao Wang: ???
With a head full of question marks, Xiao Wang watched Jiang Shangxue calmly enter the elevator and followed her in. No one spoke a word, and they all walked out quietly.
“Madam, I’ll go get the car,” sensing the awkward atmosphere, Xiao Wang smartly made his escape.
Yun Wu followed Jiang Shangxue to the street light. The girl’s dark pupils seemed to gleam in the light and shadow. She bit her lip tightly, a layer of dampness on her thick eyelashes.
If it weren’t for her slightly reddened nose tip and noticeably reddened eye sockets, no one would have known she had been secretly crying.
The summer wind, even at night, carried a hint of dryness.
Jiang Shangxue recalled the book’s description of Yun Wu during this period: reclusive, introverted, and taciturn.
“Are you out of living expenses?” Jiang Shangxue asked her, her voice gentle but firm.
Her lips were pale from biting, Yun Wu remained silent.
The Yun family hadn’t cared for her at all after sending her to Dongshu Middle School. What was Jiang Shangxue doing now? Crying crocodile tears.
Inadvertently glancing at the Buddhist beads on Jiang Shangxue’s wrist, Yun Wu felt it was even more ironic.
Yun Wu didn’t answer, and Jiang Shangxue wasn’t annoyed.
She turned her head, not forcing Yun Wu to answer, but instead chose to gently persuade, “You’re at an age where you should be focusing on your studies. Don’t come here again.”
Jiang Shangxue’s nonchalant demeanor made it seem as if she had no memory of her past actions.
For a moment, Yun Wu wanted to rush forward and tear off the hypocritical, nauseating mask of the woman in front of her.
Silently observing Jiang Shangxue, whose appearance, attitude, and demeanor were all highly unusual, Yun Wu suddenly seemed to realize something.
With a hidden malice, she said, “Thank you. What should I call you?”
The girl’s pupils were dark, and she stood perfectly straight, her features and expression fully revealed under the street lamp.
Her face was overly pale, looking somewhat unfamiliar and distant, but without hatred.
A thought popped into Jiang Shangxue’s mind. She looked at Yun Wu with a complex expression.
Could it be that she didn’t recognize her?
After a long time, when Yun Wu’s feet began to stiffen from standing, Jiang Shangxue’s gentle voice reached her ears.
“My surname is Jiang. You can call me Auntie Jiang. I live in the Dongshu community, not far from here.”
Author’s Note:
Jiang: Ahhh, my daughter doesn’t recognize me, doesn’t remember the bad things I did! Motherly love and filial piety, let’s get this going!
