Chapter 46 – I’m So Happy, Sheng Sheng
Chen Sheng brought his senior back to the apartment in the blink of an eye.
To be honest, Chen Sheng felt a deep bitterness in his heart. It seemed that ever since he became something inhuman, at least moving around had become much more convenient.
He supported his senior and asked, “Senior, where is that tool? Just tell me—I’ll go get it.”
His senior replied, “In the drawer of the nightstand next to the bed.”
“Okay.”
Chen Sheng first helped his senior sit down on the sofa. Then, in an instant, he disappeared into the bedroom. He walked up to the nightstand, opened the drawer, and found a small box inside.
There was nothing else.
Is this the one?
Chen Sheng picked up the box with a puzzled expression. Upon opening it, he saw a beautifully crafted silver ring—or rather, a band. He wasn’t sure how it was supposed to be used. It looked more like an accessory than a tool.
Although he was confused about how such an item was supposed to restrain him, he still brought the box back to the living room and stood beside his senior.
He handed it over. “Is this it, Senior?”
His senior took the box, pulled out the silver band, and said, “Sheng Sheng, come here. Sit next to me.”
Chen Sheng obediently sat down. He didn’t even realize how compliant he was being.
Maybe it was because his whole mind was focused on the hope of finding a way to stop his rampages. He sat beside his senior and then heard him say, “Sheng Sheng, lift your leg.”
Again, Chen Sheng obediently lifted his leg.
Only when he saw his senior open the silver band and clasp it around his ankle did he suddenly react. He quickly tried to pull his leg back—but it was already too late. The band had snapped shut around his ankle.
Chen Sheng didn’t feel anything physically—his body was cold and devoid of temperature.
Still, when he glanced at the silver ring on his ankle, he couldn’t shake the strange discomfort in his heart. This method of using the tool felt… indescribably weird.
He fidgeted, uneasy, and couldn’t help but ask, “Senior… this ring… this tool… does it really work to control me when I lose control?”
He hadn’t expected his senior to answer plainly:
“No, it doesn’t.”
Chen Sheng immediately grew anxious.
Then why use it at all?!
He reached down to remove it, but his senior quickly grabbed his hand. The warmth of that touch was especially noticeable to someone like Chen Sheng.
As soon as he felt that warmth, his anxiety seemed to melt away like a wave being calmed.
Then, he heard his senior say, “Sheng Sheng, the tool is just an aid. It can only suppress part of the rampage. What you really need is… human flesh and bl00d. That’s the only real way to stop the madness. But I know you wouldn’t want to do that. Still, I don’t want anything bad to happen to you either. If you go too long without consuming bl00d and flesh, your soul will… fade. You’ll dissipate—cease to exist. So you need it. Even if you don’t want to stay and protect me, as your lover—as your husband—it’s only right that I provide you with some bl00d…”
Chen Sheng was stunned by the word “husband.” The moment that word left his senior’s mouth, the black mist swirling around him seemed to shift and whirl chaotically.
Now that he wasn’t human anymore, he probably couldn’t even blush—but he certainly must have looked even more frightening.
And yet, he looked at his senior’s pale, almost bloodless face—so pale it made even his own ghostly skin tone look healthy in comparison.
Even if his senior recovered physically, he couldn’t afford to keep losing bl00d like this. At this rate, Chen Sheng didn’t know how long his current condition would last, and his senior’s health would only continue to deteriorate.
On top of that, the creature that had marked his senior… what if it attacked while his senior was weak? Chen Sheng didn’t have the power to defeat it.
But what confused him the most was—why did that thing run away when he lost control?
Chen Sheng didn’t believe that his berserk self was strong enough to scare it off. Then… did it want to watch him lose control and hurt his senior?
And when he finally snapped back to his senses, it wanted him to see what he had done?
The more he thought about it, the more convinced—and angry—he became.
That thing wasn’t just terrifying. It was also cunning and despicable.
Fortunately, he hadn’t hurt his senior. He’d regained his senses in time.
And now, with this “tool” to restrain his rampages, he had some hope.
But still, Chen Sheng didn’t want to feed on his senior. Yet aside from that, was there really no other way?
He thought back to the supernatural novels he used to read. In those stories, there were always monsters who disguised themselves as humans… or seductive spirits that lured people into certain acts to drain their energy and gain power…
No. That was about stealing people’s life force. That was still harming others.
“Sheng Sheng, what are you thinking about?”
“Nothing. It’s nothing.”
Chen Sheng didn’t want to say it. It was too embarrassing.
But for some reason… he ended up obediently blurting out every single detail of what he’d just been thinking—word for word, without leaving anything out.
As soon as he finished, he realized what he had done and wished he could dig a hole in the floor and disappear. But then he remembered—he wasn’t human anymore.
Still, he wanted to run away in that moment.
Too bad… his senior had already grabbed his hand tightly, his eyes focused intently on him.
Even though Chen Sheng avoided his gaze, he could feel it. His enhanced senses made the weight of that stare even stronger.
His senior looked at him seriously and said, “Sheng Sheng, actually… what you’re thinking might not be a bad idea. We could try it.”
Chen Sheng instantly shook his head. “No! Senior, it’s too dangerous. We can’t just try something like that.”
But his senior leaned in and said, “Of course not now. We’ll wait until I’ve recovered. I’ll be fine soon—Sheng Sheng, I’m not an ordinary person. I recover quickly.
Once I’m better, we can try it. Okay?
I know you’re worried about my health. You don’t want to drink my bl00d. But now that we have a possible new solution, how will we know unless we try?
Don’t worry, Sheng Sheng. If something feels off, I’ll stop immediately.”
His senior’s words seemed to carry some kind of enchantment. Compared to Chen Sheng, he seemed more like the one capable of seducing and bewitching—except it wasn’t a human heart he was bewitching now. It was the heart of something inhuman.
Chen Sheng thought:
Maybe Senior really isn’t ordinary. Even as a human, his abilities are way beyond mine—even inhuman as I am now.
This idea might be worth a try… but still…
Chen Sheng looked down at his body and touched his hand.
He couldn’t feel much. His senior’s touch—normal body temperature for a human—felt hot to him. So warm.
That alone told him his own body no longer had any warmth. Like a corpse. Maybe even colder—like something kept in an ice cellar, bone-deep and piercing.
To use a body like this… and do that with his senior…
Chen Sheng felt sick to his stomach. Deeply uncomfortable. Disgusted. Even if his senior didn’t mind, he couldn’t stand himself like this.
As he was lost in thought, he heard his senior—as if he could read his mind—say:
“Sheng Sheng, don’t worry. I’ve never experienced it before… I want to experience it with this version of you. And if we do… wouldn’t that count as your first time too? That means I get to have two of your firsts. I’m so happy, Sheng Sheng.”
