Chapter 47 – The Restraining Band for the Black Mist
After hearing what his senior just said, Chen Sheng didn’t even know how to feel anymore.
Right now, all he could think was—Senior, you’re kind of a pervert.
How could he say something like that so casually, without blushing or skipping a beat? Meanwhile, Chen Sheng—who wasn’t even human anymore—actually shivered from head to toe when he heard it.
But… this wasn’t the first time his senior had said something like that.
In the days that followed,
Chen Sheng stayed by his senior’s side constantly, taking care of him. He didn’t need sleep, didn’t need to bathe, didn’t need to use the restroom… And under his meticulous care, his senior’s body had gradually recovered.
Which meant—it was time to try that method.
Although Chen Sheng had spent the past few days mentally preparing himself, trying to accept it, once his senior was fully recovered, the very first thing he did was press Chen Sheng down beneath him.
Chen Sheng could feel the warmth of that body close to his own—so comforting, so human. A warmth he would never possess again.
As these thoughts flashed through his mind, he caught the intoxicating scent again. It was coming from his senior’s body, flooding out endlessly.
The aroma overwhelmed him. The black mist that had somewhat subsided around him suddenly surged back to life, billowing violently. Chen Sheng looked on in alarm as the mist rushed toward his senior.
But then—before it could reach him—it abruptly scattered, like it was afraid, retreating swiftly back onto Chen Sheng’s own body.
Still, Chen Sheng couldn’t relax. His body was screaming again, driven by instinct, craving flesh and bl00d with unbearable hunger.
His pupils gradually turned pitch black. Chen Sheng could feel his sanity slipping away once more.
He wanted to flee—right away—but then remembered the silver ring around his ankle. That should keep him from hurting his senior. Still, in his current state, he wasn’t sure he could go through with this anymore.
Barely hanging onto his last thread of reason, he gasped, “Senior, I can’t hold on much longer… let’s stop—”
Before he could finish, the rich, sweet scent assaulted him again, pouring into his body. His instincts were howling.
Chen Sheng inhaled greedily, pupils now fully black, like two obsidian beads embedded in his eye sockets.
He had become a primal beast. His nose locked onto the scent’s source. His hands shifted instantly into sharp claws. As soon as he located his prey, he lunged forward with savage hunger, ready to kill in one blow—rip it apart and devour it.
But—when his claws struck—there was no sound of flesh tearing. No sweet, metallic tang of bl00d in the air.
Chen Sheng grew furious.
He was overwhelmed with rage, wild and violent, ready to destroy everything in sight—until suddenly, a voice broke through: “Sheng Sheng, undress.”
The instant he heard that voice, all his violent, frenzied urges evaporated like mist.
His body, almost robotically, began removing his clothes. Once stripped, there was no shame, no hesitation—this was just a shell now, a discarded husk.
After he undressed, he lay down quietly on the bed—oddly docile, despite the fact that moments ago, he had been ready to slaughter this prey and feast on it.
He didn’t know what the prey was going to do.
That was Chen Sheng’s perspective, in his mindless, feral state.
From Gu Zhen’s side—He looked at Sheng Sheng, whose eyes were pitch-black, mind completely lost. Unhurriedly, he slit his own arm. Bl00d poured out, and he saw the desire flickering in those dark eyes.
As Sheng Sheng grew restless, ready to pounce at the scent—So disobedient.
“Sheng Sheng. Don’t move.”
Just those few words, and the once-feral Sheng Sheng immediately calmed and lay still.
Seeing this obedience, Gu Zhen’s gaze turned a little darker. He carefully dripped the bl00d across his body, letting none go to waste.
Once done, he said softly, “Sheng Sheng, you can.”
Upon hearing those words, Chen Sheng—still in his bestial state—didn’t know why, but he followed the prey’s command without question. Since the prey said “you can,” he didn’t hesitate.
He pounced, following the trail of that sweet aroma… until…
Chen Sheng paused in confusion.
What is this thing? Is it edible?
It smelled sweet, after all.
He certainly wasn’t going to let it go. But just as he was about to enjoy it—he was forcefully shoved down…
…[Fade to black]
—
When Chen Sheng regained consciousness—awareness, senses, and all—he didn’t actually feel much physically. But just one look at the chaotic mess covering the bed and floor told him exactly what had happened.
So… he and Senior had really…
But was his senior okay?
Chen Sheng didn’t see him in the bedroom, and his heart jumped. He hastily reached out with his senses—and found his senior in the living room, busying himself with something.
In a flash, he appeared in the living room.
He saw his senior holding a restraint band in his hands. He recognized it—the band.
Is he… making another one?
It couldn’t be for him, could it? After all, the old one didn’t work on him anymore.
Just as that thought passed through his mind, his senior turned and said,
“Sheng Sheng, I made this one for you. It’s different from the last one. This band can suppress the black mist on your body.
That way, you won’t be tormented by it anymore.”
As he spoke, he handed the band over.
Chen Sheng looked at it. At first, he wanted to refuse. But when he heard that this one could suppress the black mist that clung to him day and night, he was overwhelmed with joy.
He immediately accepted the band with excitement and thanked his senior again and again.
He was so happy that he didn’t even bother to inspect it—he just swiftly clasped it around his neck.
And the moment it snapped into place, he could feel it.
The raging black mist around him surged toward the band, drawn to it, being sucked inside as if pulled by an invisible force.
And even as the black mist disappeared, he felt no discomfort. The band on his neck felt completely normal. He gently touched it—it felt like nothing at all.
Honestly, it looked just like any ordinary choker.
Chen Sheng looked down at his hands. With the black mist gone, he could finally see them clearly for the first time in ages. No more hazy distortion.
Though now, they looked frighteningly pale.
But even so, he was content. Ecstatic.
In a flash, he darted into the bathroom.
He stared at the mirror—and the face that looked back at him wasn’t all that different from before. Just paler.
Even if I walk down the street now, I won’t scare people anymore.
This is great.
Even if he couldn’t become human again, as long as he could live a somewhat normal life—not be discovered—that was already more than enough.
With that thought, he reappeared in the living room.
And threw his arms around his senior in a tight hug.
“Senior, thank you. I’ll definitely repay you. I’ll protect you no matter what.”
His senior responded,
“Sheng Sheng, as long as you never leave me, that’s enough for me.”
Chen Sheng didn’t understand why his senior was always afraid he would leave. Last time, he left because he was afraid of hurting him.
But things were different now.
He wasn’t going to leave again—no matter what.
“Don’t worry, Senior. I’ll never leave you again,” Chen Sheng said, holding him tightly, serious and firm.
“Sheng Sheng, remember what you just said.”
“I’ll never forget, Senior.”

The day Zhang Jun left the academy, he immediately began searching for that person.
There was very little information about him—just a general location. But there were many residents in that area.
Still, Zhang Jun didn’t give up. For Chen Sheng’s sake, he kept searching, investigating, sneaking around like a creepy stalker, secretly watching every single resident.
Eventually, persistence paid off.
A man who looked like a celebrity finally entered Zhang Jun’s field of vision.
Truthfully, Zhang Jun had noticed him from the start—attractive faces always stood out in a crowd.
But after watching him for a few days and seeing his seemingly normal, even flirtatious, daily behavior, Zhang Jun had initially felt disappointed.
Such a waste of a good face, he had thought.
But when he finished checking every other resident and was sure that the man he sought had to be in this building, he returned to observing that one again—just in case.
And that’s when he started to notice… this man was not ordinary.
