Scarred Hearts — A Girls' Love Tale - Chapter 35
“Qinghan?” Yan Shuangfei woke up first and saw Luo Qinghan sleeping next to her. She slowly sat up, carefully leaned over, and poked her gently. When Luo Qinghan didn’t respond, she felt a bit disappointed. Not daring to call out loudly, she hugged Luo Qinghan’s arm and buried her face in her soft chest, rubbing around like a spoiled child.
“Stop messing around,” Luo Qinghan mumbled, placing her hand gently on the back of Yan Shuangfei’s head. Her eyes slowly opened, still filled with lingering sleepiness.
“You’re awake?” Yan Shuangfei asked excitedly. For her, this was the first time she woke up before Luo Qinghan. Looking at her closed eyes earlier and hearing her calm breathing made her inexplicably happy.
“Mm.” Luo Qinghan smiled and pulled Yan Shuangfei back into her arms, closing her eyes again to catch a little more sleep. Yan Shuangfei rested her head on Luo Qinghan’s soft chest, clearly hearing the steady rhythm of her heartbeat. Her own breath grew uneven, her heart strangely flustered. She didn’t know what was happening to her and nervously tugged at the hem of Luo Qinghan’s clothes.
Her heartbeat was out of sync, and a strange irritation welled up inside her. So she sat up again and boldly went to tease Luo Qinghan.
“There’s nothing great about sleeping! Open your eyes and look at me!” she demanded, her tone childish but full of expectation. She poked Luo Qinghan all over. Luo Qinghan finally couldn’t pretend to sleep anymore. She grabbed the hand that was causing trouble and opened her eyes, filled with endless tenderness.
Yan Shuangfei felt a little flustered under her gaze and stared back blankly before giving a silly smile.
Luo Qinghan gave her a quick peck on the lips, like a dragonfly touching water, then got up to dress.
Once out of bed, Yan Shuangfei was still lying there, staring dreamily at Luo Qinghan. Puzzled, Luo Qinghan raised her voice, “Weren’t you the one who said you wanted to get up? Why are you still in bed?”
Yan Shuangfei pointed to her lips and pleaded, “One more kiss!”
Luo Qinghan: “…”
There was no winning against this stubborn girl. Luo Qinghan gave in, “Go wash up properly first, then we’ll talk.”
“Okay!” Yan Shuangfei’s pitiful expression disappeared in a flash. She quickly got dressed and rushed into the bathroom.
“This kid…” Luo Qinghan gave a helpless smile. Right now, Shuang’er was practically just a big child emotionally.
“Qinghan, I’m done!” Yan Shuangfei quickly reported back. “Can I get my kiss now?”
Luo Qinghan leaned in and gave her a quick peck on her slightly parted lips. But Shuangfei wasn’t satisfied. “No! I want more!”
Without waiting for a reply, she hugged Luo Qinghan tightly and kissed her again.
The heat inside her mouth was almost shocking. Luo Qinghan could immediately feel the intensity of Shuangfei’s passion—hot and overwhelming.
“Mmm…” A soft sound escaped from between their lips. Luo Qinghan wrapped her arms around Shuangfei, pressing their bodies closer together. She explored every corner of Shuangfei’s mouth, swirling around that warm little pool. The wet heat of their tongues brought a rush of sensation, their ragged breaths filling the air between them. Their cheeks flushed with the warmth of their desire.
Eventually, they slowly parted. Yan Shuangfei caught her breath and let out a satisfied sigh, looking like a lazy, contented cat.
Then Luo Qinghan seemed to remember something. She turned to Shuangfei and said, “We still need to take care of the wound on your hand. We didn’t treat it properly last night, just did a quick fix. I’ll call the doctor to come check it again.”
Just a simple sentence, but enough to drain the color from Yan Shuangfei’s face. Her happiness from earlier was instantly replaced with dread.
“Can we not do that?” she asked, trying to bargain. After all, whether you flinch or not, a cut is still a cut—might as well try one last time to avoid it.
“No,” Luo Qinghan replied firmly without hesitation, not leaving any room for discussion.
Even someone as slow as Yan Shuangfei could tell she meant it. Her head drooped in disappointment. Luo Qinghan saw her like this and, once again, couldn’t help but soften. She leaned over and gently comforted her.
Yan Shuangfei stayed silent, not responding. Only when the doctor—whose face was always cold and serious—entered the room did panic show in her eyes. Her small hand gripped Luo Qinghan’s tightly, her palm already damp with sweat.
“Don’t be nervous. It won’t hurt much,” Luo Qinghan said softly, sensing her fear. She pulled Yan Shuangfei into her embrace. “Don’t look. Just close your eyes. It’ll be over soon.”
Yan Shuangfei obediently did as she was told. The doctor nodded at Luo Qinghan, who signaled with her eyes that they were ready. Only then did the doctor take out a cotton swab soaked in disinfectant and approach Yan Shuangfei’s reluctantly offered hand.
Even though her eyes were closed, the cold sting of the antiseptic and the fear of the unknown made her flinch slightly.
“Don’t be afraid,” Luo Qinghan said gently, clearly feeling how tense Shuangfei was in her arms.
“I’m not… afraid,” Yan Shuangfei muttered stubbornly. Even as the doctor started treating the wound and the pain started creeping in, she clenched her teeth, determined not to look weak.
“You’re so brave,” Luo Qinghan praised. Of course, she understood how hard Shuangfei was trying to endure. Even a small word of encouragement could help her hold on longer.
By the time Yan Shuangfei lifted her head, cold sweat had gathered on her forehead. Luo Qinghan took a wet wipe and carefully cleaned her up.
“Qinghan?” Yan Shuangfei called tentatively.
“Mm?” Luo Qinghan didn’t stop what she was doing.
“Qinghan… Qinghan… Qinghan…” Yan Shuangfei kept repeating her name like a little chant.
Luo Qinghan smiled and gently patted the stiff bristles on Shuangfei’s head.
“It’s your fault,” Shuangfei said in a pouty tone. “If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have had to suffer like that.”
“Oh? Are you blaming me now?”
“Yes, I am!” Shuangfei turned her head with a righteous look. “You didn’t treat me well enough, or we would’ve been together earlier! You’re a bad person—you just like bullying me!”
But even as she said that, she threw her arms around Luo Qinghan and hugged her tightly, locking her in a warm embrace.
