Scarred Hearts — A Girls' Love Tale - Chapter 63
“This is Lin Chenyu,” Yan Shaoqiu said with a smile as he held a woman’s hand and introduced her to Yan Shuangfei.
The woman looked a bit reserved. Yan Shuangfei narrowed her eyes slightly and casually glanced at Lin Chenyu. Their eyes met, and Lin Chenyu suddenly flinched for no reason and instinctively gave Yan Shuangfei a small smile. Yan Shuangfei seemed thoughtful, nodded slightly, but didn’t say anything.
Yan Shaoqiu explained to Yan Shuangfei, “She’s already pregnant with my child. Now that we’re back from Africa, I want to spend more time with her.”
The meaning behind Yan Shaoqiu’s words was clear—he wanted Lin Chenyu to officially join the Yan family and also wanted to fully step away from all these family disputes afterward.
Yan Shuangfei stayed silent. Lin Chenyu noticed Yan Shaoqiu’s hand nervously resting on her slightly swollen belly, showing the pregnancy was at an advanced stage. Yan Shaoqiu rarely acted so cautiously toward Yan Shuangfei; his eyes flickered anxiously as he watched her expression. Right now, Yan Shuangfei was still the head of the Yan family. If she didn’t accept Lin Chenyu, Lin Chenyu would never enter the Yan family, and the child she carried wouldn’t receive the family’s protection or support.
Yan Shuangfei gave a faint nod and said lightly to Lin Chenyu, “Pick a date and move into Shaoqiu’s place.”
Yan Shaoqiu smiled happily. This was almost certain to happen. He had only worried that letting Yan Shuangfei meet Lin Chenyu so suddenly might make her suspicious, insisting on verifying Lin Chenyu’s identity before allowing the marriage.
“That puts my mind at ease,” Yan Shaoqiu said, clapping Yan Shuangfei on the back with brotherly warmth. “I’ll go prepare everything now, then we’ll meet up and leave.”
“Bring Yan Yudie with you,” Yan Shuangfei ordered. “You two come together.”
Yan Shaoqiu was surprised for a moment but then agreed, “Her skills are really impressive.”
“And have her move out of that place,” Yan Shuangfei added. “Don’t let people think the Yan family is so poor now. Didn’t she already see through all that? Why cling to it?” She frowned slightly, her delicate brows shining faintly green in the sunlight. “She’s been running that nightlife business for so long; she should understand what kind of women work there. Even if some have true feelings, it’s normal to give up under pressure.”
Yan Shaoqiu lowered his eyes quietly. He had noticed Yan Yudie’s recent recklessness but couldn’t persuade her, so he just watched her casually switch from one bed partner to another.
“Shuang’er,” Luo Qinghan called softly. She hadn’t wanted to interrupt Yan Shuangfei’s discussion earlier and only entered after Yan Shaoqiu left with Lin Chenyu. She saw Yan Shuangfei standing there, lost in thought, her expression a little troubled, which made Luo Qinghan uneasy.
“Hm?” Yan Shuangfei came back to herself, holding Luo Qinghan’s warm hand. They left the study and returned to the bedroom, where Yan Shuangfei sat against the wall.
Luo Qinghan looked into Yan Shuangfei’s calm eyes, filled with love that melted away all worries. Feeling a little embarrassed for being so dreamy, she blushed and asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Yan Shuangfei said softly. “I’m just glad I’ve never thought about giving up.”
“You dare?” Luo Qinghan teased, reaching out to pinch Yan Shuangfei’s cheek. The fair cheek quickly flushed red, and Luo Qinghan hurriedly let go.
“I don’t dare,” Yan Shuangfei replied without minding Luo Qinghan’s playful teasing. “No matter what mistake I make, as long as you punish me, it’s fine.”
Luo Qinghan stopped and said nothing. Then she pulled Yan Shuangfei into her arms, kissed her ear, and whispered, “So now you still resent me for being so harsh?”
Yan Shuangfei laughed from the ticklish feeling. The tense atmosphere vanished. Luo Qinghan’s breath made her ear itch, causing her whole body to tremble.
“Stop laughing!” Luo Qinghan tapped her head. “Seriously now?”
“No resentment!” Yan Shuangfei shouted. Luo Qinghan grabbed the flesh on her waist, making her feel thrilled. She gasped, trying to escape but afraid sudden moves might hurt Luo Qinghan. So she half-cried, half-laughed, begging for mercy.
Luo Qinghan found her unexpectedly amusing and stopped. Yan Shuangfei nestled in her arms, still catching her breath.
Yan Shuangfei gave Luo Qinghan a pitiful look. Luo Qinghan looked back and said, “That’s what you’re afraid of?”
“I’d rather you whip me,” Yan Shuangfei said dramatically. “At least that would feel better.”
Luo Qinghan was speechless.
Yan Shaoqiu picked a few people and packed all the essentials. Yan Yudie wore a wide-brimmed sunhat and light clothes, her impressive figure fully exposed for everyone to see. Yan Shuangfei noticed Yan Yudie’s appearance and instinctively looked down at herself, but her gaze landed on her own feet instead.
Oh, what am I even paying attention to? Yan Shuangfei slapped her forehead. This trip has to be low-key! They were traveling on commercial flights, but Yan Yudie? She was all dressed up! Didn’t she see that the security guard almost buried his head in her chest when she entered? Big b00bs aren’t special—Luo Qinghan’s are big too, and feel even better.
“Ahem.” Luo Qinghan looked coldly at Yan Shuangfei. Knowing her so well, she could guess exactly what Yan Shuangfei was thinking just from a single strand of hair. Shuang’er, can’t you control your gaze? Why stare like that?
Yan Shuangfei blushed—definitely not good to be caught daydreaming so openly. She straightened up, fixed her clothes, and pulled herself together with the authority of the family head, sitting down coldly. Meanwhile, Ying Sha and the doctor were still cuddling, openly showing their affection without a care.
After boarding the plane, Yan Shuangfei stared blankly outside until someone tapped her shoulder. She snapped back to reality.
Wait, that’s not the perfume Qinghan uses. Yan Shuangfei turned with a frown, and Yan Yudie’s face was right in front of her, startling her. Their faces were so close they almost touched!
“What are you doing wandering around like that?” Yan Shuangfei glared, clutching her seatbelt.
“Wanted to talk,” Yan Yudie said softly, different from her flashy look.
Yan Shuangfei understood—right now, she really needed to be a listener.
Some secrets kept bottled up inside a person for too long turn into wounds.
