Scarred Hearts — A Girls' Love Tale - Chapter 8
Yan Shuangfei coldly scanned everyone present, then turned around and said, “Shaoqiu, please help me contact Han Yu. Tell him his men are in my hands. He needs to come personally to pick them up. If he doesn’t show up within an hour, these people will be killed on the spot.”
After saying this, Yan Shuangfei leaned against the wall, completely ignoring the miserable screams coming from Luoxiao nearby. She half-closed her eyes, lost in thought.
Exactly one hour later—neither a minute early nor late—Han Yu arrived, accompanied by a group of armed men.
Han Yu wasn’t very old, probably in his early thirties. He had a sharp, well-defined face and wore gold-rimmed glasses, giving him a refined and scholarly appearance. No wonder he shared the same pronunciation as the ancient scholar Han Yu—he definitely had a strong bookish vibe.
“President Yan,” Han Yu greeted politely, extending his right hand toward Yan Shuangfei.
Outside, the Yan family and the other three major families operated as regular, law-abiding companies that paid their taxes on time.
But the Yan family originated from the underworld, and their income mostly came from illegal businesses. Unlike the other three families who sometimes did shady deals on the side, the Yan family relied entirely on their underworld power. Strength was power—that was their motto. Though times changed and they placed more importance on educating family members, their combat training never slackened. For Yan Shuangfei, if something could be solved quickly and violently, she would never bother with other methods.
Yan Shuangfei was already standing there quietly waiting. When Han Yu extended his hand, she gave a brief, superficial shake before quickly pulling away.
“Your men were reckless and broke the rules. I’ll make sure they’re dealt with properly when we get back,” Han Yu said on his own, waving to his men. “Take them all back.”
“Wait.”
The long rod sword was still in Luoxiao’s hands, so Yan Shuangfei stretched out her left arm to block the Han family men who tried to step forward.
Her arm was long and straight, stretched firmly across their path. On her left hand, she wore a black military-style half-finger glove, but her right hand was bare, which looked odd.
“Han, at least give me a satisfactory explanation for this. You can’t just come and go like that.”
“President Yan, didn’t you already handle those men who broke the rules?”
No matter how unwilling Han Yu was to bow to a woman so much younger than himself, Yan Shuangfei’s position was clear. He wasn’t stupid enough to make a scene right then, so he swallowed his pride.
“I’ve suffered quite a loss in my territory this time,” Yan Shuangfei hinted indirectly.
Han Yu understood the blunt message and smiled nervously, “Christmas is coming soon. I wonder what President Yan might need—I can send it over as a gift.”
“Oh, I’d hate for you to go to such trouble.”
Yan Shaoqiu, standing nearby, watched Yan Shuangfei’s fake politeness and couldn’t help but cringe.
“Alright, Han, I’ll pay for it myself,” Yan Shuangfei said firmly.
That was a statement—no room for Han Yu to refuse.
“What do you want to buy?” Han Yu knew Yan Shuangfei was setting a trap, but now he had no choice but to jump in.
Who knew how many people Yan Shuangfei had arranged secretly? This was Yan family territory—local bullies could easily crush outsiders, let alone the strongest in the area!
“I noticed your men are well-equipped. I heard Han’s company recently got a hundred Type 95 rifles. These standard-issue military rifles are just what I need. I’ll pay 500,000 for all one hundred.”
Damn it, how did she know I had those?
Han Yu was annoyed but had to reply politely, “It’s hard to get those, and the price seems a bit low.”
“A bit low?” Yan Shuangfei pretended to be surprised. “Over 4,000 each. I’m offering 500,000 for a hundred rifles—any extra profit is yours.”
In reality, these guns were worth over ten thousand each on the black market.
Han Yu lost that battle silently but agreed angrily and led his men away.
The underworld values trust, and since many people were involved this time, Han Yu had to save his men.
After hesitating for a moment, Han Yu finally forced himself to extend his right hand and shake Yan Shuangfei’s.
“Pleasure doing business.”
“Pleasure doing business,” she replied with a bright smile, watching Han Yu leave.
Nearby, Luoxiao was pulling the sword out of a man’s chest. The grinding sound of metal against bone was harsh. Luoxiao’s face turned red as she pulled with all her might. Yan Shuangfei smiled and walked over, squatting down, and with a gentle push, easily pulled out the sword.
“It got stuck on the bone,” Luoxiao explained seriously.
“I know,” Yan Shuangfei said happily. Yan Shaoqiu looked at her with starry eyes, excitedly grabbing her hand.
“You’re seriously too cool!” Yan Shaoqiu blurted out without thinking.
Nice one, Yan Shaoqiu—you’re ruthless! And you didn’t even shake her right hand.
Yan Shuangfei awkwardly pulled her hand away and turned to leave.
Luo Qinghan was resting in her office, thinking about what to buy Yan Shuangfei after work that evening as a way to cheer her up.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a phone ringing.
“Luo Qinghan, you better keep your kid under control,” Han Yu’s cultured voice came through, but it was filled with sharp anger.
Did Shuangfei cause trouble again? Luo Qinghan wondered, instructing someone to find out what happened with the Han family.
Luo Qinghan read through the report with interest, wondering if she should talk to Yan Shuangfei about it, when suddenly someone knocked on her door.
Who would come at this time? No one notified her on the internal phone. Who could it be?
Luo Qinghan stood up cautiously.
“It’s me.”
After waiting for a while with no answer, Yan Shuangfei finally spoke.
Luo Qinghan relaxed and opened the door. Seeing Yan Shuangfei standing there with her head down, she couldn’t help but smile and asked, “What brings you here?”
Yan Shuangfei lifted her head, looking at Luo Qinghan with innocent eyes and whispered,
“I’m here to beg for forgiveness.”
This kid still plays this game with me? Maybe I underestimated her a little.
Luo Qinghan suppressed a smile and put on a serious face, asking, “What have you done?”
“Acted without permission.”
Wow, it’s like a proverb dialogue now. Luo Qinghan said nothing, kept a stern face, and pulled Yan Shuangfei inside.
Yan Shuangfei couldn’t guess what Luo Qinghan was thinking, feeling nervous as she was dragged in.
