Scumbag A's Plan to Save the Heroine - Chapter 27
By noon dismissal, Zhi Qiu still hadn’t managed to voice the questions swirling in her heart.
For some reason, whenever she looked at Ruan Ye’s youthful face, her heart would ache inexplicably. At first, she attributed this feeling to lingering guilt from her previous life, but recently she had begun to realize it was something different.
It was a sense of familiarity, as if they had known each other for a long time, as if they had relied on each other for years.
The girl in the wheelchair remained silent. Ruan Ye, as usual, mentally mapped out their route. She pushed the wheelchair along the long road until they suddenly bumped into something hard, realizing someone had come to pick Zhi Qiu up.
Noadon was a private school without fixed morning or evening classes. Its schedule was primarily determined by the availability of visiting experts and professors. Today, for example, they only had two classes in the morning.
After just four hours together, the newly acquainted pair had to part ways. Under the blazing sun, with tree shadows swaying, the standing girl silently released the wheelchair. She suppressed her disappointment, forced a smile, and waved a casual goodbye.
“See you tomorrow, Zhi Qiu!”
The bodyguard had already taken the wheelchair from Ruan Ye and was about to push her forward to the air-conditioned car, eager to get the Young Miss out of the sweltering heat. But as he began to move, he suddenly felt resistance. He glanced down, quickly realizing the situation, and wisely released his grip.
Zhi Qiu gripped the wheelchair, turning it ninety degrees until Ruan Ye faced her directly. Perhaps their recent days together had rekindled the feelings from when they first became a couple in their previous life. She naturally reached out, gently pinching Ruan Ye’s forced smile, and murmured, “You always push yourself so hard. You don’t need to force a smile for me.”
The Alpha’s sudden touch froze Ruan Ye in place. The words she wanted to say caught in her throat, leaving her speechless.
Just as Zhi Qiu harbored many unspoken questions, Ruan Ye had her own doubts she hadn’t voiced.
For instance, why would a complete stranger suddenly care so deeply for her, always acting as if they were intimately familiar?
And why had Zhi Qiu arrived at the dressing room so quickly that day?
Insecure individuals fear change. They retreat into their comfort zones, afraid to take the first step toward success, becoming the first to suffer when things go wrong.
Too many illogical inconsistencies and inexplicable acts of kindness kept Ruan Ye’s heart suspended in mid-air, her feet feeling as if they were treading on ephemeral clouds.
If your sense of security depends on someone else, then the moment that person withdraws, you’ll lose your footing on those clouds and plunge into an abyss of no return.
From their initial awkward encounter to their current familiarity, Zhi Qiu’s actions had long crossed the boundaries of AO relationships and the limits of mere friendship.
Feeling the cool touch on her cheek, Ruan Ye subtly evaded the Alpha’s slender hand and took a half-step back. After a long inner struggle, she finally looked up at the stunned figure in the wheelchair, forced a smile, and said softly, “Thank you for your concern. I just naturally smile a lot. I can’t help but grin like an idiot when I’m with friends.”
The girl’s clear voice emphasized the word “friends,” as if afraid the other person might misunderstand.
The wheelchair on the ground rapidly heated up, as if it had borrowed the sun’s most scorching rays. Zhi Qiu reached out to explain, but the girl had already turned and left.
The wheelchair burned hot, and an overwhelming urge to chase after her surged through Zhi Qiu. Without hesitation, she gripped the wheelchair’s armrests and began to maneuver.
Again and again, the wheelchair spun in place. Annoyed, she turned to glare at the person gripping the chair tightly.
The anger quickly dissipated when she saw who it was: Shang Wu.
Even on this sweltering summer day, Shang Wu was still wearing the uniform he’d received on his first day of work. Sweat had soaked through his clothes, drenching his long sleeves and pants. Judging by his heavy breathing, he must have rushed here.
Remembering her earlier instructions to Shang Wu, Zhi Qiu loosened her grip on the wheelchair. She watched the retreating figure with concern, but only dared to turn and ask once the girl was far enough away, “Why are you in such a hurry? Did something happen?”
Shang Wu remained silent, simply pulling out his phone, navigating to the Federation News Bureau website, and handing it to Zhi Qiu.
The girl in the wheelchair took the phone and glanced at the trending topics. Nothing seemed out of place. “Fu Jin Yan’s case being in the top three Federation hot searches is normal,” she said, puzzled. “After all, the Fu Corporation isn’t easily toppled. They’re trying to rebuild their reputation by appealing to public sympathy, so it’s inevitable they’d use this incident to generate buzz.”
“No,” Shang Wu shook his head. “The Young Miss instructed me to monitor Ruan Ye’s activities and secretly ensure her safety. When I saw the trending topic, I rushed over from the Federal Government.”
The top trending topic blazed with a “爆” (Exploding) tag:
Stalker Fan Follows Top Star to His Residential Complex! Rising Star Song Rang Suffers!
Zhi Qiu frowned at the sensationalist headline and clicked through. The most popular post was a surreptitious photo of Ruan Ye in her school uniform.
Let Let’s Dimple:
Heh, there’s a connection here. Exposing a stalker fan who’s been harassing my bias since his early days, ambushing him on his way to work. Now she’s escalated to stalking him at home! For Let Let’s safety and to maintain order in the fandom, I’m exposing this shameless Omega. Here she is (photo.jpg).
As Zhi Qiu scrolled through the comments, the hand holding her phone trembled with fury, gripping it so tightly she nearly shattered the screen.
Comments Section
(Floor 1): Elegantly waiting for updates. But seriously, in this day and age, how are there still Omegas who can’t respect boundaries with their idols?
(Second Floor): Sisters, I’m a long-time Let Let fan. After investigating, I’m 80-90% sure this is real. The Omega in the photo is named Ruan Ye and studies at Noadon. She’s been following Song Rang since way back when he wasn’t famous yet. We old fans have all seen her and even greeted her before.
(Third Floor): Holy crap, she’s been around that long? Song Rang’s only been famous for a few years! Could she be his girlfriend? Whispering She’s so gorgeous, even I, a Beta, am a little jealous. And she studies at Noadon? Her grades and family background must be top-tier. She’s probably a good match for Song Rang. Maybe the girlfriend fans should step aside?
(Fourth Floor): Third Floor, what kind of twisted logic is that? Even if she’s beautiful, she’s still a stalker who’s endangering Song Rang’s safety! Sisters, we need to dox her today and make her explain herself!
(Fifth Floor): I second that!
(Sixth Floor): Same here! Let’s mobilize, Let Let fans! Make this sasaeng pay the price!
(Seventh Floor): I found her! She lives in Apartment 391 at 6 Huabei Highway—the same building as Let Let! He has a schedule today, so we’ve organized fans with tools to confront her at her apartment tonight and demand an apology!
(Eighth Floor): Good grief, fans are going too far…
