Scumbag A's Plan to Save the Heroine - Chapter 3
Huai’an Community.
It took Fu Jin Yan a long time to get the Ruan Family to open their door.
Inside, he found not the Ruan Ye he longed for, but only her two deadbeat adoptive parents.
The moment they saw him, they rushed out, showering him with concern and false warmth.
Fu Jin Yan learned that debt collectors had been banging on their door, forcing them to hide inside.
Barely containing his anger, he demanded, “Where’s Ruan Ye?”
Ruan Ye’s adoptive father’s eyes darted around craftily as he feigned ignorance, rubbing his thumb and forefinger together repeatedly, a blatant hint.
To Fu Jin Yan, the Ruan Family’s debts were a pittance.
But until Ruan Ye obeyed him, he had no intention of settling their debts. In fact, he hoped the gambling addicts would sink deeper into debt, ideally to the point where Ruan Ye could never repay it, even if she worked her entire life.
Only then would he have complete control over her.
After much wrangling, Fu Jin Yan finally learned Ruan Ye’s whereabouts.
Two days earlier, with the help of a man, she had moved out.
This game of playing hard to get has gone too far, Fu Jin Yan thought coldly. Good thing she’s still in school and can’t escape. When I return to Noadon tomorrow, I’ll teach this woman a lesson for moving without even telling me.
The next morning, Zhi Qiu forced herself out of bed, despite feeling unwell.
Medical tests revealed nothing wrong with her body, yet she was undeniably ill. To persuade Doctor Mu to discharge her, she had agreed to return to the hospital every evening for further examinations.
Her parents were both busy. Zhi Ze’en was the CEO of a major corporation, while Du Fang served as the editor-in-chief of an internationally renowned magazine. Constantly traveling abroad, they had no time to visit the hospital and check on her minor leg injury.
However, Zhi Qiu’s body was alarmingly frail. When her condition flared up, the pain was so intense it felt like her internal organs were being torn apart, driving her to the brink of suicide.
Desperate not to miss any chance to see Ruan Ye, Zhi Qiu knew she couldn’t attend school independently in her current state. After much deliberation, she pulled out her phone and called Yuan Menglu, who had helped her with the re-enrollment procedures the previous day.
Since her rebirth, Zhi Qiu trusted Shang Wu most, followed closely by Yuan Menglu.
At the gates of Noadon Academy:
Despite her earlier grumbling, Yuan Menglu’s actions spoke louder than words.
Still half-asleep, she had woken up early, instructed the driver to bring her wheelchair to the school gate, and waited for the person who had asked her to go to school together.
Yuan Menglu had always been a prominent figure at school, but now, with a wheelchair beside her, she drew even more curious glances.
Noticing the stares, Yuan Menglu glared with her phoenix-shaped eyes and snorted coldly, “Keep staring, and I’ll gouge your eyes out.”
Several wealthy heirs quickly averted their gazes, unwilling to confront Noadon’s notorious fiery temper.
While waiting, a cockroach crawled under her delicate, high-heeled leather shoes. She shrieked and darted away, but even in the chaos, she remembered to pull the wheelchair with her, preventing the insect from reaching Zhi Qiu’s seat.
More than a school, Noadon was a social hub for the wealthy elite, where they forged connections, learned business management, and honed their commercial acumen.
Except for a handful of scholarship students, no one paid much attention to school rules. The second-generation heirs selectively attended classes they deemed useful, dedicating the rest of their time to internships at their family companies.
Ruan Ye’s ink-black hair was neatly tied up high, and she wore her school uniform, washed until it had faded to a pale white, with meticulous care.
Having just moved into a new home, she should have been celebrating her housewarming, but she hadn’t slept a wink all night.
Seeing Yuan Menglu standing at the school gate, pushing her wheelchair and waiting for someone, Ruan Ye suddenly recalled the hands that had wiped away her tears the day before.
She frowned, and for reasons she couldn’t quite understand, she crushed a cockroach under her foot, flattening it into an oval-shaped pancake.
During the morning rush hour, a black McLaren drove slowly and steadily down the road. The car itself was nothing extraordinary for the wealthy, but its license plate was anything but understated, conspicuously displaying its owner’s status.
As a result, even those hurrying to work avoided trying to squeeze past in the narrow lanes.
Being late was a minor inconvenience—just missing out on perfect attendance.
But accidentally scratching this car could mean insurance claims exceeding tens of thousands of yuan, potentially making affordable car insurance impossible to obtain next year.
With cars continuously yielding the right-of-way, the driver quickly reached the entrance of Noadon.
Yuan Menglu recognized the license plate and pushed her wheelchair to the car door. Before the occupant could even step out, she burst out, “I’m dying of heat! Why are you so late?”
Everyone has their own way of expressing themselves. Some keep everything bottled up, while others are always eager to share.
“There was this bug that scared me half to death, blah blah blah…”
“Oh, right! I think I just saw the person who bumped into you yesterday.”
Hearing this, Zhi Qiu froze. “Let’s hurry inside.”
She had no idea what might happen today or how far the plot had progressed. She needed to stay close to Ruan Ye.
The morning study bell hadn’t yet rung, but Ruan Ye, who had arrived early to prepare for self-study, was ambushed at the stairwell corner. A pair of hands clamped over her mouth, and she was dragged without mercy into a cramped changing room.
As she struggled, she looked up and saw Fu Jin Yan’s arrogant face.
Fu Jin Yan’s frustration had only grown after failing to find Ruan Ye yesterday. His domineering nature flared as he gripped her slender jaw, his words dripping with venom: “Who helped you move? That little star, Song Rang? Do you think you’re so beautiful that you can play these men against each other? Let me tell you, these As only want to play with you because you’re pretty. Only I genuinely want to marry you.”
Ruan Ye clawed at Fu Jin Yan’s right hand, which was choking her neck. Her ponytail came undone, strands scattering wildly as she writhed like a fish dying on dry land.
“Don’t you dare slander Brother Song Rang,” the girl snapped. “We have nothing to do with each other, and I never agreed to marry you.”
Her words struck a nerve in Fu Jin Yan, who retorted furiously, “I’ve been paying for your grandmother’s appointments, medical care, hospitalization, and medication every month. What else would you call that if not being kept? How can you claim we’re completely innocent and unrelated?”
In his rage, a trace of the Alpha’s pheromones leaked out. Fu Jin Yan noticed but, consumed by fury, made no effort to suppress them. Instead, he watched with a cold smirk to see how the once defiant girl would react.
Omegas are acutely sensitive to pheromones. Almost instantly, Ruan Ye’s body went limp, her instincts taking over as she collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath.
Seeing her resistance crumble, Fu Jin Yan grinned. He tightly intertwined his fingers with the girl’s left hand—the one that had been clawing and pinching him—and mocked cruelly, “Beg me to withdraw my pheromones and get you an Omega Inhibitor. Otherwise, I’ll walk out right now, and within half an hour, the entire school will know you lost control and went into heat in the locker room.”
Ding-a-ling!
The bell for morning class had already rung.
Ruan Ye wasn’t in the classroom, leaving Zhi Qiu restless.
Just as she was about to go look for her, a familiar tart green apple scent filled the air.
The wheelchair crashed with a loud bang, overturning the desk blocking its path.
Standing at the podium was Ren Yi, the CEO of a tech company. Having studied finance, he had accepted the school’s invitation to share his entrepreneurial experience with these privileged students.
Though addressed as “Teacher,” Ren Yi had no formal contract with Nolton. He was merely helping the school save face by taking a few days off work.
Hearing the commotion, he glanced at the school’s notorious troublemaker, only to see her face dark with fury, as if she wanted to kill someone.
Ren Yi set down his chalk and approached Zhi Qiu, but before he could speak, the person in the wheelchair grabbed his collar and shoved him aside.
Though an Alpha himself, Ren Yi hadn’t detected the faint Omega pheromones in the air. However, under the overwhelming pressure of Zhi Qiu’s Alpha pheromones, he quickly realized something was wrong at the school.
High-ranking Alpha pheromones rarely go out of control unless a closely bonded Omega nearby is experiencing heat symptoms.
To avoid affecting the Omegas in the classroom, Ren Yi endured the indiscriminate pheromone assault, forcing himself to push the wheelchair out of the room.
As they passed Yuan Menglu’s desk, Zhi Qiu snatched her backpack, knowing Yuan Menglu always carried Omega Inhibitors in it.
Almost as soon as Ren Yi had pushed the wheelchair out of the classroom, Zhi Qiu abandoned him, propelling the wheelchair at top speed toward the source of the pheromone leak.
Ultimately, human legs proved faster than manual propulsion. Ren Yi quickly caught up to Zhi Qiu.
Working in tandem, Zhi Qiu pointed the way while Ren Yi sprinted.
“Zhi Qiu, do you have any Inhibitors?”
As they neared their destination, Ren Yi finally detected the distinct scent of Omega pheromones.
In the face of a rampaging Alpha’s pheromones of a higher grade, other Alphas wouldn’t go into heat; instead, they would suffer mental damage from the superior pheromonal assault. Ren Yi was only able to push the wheelchair by sheer force of will.
“I only have Omega Inhibitors. Let’s rescue the person first, then worry about me.”
Five minutes passed, but Fu Jin Yan still hadn’t gotten Ruan Ye to yield.
He angrily released his grip on Ruan Ye’s neck, regretting his impulsive actions.
He stood up, preparing to go out and find an Omega Inhibitor.
From the moment she entered, Ruan Ye had been clutching a sharp key in her palm. Seeing Fu Jin Yan relax his grip, she could no longer conceal the malevolence in her eyes. Summoning her last reserves of strength, she used the key—carelessly dropped by someone in the dressing room—to slash at his exposed neck.
A split-second decision.
The dressing room door creaked open. Realizing what was happening, the girl twisted her wrist, reversed the key’s direction, and aimed it at her own throat.
Ren Yi kicked the door open, and two figures burst into the room. The one in the wheelchair lunged forward, snatching the key from the girl’s hand just as she was about to cut her own throat.
Fu Jin Yan stared in astonishment at the two newcomers, still struggling to grasp the situation.
He quickly succumbed to the overwhelming pheromones emanating from Zhi Qiu, his body convulsing in agony as he collapsed to the floor.
Zhi Qiu’s hand pressed firmly against the carotid artery in Ruan Ye’s neck, while the key’s sharp point had already carved a bloody gash across her right arm.
The pheromones in the air were no longer indiscriminately targeting Fu Jin Yan alone.
This allowed Ren Yi to finally catch his breath. He adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
If he and Zhi Qiu hadn’t arrived in time, someone might have died.
