Scumbag A's Plan to Save the Heroine - Chapter 4
The dressing room was a chaotic mess, the crisp scent of cedarwood mingling with the tartness of apples, their fragrances intertwined like inseparable lovers.
Zhi Qiu knelt on the floor, her injured leg bent beneath her, the other braced between Ruan Ye’s skirted legs. The crimson scar slashing across her pale, fragile skin stood out with grotesque horror. With her injured right arm, she roughly yanked the weapon—a key—from Ruan Ye’s hand. The discarded key clattered against the marble floor with a sharp, ringing sound.
In their previous life, Zhi Qiu had often noticed scars of varying depths on Ruan Ye’s body during intimate moments. Some were faded, ancient marks, barely visible imprints, while others were fresh wounds still scabbed over. At the time, she had assumed they were all the result of abuse from Ruan Ye’s adoptive parents. Now, she realized that many were likely self-inflicted.
Regaining her senses, Zhi Qiu’s mind cleared, but her injured leg, now in a cast, prevented her from moving. To avoid crushing Ruan Ye beneath her, she had to support herself entirely on her arms against the cold marble floor. Ruan Ye lay supine, her gaze fixed on the ceiling, the only thing visible besides Zhi Qiu’s delicate, still-beautiful face, despite her illness.
The young, headstrong Alpha was struggling to control his surging pheromones, fiercely resisting his biological instincts. By then, Ren Yi had rushed over and injected Ruan Ye with an Omega Inhibitor. She watched her savior’s face contort in pain, tears streaming uncontrollably down his face.
The situation was too complex to handle immediately. Ren Yi decided to lock the two of them together for now, planning to find an Alpha-specific Inhibitor before making further decisions. Ruan Ye was still limp and unable to assist in resolving the situation. After weighing the options, Ren Yi decided to move her to a safer location first.
Ruan Ye sat blankly as Ren Yi placed her in a wheelchair and pushed her away.
In her dazed state, she faintly heard a soft murmur coming from the direction where she had just been lying.
The words were: “Don’t cry.”
Ruan Ye snapped awake, suddenly realizing this wasn’t a dream she had conjured to deceive herself. She frantically twisted her body in the wheelchair, her hands grasping at the air, desperate to grab something. Through the crack in the door, she caught a fleeting glimpse of Zhi Qiu’s anguished profile.
Ren Yi closed the locker room door.
He pushed Ruan Ye, still in Zhi Qiu’s wheelchair, through the deserted corridor, his steps hesitant.
Noadon Academy, renowned for attracting students from the region’s most prestigious families, received annual sponsorships too numerous to count. A significant portion of these funds lined the principal’s pockets, while the remainder was legitimately allocated to school construction. Ren Yi now felt deeply grateful to these wealthy patrons, for it was thanks to their vast school complex that hidden shortcuts existed, allowing him to discreetly escort Ruan Ye to safety.
Though Ren Yi knew the school’s layout like the back of his hand, he hesitated briefly during their journey.
Logically, as not Ruan Ye’s homeroom teacher, he should hand her over to Qian Yan, her homeroom teacher, as per school regulations. Qian Yan, a Beta, would then be responsible for Ruan Ye’s safety. Emotionally, however, Ren Yi doubted Ruan Ye would be safer under Qian Yan’s care, given her ties to the Fu Family—the very family whose heir had caused Ruan Ye’s injuries.
Ultimately, Ren Yi decided to move Ruan Ye to his temporary office.
After entering the office, he locked the door and prepared to settle Ruan Ye in before retrieving an Omega Inhibitor.
Just as he began to breathe a sigh of relief, a knock echoed through the room.
Xiao Wang, who had come to deliver lesson plans, gripped the doorknob, his face etched with confusion as he called out, “What’s going on? It’s usually open, but it’s class time now. Teacher Ren Yi, are you in there?”
Ren Yi cursed inwardly, Damn it.
Of all the times, Assistant Wang had to come deliver the lesson plans now.
If anyone at the school discovered an Alpha and his Omega student alone in a locked room, Ren Yi, as an outsider, would be fine. But Ruan Ye, as a student, would face endless gossip and judgment.
As Ren Yi frantically considered his options, a familiar voice suddenly rang out from outside the door.
Assistant Wang was chatting with someone.
Seeing the newcomer, Assistant Wang greeted her with a fawning smile. “Miss Yuan, I’m here to deliver the lesson plans to Teacher Ren Yi. I was supposed to bring them before class, but I got delayed. I didn’t expect him to lock the door before class ended.”
“Give me the plans,” Miss Yuan snapped. “I was waiting for him anyway. I have questions about the prospectus. Hurry up and leave—you’re blocking my view.”
Without hesitation, Assistant Wang handed the lesson plans to Young Miss Yuan, who was known for her volatile temper.
He might have hesitated with anyone else, since the principal had instructed him to deliver the plans personally to Ren Yi’s desk. But the Yuan family was notoriously unreasonable. He wasn’t about to risk offending this young heiress over the principal’s orders. He had clawed his way to his current position through sheer effort, and he knew all too well the terrifying power of capital.
Only after Assistant Wang had left the floor did Yuan Menglu knock on Ren Yi’s office door again.
This time, the door opened quickly. The refined Alpha greeted her with a radiant smile, his gold-rimmed glasses glinting in the sunlight. Across the room, Ruan Ye sat in her wheelchair, shrouded in the cabinet’s shadow, appearing gloomy and melancholic. If Yuan Menglu hadn’t intervened, Ren Yi had originally planned to hide Ruan Ye inside the cabinet.
“Xiao Lu, you’re still as clever as when you were a child,” Ren Yi said with genuine warmth.
Yuan Menglu, who had grown up in City A’s prestigious Yuan family, had heard countless flattering remarks since childhood. Yet, she still blushed, awkwardly avoiding her teacher’s gaze as she pulled an Omega Inhibitor from her pocket—a dose sufficient for five adult Alphas.
She had secretly taken it from the student council’s storage room using her privileged access.
Ren Yi, assuming she was simply embarrassed by the compliment, accepted the inhibitor without hesitation. “Zhi Qiu is waiting for me,” he said. “I can’t delay any longer. Xiao Lu, would you mind taking care of Ruan Ye here? She’s been frightened and injected with a large dose of inhibitors in a short time, leaving her very weak.”
Though Ren Yi’s words were polite, his tone was firm and left no room for argument. Before Yuan Menglu could even agree, he had already grabbed the Omega Inhibitor and rushed out of the office.
Now only Ruan Ye and Yuan Menglu remained in the office. Gone was the arrogant demeanor she had displayed outside the door. Yuan Menglu’s eyes darkened until Ruan Ye’s wheelchair rolled out from the shadow of the cabinet and gently bumped against her.
Yuan Menglu frowned, wanting to avoid trouble. She shifted slightly, preparing to move away, but Ruan Ye suddenly spoke, her voice hoarse, “Can we talk?”
In the changing room, Zhi Qiu and Fu Jin Yan were locked together.
Zhi Qiu had somehow managed to get up from the floor. Clutching her chest, she sat on one of the chairs provided for students to change, panting heavily. Like a queen surveying her domain, she looked down at Fu Jin Yan, who was kneeling on the floor, writhing in agony from his pheromones.
For the first time, she was grateful this was an ABO world. The hierarchical suppression between Alphas meant that otherwise, she might be the one being pinned to the floor and humiliated.
As Zhi Qiu relaxed her grip, the cedarwood pheromones in the air softened. Fu Jin Yan gasped for breath, pointing at Zhi Qiu, who stood high above him, and was about to speak.
Zhi Qiu raised an eyebrow. The once fresh, non-irritating cedarwood scent suddenly turned violent, becoming acrid, thick, and corrosive, as if roaring to devour everything in the room.
Fu Jin Yan’s mind reeled from the overwhelming stimulus. He clutched his head and writhed on the rough locker room floor. Finally, Zhi Qiu seized a moment of respite and turned her piercing gaze toward the figure who had been watching the spectacle from the start.
This person claimed to be her system.
The Truth System inwardly lamented its poor timing.
Moments ago, it had been in human form. Now, it abruptly transformed into a talking fan, fawningly fanning Zhi Qiu.
Grasping the materialized palm-leaf fan, Zhi Qiu felt conflicted. In her previous life, she had longed for a system to help her return home. But now that one had actually appeared, she found it more of a burden than an asset.
Having resolved to stay in this world for Ruan Ye, the system would only hinder her. With that thought, Zhi Qiu tightened her grip on the fan, her hand stilling.
The Truth System reverted to its human form, crouching before Zhi Qiu to meet her gaze.
Fu Jin Yan’s ears were ringing so loudly that he was completely oblivious to the changes around him. He had no idea that in the center of the dressing room, Zhi Qiu was staring at a patch of empty air as if she were talking to a madman.
After a long silence, Zhi Qiu asked a question completely unrelated to the situation: “Why can’t I touch your physical form when you’re in human form, but I can touch you when you’re a fan?”
The Truth System confessed, “I didn’t help you earlier not because I didn’t want to, but because I couldn’t. My human form can’t touch anyone. I come from another world, a program designed for you by a woman but ultimately never used. I have no physical form of my own, but because I exist because of you, I temporarily gain a physical form when I transform into something connected to you. The fan I just became was the one you casually bought when you were seven years old to let the old woman selling wares go home early. I am a part of your body, and I know everything you’re thinking.”
The words sounded sincere, but Zhi Qiu only felt a strange unease. Ren Yi, who had rushed over, had already unlocked the door, leaving Zhi Qiu no choice but to temporarily set aside her confusion.
Panting heavily, Ren Yi burst into the room and immediately saw Fu Jin Yan lying face-down on the floor, foaming at the mouth like a dead dog.
He quickly flipped Fu Jin Yan over with his foot, turning him to face the ceiling.
Why use his foot? Because Ren Yi’s hands were occupied. His right hand pressed against the back of Fu Jin Yan’s neck, while his left hand pushed the Omega Inhibitor into the Alpha’s gland. Though Ren Yi was an Alpha himself, this was his first time using this type of inhibitor. By the time he realized what he’d done, he had injected three times the dosage required for an adult Alpha’s Heat Period.
The dangling metal chains clinked together with a crisp sound. Ren Yi, annoyed, pushed up his glasses and smiled brightly at Zhi Qiu, who was watching him with cold eyes. “Student Zhi, what should we do? At this dosage, Classmate Fu probably won’t be able to stand for a month.”
