Scumbag A's Plan to Save the Heroine - Chapter 47
The story begins on that day.
It was a clear summer day, the sun blazing fiercely, cicadas buzzing incessantly.
People walking along the road exhaled hot breaths with each breath, fanning themselves to evaporate beads of sweat from their skin.
For ordinary people in this world, it was just another ordinary day.
But for Ruan Ye, that day marked a cataclysmic shift in her life.
This was an era where arranged marriages were fading, and free love was increasingly valued.
Even so, many Omega members of prominent families still adhered to their families’ arrangements, getting engaged early to Alphas of equal status. This strategic alliance aimed to consolidate their families’ power in the business and political spheres.
Ruan Ye had lived her first eighteen years in quiet tranquility.
At eighteen, Ruan Ye had blossomed into a graceful young woman. Even without expensive adornments, she always presented herself impeccably.
Her hair was jet-black, its silken sheen rivaling professionally treated locks. Her face was naturally beautiful, a gift from nature, unadorned and perfectly formed. She always walked with her chest held high, refusing to slouch or avert her gaze even in the bustling, competitive environment of the business school, where wealthy elites mingled with ambitious students from all backgrounds.
In the eighteen years since losing her family, Ruan Ye had lived a remarkably peaceful life. She had been accepted into the best school and experienced the world’s grandest spectacles. Though her impoverished background made her feel like an invisible presence among her classmates, she remained fiercely ambitious, determined to carve out a place in the world where she and her grandmother could thrive through her own efforts.
Ruan Ye never considered herself particularly exceptional.
After all, this was Nolton, where countless wealthy and aristocratic families sent their most promising Alphas and Omegas for elite training.
But fate seemed to be playing a cruel joke on her.
For reasons she couldn’t fathom, Ruan Ye had caught the attention of Fu Jin Yan, the student council president.
From that day forward, everything changed. Fu Jin Yan’s relentless pursuit shattered her peaceful existence.
At first, she was merely annoyed, believing that a clear rejection would restore normalcy. Little did she know this was only the beginning of her misfortune.
Fu Jin Yan’s courtship began with polite gifts, but when rebuffed, he resorted to any means necessary. His tactics grew increasingly ruthless, including seduction, coercion, bribery, and relentless pressure—a relentless campaign with no regard for boundaries.
The Fu Family was a prominent local clan, and Fu Jin Yan, as the eldest son, was widely regarded as their heir. As the student council president at Nolton, he was known for his thoughtfulness and popularity, earning him the favor of teachers and peers alike.
Ruan Ye was a special admissions student at Nolton, receiving exceptional care from the faculty and administration. When she realized she couldn’t resolve the situation herself, her first instinct was to seek help from her homeroom teacher, Qian Yan.
For reasons she couldn’t fathom, Qian Yan, who had always been supportive and helpful, not only refused to take her side but openly humiliated her, accusing her of ingratitude. When Ruan Ye turned to other school officials, the outcome was predictable.
Everything had changed. What made it even more absurd was that ever since Fu Jin Yan began pursuing her, Alphas who had previously scorned her humble background now secretly messaged her, claiming they had secretly harbored feelings for her for a long time.
Meanwhile, Omegas and Betas were consumed by envy and jealousy. Classmates who had once kept their distance suddenly began isolating her, constantly sabotaging her efforts in various ways.
It felt as if the world had begun to revolve around her.
After eighteen years of being invisible, Ruan Ye suddenly found herself facing a tidal wave of malice. Feeling utterly helpless, she knew that, theoretically, accepting Fu Jin Yan’s pursuit was her best option for self-preservation at this stage. She understood the weight of her choices.
But the world began to spin again.
A tall, striking Alpha known in social circles as a “heartbreaker” suddenly returned to school.
Ruan Ye, who had already been studying for two years, only now realized that such a figure existed in her class.
As expected, this newly returned Alpha named Zhi Qiu immediately launched an aggressive pursuit of Ruan Ye. Not only did she resolve the malice from classmates and the harassment from Fu Jin Yan and other suitors, but she was also incredibly considerate, never pressuring Ruan Ye to do anything she didn’t want to.
Everything unfolded with the efficiency and speed of a completed mission, each step perfectly executed.
Ruan Ye despised this kind of calculated approach and initially maintained a cool, indifferent attitude toward Zhi Qiu.
But the tall, charismatic Alpha was witty and humorous, constantly regaling her with stories from her past romantic escapades. The hilarious anecdotes and quirky psychological insights often had Ruan Ye laughing heartily.
Zhi Qiu gradually seeped into Ruan Ye’s life. She would accompany her on walks in the park, to pet dogs at the pet store, and even to visit the children at the orphanage where Ruan Ye had once lived.
These were all ordinary things that anyone could do, but the tall, spirited Alpha always wore a cheerful smile, as if she never tired. Ruan Ye knew she was putting on an act.
Was it all to win her over?
Zhi Qiu, who rarely spoke, pretended to be talkative. Despite her trembling hands, she still feigned a lecherous air as she reached for Ruan Ye’s hand.
Why would someone exhibit such contradictory behavior?
Driven by curiosity, Ruan Ye accepted Zhi Qiu’s advances.
At first, she convinced herself that she was merely intrigued by this contradictory person and wanted to deepen their connection. But as their days together stretched into weeks and months, she had to admit she had fallen in love with this strong yet fragile, cheerful yet introverted, and utterly peculiar woman.
Ruan Ye felt a sense of pride, knowing she was the only one who had seen through Zhi Qiu’s facade to her true self.
Yet this woman, who had once filled her with pride, now left her bitterly disappointed.
The first time Ruan Ye caught Zhi Qiu being intimate with another Omega was three months after they had become a couple.
A petite female Omega, dressed in a pink dress and heavily made up, sat on Zhi Qiu’s lap, about to feed her wine mouth-to-mouth. Zhi Qiu’s brows were furrowed in a deep frown. Seeing the resistance in her lover’s eyes, Ruan Ye pushed open the door, her face icy as she yanked the Omega off Zhi Qiu’s lap and sent her sprawling to the floor.
Having witnessed her lover’s body language, Ruan Ye already knew what had likely happened. But her anger burned too fiercely, and she refused to admit she was jealous. Her voice cold, she demanded, “Who is she, Zhi Qiu? You’ve got some nerve, sneaking around behind my back…”
Before she could finish, the world spun violently.
Ruan Ye stumbled backward, her eyes wide with shock as she clutched her cheek, staring in disbelief at her familiar yet suddenly alien lover. She watched Zhi Qiu sweep the sobbing hostess into a princess carry, not even glancing at her, and turn to flee out the door.
The bartender scurried after them, chuckling nervously. “My apologies, Miss Zhi. We couldn’t stop this crazy woman. I’ll get you another room right away.”
“No need. We’re going to the hotel.” The Alpha’s words were deliberately ambiguous, yet his voice remained clear and calm, with only a faint, almost imperceptible hint of panic beneath the surface.
The face, the voice, the silhouette—all were familiar. Yet the words spoken and the actions taken were nothing like the somewhat innocent and shy Zhi Qiu that Ruan Ye knew.
The power disparity between Alphas and Omegas was absolute. This slap, delivered with less than ten percent of its full force, still left a red mark on Ruan Ye’s cheek.
“Why?” The slap mark gradually faded as Ruan Ye lay half-sprawled on the ground, her eyes glazed over, muttering to herself. “Why?”
