Seducing Him - Chapter 42
When she went downstairs, the auntie had already prepared a table full of dishes.
Ci Yiyang saw the woman sitting on the sofa in the living room as she descended the stairs. Her appearance and demeanor gave off a kind of fragile softness that made one want to protect her.
Perhaps it was this face, so beautiful that time seemed reluctant to leave a mark on it, that allowed Lu Lan to become the unforgotten “white moonlight” in her father’s heart, and why he brought her back so impatiently right after her mother’s death.
Ever since her father got together with Lu Lan, he had also started to like dressing himself in a younger style. However, the few strands of white hair combed back were a sign of the passage of time that had already etched itself onto his brows.
He and Lu Lan didn’t match at all.
“Yangyang.” The woman saw her and called out to her with a gentle expression.
Ci Yiyang lowered her long eyelashes and walked down, politely greeting her, “Hello, Auntie Lu.”
Lu Lan smiled at her. “Don’t be so formal. We’ll be a family from now on. Come, have a seat.”
The few of them sat at the long dining table. The atmosphere wasn’t as stiff as one might have expected; instead, it brought a bit of life into the empty house.
Lu Lan asked softly, “Yangyang, you’re graduating soon, aren’t you? Is your schoolwork very busy right now?”
Ci Yiyang’s face maintained a constant smile. “Yes, but not too busy.”
Lu Lan asked again, “What do you plan to do after graduation? Do you want to come work at the company?”
Ci Yiyang shook her head, declining. “Thank you, Auntie Lu, but I already have a company in mind for my internship.”
“Is that so?” The woman’s disappointment was obvious.
The man beside her couldn’t stand to see her sad. He put a piece of her favorite dish on her plate and comforted her, “She likes to see new things outside and doesn’t like to be confined to the company’s four walls. Ah Lan, don’t worry about her.”
Ci Yiyang looked at the two of them, lowering her head to eat to hide the corners of her mouth that she couldn’t bring herself to lift.
Lu Jin was a man of few words. Most of the time, it was Lu Lan who spoke gently, and Ci Yiyang would answer, occasionally accompanied by the man’s voice.
The scene was so warm it felt like they were truly a complete and harmonious family.
But no matter how gentle and friendly Lu Lan appeared, Ci Yiyang couldn’t bring herself to like the two people who had moved in, especially since her father’s voice was so stiff in their conversations.
The man was gentle and the woman was delicate.
They seemed like childhood sweethearts who had been together for decades, and everyone else was just a passerby, a temporary obstacle on the road to their beautiful, happily-ever-after.
After watching the loving scene for a while, an inexplicable feeling of nausea welled up in her stomach.
“Sister?” A boy’s confused voice came from beside her, so soft it was almost a whisper, mixed in with the man and woman’s conversation.
Ci Yiyang’s eyes moved with a jolt, and when she lowered her gaze, she saw that her hand was unconsciously digging into Lu Jin’s leg.
“Sorry.” She stared at it for a few seconds, then apologized in a low voice.
She tried to pull her hand back, but the boy suddenly grabbed it, pressing it back onto his leg. His cool fingertips brushed against hers with a hint of indulgence.
Her eyes froze, and she slowly looked up.
Lu Jin had already finished his meal and was lazily leaning back in his chair, his eyes lowered as if he was on his phone. In reality, he was toying with her fingers.
He used his neatly trimmed fingernails to trace the lines on her palm, as if he were looking for the love line she had mentioned that day.
In front of them were the middle-aged man and woman who were about to form a new family. Under the table were the young man and woman who were about to become step-siblings, engaged in an ambiguous act.
He was willing, he couldn’t resist the temptation, he wanted to be like Luo Lin, unable to wait even a few more years.
So why should she have to watch them live happily in her mother’s house, sleep in her mother’s room, use her mother’s closet, and become a loving couple?
To be fair, she couldn’t wait either.
The nausea in her stomach suddenly reached a breaking point, then receded in an instant, and Ciyi Yang’s finger twitched.
When he looked at her, she blinked her clear, almond-shaped eyes. Her dark, bright pupils seemed to have captured all the light from the long crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. She gave the boy the brightest smile of the day.
She was seducing his sight.
Lu Jin’s gaze fell on her gentle face. The fleeting emotion was suppressed in his dark pupils, and he also slowly curved his lips.
He seemed to be getting weaker and weaker against her self-control.
After the woman looked away, Lu Jin casually turned his head and saw the man who was just coming upstairs.
Luo Lin hadn’t expected to see him there and was surprised. He then walked towards him. “Ah Jin, I was just looking for you.”
He intended to test Lu Jin’s stance again. Although Lu Lan said Lu Jin respected her remarriage, he still felt the boy was too polite and distant.
Before he could get close, the boy’s calm, gentle voice sounded faintly.
“Uncle Luo, remember I told you I don’t like the smell of smoke? Please keep your distance.”
Luo Lin’s steps faltered. He remembered that he had smoked a couple of puffs downstairs. “Sorry, Uncle Luo forgot.”
“Mm.” Lu Jin rested one hand on the creamy white stone railing, his expression kind as he asked, “What did you need, Uncle Luo?”
Luo Lin chose his words carefully. “We’re going back to the old house. I was wondering if you wanted to come with us?”
Lu Jin’s peripheral vision caught the person downstairs looking down and typing on her phone, which was vibrating in her palm.
He smiled. “Mm, I’d like to go.”
After saying that, he tilted his head slightly and asked casually, “Is there anything else, Uncle Luo?”
Luo Lin felt relieved to have his confirmation. “No, that’s all.”
Lu Jin politely stepped aside.
Luo Lin continued on his way upstairs to rest.
After Luo Lin left, he looked at the message he had received.
Want to sleep with you.
Three simple words, a provocative notification.
The itch in his throat seemed to be spreading crazily through his limbs. The right hand holding the phone began to tremble uncontrollably, but he calmly glanced at the person downstairs waiting for him to read the message, then turned and walked towards his room.
Downstairs, Ci Yiyang didn’t get a reply from Lu Jin and couldn’t help but wonder if he hadn’t seen the message or if he was thinking of how to reject her.
The thought had just appeared, but she immediately dismissed the latter.
Lu Jin couldn’t possibly not want to. She wouldn’t be wrong about that feeling.
She pursed her lips, got up, and walked towards the stairs.
Luo Lin and the others were in the master bedroom on the third floor, so no one would see her as she stood at Lu Jin’s door and opened it with his fingerprint.
When she went inside, Lu Jin wasn’t there, and the room’s lights weren’t even on.
Ci Yiyang turned on the lights and called his name a few times, but there was no response.
After entering, she realized he was in the bathroom, taking a shower.
He didn’t reply to her message, but he was getting ready by taking a shower.
What a flirtatious man.
Ci Yiyang pouted and sat on the bed to wait for Lu Jin to come out.
Perhaps because the room’s color scheme was so cool, it felt empty with just one person inside, and waiting for someone made the time feel long and unsettling.
Ci Yiyang wanted to find something to pass the time, so she turned her gaze to the uniquely shaped door in the room.
That door… she had never seen it opened before?
She had asked Lu Jin about it once before, and he had answered casually that it was a gaming room.
Ci Yiyang stared at the door in front of her, listening to the sound of water coming from the bathroom. She wondered when he would finish.
After a moment’s thought, she stood up, intending to go to the gaming room to pass the time.
When she reached the door, she suddenly stopped to examine it. A strange feeling ran through her.
She had just noticed that this door… also had a lock installed.
