She Came From Hell (GL) - Chapter 10
Around two o’clock, Fu Yinxuan woke Shen Yilan up and walked her back to her classroom from the dormitory.
When Shen Yilan saw her desk piled with snacks and little notes, she was speechless.
Are first graders always this mature?
Fu Yinxuan’s face darkened when he saw the mess on her desk. Kids these days! Instead of focusing on their studies, they’re wasting time on nonsense!
He glanced at Zhou Yahuan and Zheng Qi, who immediately understood. They quickly cleared the snacks and notes off the desk.
The desk was empty in no time. Shen Yilan looked longingly at the chocolate among the confiscated snacks. Ah… my precious chocolate!
“If this happens again, throw everything straight into the trash,” Fu Yinxuan warned her. “Only naughty kids keep these kinds of things. If you’re not a good little girl, I’ll tell Dad, and then he won’t like you anymore.”
Shen Yilan: Almost believed that.
“Okay… Big Brother, I’ll be good!” Shen Yilan nodded, her voice soft.
Fu Yinxuan, satisfied, nodded and left with Zhou Yahuan and Zheng Qi.
Feeling bored, Shen Yilan slumped over her desk. Around her, whispers from her classmates, the teacher’s voice lecturing, and the sounds of kids playing during P.E. on the playground outside drifted to her ears.
She thought to herself, If I can become strong enough, no one will ever be able to hurt me again. It’s not that I’m too ambitious—I just don’t want to suffer any more pain in my already battered heart.
In this world, the only person she cared about now was her grandmother. Beyond her grandmother, she had nothing—no family, no friends, no love.
Even Fu Jingsheng, whom she had encountered in this life, couldn’t fully earn her trust. After everything she had gone through in her previous life, she knew all too well that people approached her with motives.
In her previous life, she had been valuable to others, so she was given everything she wanted. But what good was that? Everything she could obtain was superficial.
Birthdays? Coming-of-age celebrations? While others celebrated joyfully, her life had ended on such a day.
And in this life, her sixth birthday was spent in a cold, sterile laboratory, enduring endless pain and torment.
June 1st—a day loved by children and adults alike, full of innocence and joy. It was her birthday. It was also her Memorial Day.
Shen Yilan gazed out the window at the autumn breeze gently swaying the leaves. This fleeting sense of peace and calm… It only made her feel uneasy.
“Fu Yilan! Fu Yilan! Is Ultraman outside the window? What are you staring at? Look at your book, the blackboard, or me!” The teacher raised their voice, snapping her back to reality.
The whole class erupted into laughter.
Shen Yilan pulled her gaze back, glancing at the teacher before turning to the book on her desk. What page are we even on?
After school in the afternoon, Fu Yinxuan arrived at Class 3 of the first grade to pick up Shen Yilan.
Shen Yilan slung her little backpack over her shoulders and walked out of the classroom, holding Fu Yinxuan’s hand as they left the school together.
Outside the school gate, she looked around and spotted the Fu family’s car. The two of them walked over and climbed into the back seat. Once they were seated, the driver started the car.
As the car began to move, Shen Yilan stared out the window, lost in thought again.
Fu Yinxuan frowned slightly as he looked at her dazed expression. Over the past few days, he had noticed that this little girl was very obedient and well-behaved but had a habit of zoning out constantly. Always daydreaming, he thought.
